Have you ever considered Sydri? She's a stealth combo machine if you fancy or you can play mana rock aggro if that's more your speed. She's not quite as powerful as Sharuum but only due to less 2 card combos. A plethora of fun and easy 3 card combos with her though, look up Karn, Silver Golem combos to get something of an idea.

I built her as an eggs list but it needs work. Just got a masterpiece Ancient Tomb for her though. She's also fun to build as a complex grinding deck of value that eventually hopes to get a critical mass of artifacts and combo off. Kinda like Slobad but with counterspells and tutors.

Yep that's the one, I've changed it up a bit since then because on of the comments was basically: get your shit together, run more ramp/draw.

And the more I thought about it the more I realized he was right. So I added the Signets, Fellwar Stone and a heap of draw spells to make it more efficient.

I got it from an average cmc of 4.7 to 3.9 whilst trying my best to keep to my theme.

You undervalue card advantage. You play it in 1st turn and stop paying when it becomes too expensive, which is usually 3 mana. It's most useful early game, but still useful somewhat late game.
The giggling ramp retard (not the one playing gruul because that faggot never pays and goes ballistic when blue player draws from his triggers) will have enough to pay for his Primal Surge and the Remora trigger.

/tg/ I need your help here, my playgroup consists of 4 people, two of them have degenerate combos that can kill out of nowhere in one turn, the other one is a land destruction deck with reaper king and I play control.

Now, I can make a person not win with removal and exiling stuff, but I can't control two people at the same time, I just run out of fuel, I don't even remember the last time I won a game. So what should I do, suggest them to do 1 vs 1 matches a lot more often? I can perform really good in those.

Is /tg/'s autism overflowing lately or are kiddies migrating here from /co/ and /v/?

What do you do with a person who scoops in a multiplayer game in response to you dealing damage so that some triggers or something don't happen and you don't get your trigger activations that could potentially help you?

Is this seen as a bad thing to do? One of the players in my playgroup doesn't like to die with honor, but my deck relies a lot on dealing damage for things to happen.

I run Wrexial and Obzedat, and they run Breya with a shitton of combos involving clan ironworks and the other decks is prossh with food chain and purphoros and things that kill very fast

In my playgroup, you are only allowed to concede during your main phases when the stack is empty.

Of course, this usually doesn't need to apply (and when one guy is obviously going to win, people can pack up their cards), but if said winning player requires the other players to stay in order to win, then they are still in the game.

So no conceding in response to Feast and Famine triggers, or conceding in response to getting attacked with a Rith with a purphoros in play etc.

I've started to notice edh only really boils down to two players:

The latter also usually scoops or goes full revenge mode when denied their combos.

Folks gotta realize it's not a strictly competitive format, you can check if your LGS does tournies but it's unlikely.

More relevant to EDH though, how do people feel about Thoughtseize style effects in EDH? I have been using Vendillion clique and Thought-knot Seer in my grixis marchesa list and they have been doing pretty well, I never see anyone else run those kinds of effects though.

Also does anybody have recommendations for good bounce spells? I already run Venser and rift and want to up my bounce count because I really like the interaction with this shit, but everything else seems to be overcosted or hits only creatures. Bonus points if the bounce effect is attached to a creature.

So I run related for any deck with big mana, I have nearly one of every eldrazi ever printed, and it's fun to spew them all out.
I do clear it with the people I'm playing with, and am willing to alter my "sideboard" to what they would rather play against. I have them all sorted by color identity, and cast only the ones that fit the the deck(I'd cast Decimator of Provinces in Omnath, but not Monored Artifacts). Some people insist on the 15 Card sideboard idea, which I'm also fine with, I just limit it down to the best 15 for the deck. No one has objected to my using it yet due to there being no official outside the game rules, but if they did I wouldn't use that ability at all. 4 mana for 2 tokens isn't optimal, but in a huge mana deck it works.

I mean, other than that there are always limits. Pretty much all burn will have some relevant targets it won't hit, and most larger burn spells are hillariously inefficent. If you're making a million mana X burn like Burn from Within can do it but then you wouldn't care about efficiency. Hurkyls recall, stony silence, null rod and pithing needle would help with breya; prossh, just kill the food chain and stop attempts to get it back; purphuros hurts but you're playing black in both decks and one is orzhov! Drop soul sisters, zola port cutthroat, suture priest, blood artist etc and purph's token etb's or ltb's will do hurt, do nothing, or help depending on if you have 1,2, or 3.
Those aren't even too vicious as decks go. Focus all counters and spot cc on prossh, his combo is much more two cards than breya, with breya watch his sequencing of actions and attack at the right time or when he messes up. Always insist anyone plays out the combo they can mess it up and that's when you punish them. You can even take advantage of the combos to let them kill each other first and then stop the combo (easier with prossh, breya is critical mass, if he isn't dropping redundant pieces with extra mana then that's a weak point to attack). If someone insists on playing combo than insist they play the combo.

I agree with >>52136344, the best route is meta level communication, but understand that by changing your expectations you can still enjoy the game just as much. Edh is 3 different games imo (maybe 4) fun beer league for laughs, cutthroat politics at 75% (where it seems like you are), and singleton vintage. I personally play and enjoy all three of these styles but if you are expecting the first one and getting the second one then I definitely understand how that would be frustrating. So talk to your group about each other's expectations for the game and play/build accordingly.

It is a function of the game rules that you can concede at any time. There was a half joking friendly reminder that this is true a few threads ago. Magic is a game of strategy. Your strategy needs to include the fact that a player can take that action to thwart you. If your plan hinges on a kill happening with the a certain creature on the victims board and they respond with a kill spell at instant speed to kill the creature that's just good strategy. If your game plan doesn't extend beyond "kill this person" then you're not playing like you understand the game you're trying to play. If a consequence of killing a player is that it leaves your defenses open for another player to alpha strike you then you need a new plan. If your path to victory can be stopped by some last second kingmaking then you need a more robust plan. Basically, play magic as it is, understanding what it is, and don't force your ideas of what it should be on it, that's the path to being a salty crybaby who's just a bad spike.

My original list was too grouphug focused. I'd watch others draw a bunch of cards and win. I built it because I wanted a deck that wasn't so focused on controlling the game, but now my only option is slowing the game to a crawl.
I might be inspired because 3 decks that I've been slowly building have stax elements.

I'm going to post my prototype list in a moment, I have to type it all down.

How do I build discard? I have things like necrogen mists, creeping dread, hymn to touarch, and sire of insanity, what's the best way to build a deck like this? My gut says Grixis for some dirty red recursion and blue card draw but I feel like I'm in over my head.

If my opponent massacre wurms my board after I've rebuilt for the 6th time that game but it doesn't kill me, can I concede after he gets his blood artist triggers? What are some commanders to build fun/chaos decks around? My playgroup has been complaining about being a bit too competitive and I want a deck I can just have fun without necessarily being worried about winning.

I'd prefer something that includes red and/or blue, as I'm on a bit of a budget but have decks built on those colors already.

Go through every card in your deck and imagine you're trying to walk someone else that's really good at magic through your reasoning for putting it in your deck. I like to go through these points:

1) Why it works with your deck
2) Why it's better than your other cards/why it's better in certain situations
3) Why you don't have enough of it's effect in your deck

R/G or Jund might work well. Something like Prosh or that new partner commander that makes saproling tokens. You could partner her with vial smasher for just straight up Jund goodness.

You could also do Talrand, that way you just make tokens with evasion while just playing a goodstuff blue deck.
