Damn I was lining up for the No One Ninjas Like Gaston angle.
>>
>>52009531
Well no one does.
It's just like how nobody waifus like Gaston, or writes haikus like Gaston.
>>
>>52009485
Then the manga proceeds to show zero of the girls ever doing any infiltration.
>>
>>52009563
No one plays on their favorite kazoos like Gaston.
>>
>>52009568
It also shows zero of the girls ever doing anything important.
>>
>>52009579
Tsunade is relevant for a bit.
>>
>>52009568
And?
My point is that that shit happened, anon.
Not whether it actually made sense or affect the plot.

Like I said, it's weird as hell.

>>52009563
Nobody falls off castles like Gaston, that's for sure.
>>
>>52009576
Nobody shoots pool like Gaston, acts a fool like Gaston. No man can shine like a jewel like Gaston!
>>
>>52009579
Kishimoto occasionally attempts to make Sakura relevant again only for people to write letters ot him about how much they hate her.

And Kushina was pretty fun.

>>52009612
And most of all, no one gets blueballed like Gaston!
>>
>>52009620
Not much can be done when he wrote her to be unlikeable from the start.

I mean, reading that. It's LITERALLY a ninja Liberal Arts degree, no wonder none of the poor sods ever got anything done.

You either have to buck the trend like Tsunade and Konan, or be born with something unique like Karin or bunny goddess. It's a damn steep learning curve.

>>52009620
>only for people to write letters to him about how much they hate her

Damn. That...explains a few things about what people have told me about her life post-timeskip.
>>
>>52009649
Yeah. Her introduction shot the actually good parts of her character in the foot right from the start. It's only around the Chunin Exams I started to find her bearable again because she was actually doing shit on her own instead of just reacting to stuff and saying stupid stuff.
>>
>>52009666
>I mean, reading that. It's LITERALLY a ninja Liberal Arts degree, no wonder none of the poor sods ever got anything done.
>You either have to buck the trend like Tsunade and Konan, or be born with something unique like Karin or bunny goddess. It's a damn steep learning curve.
That's true for the boys to though. Top tier ninja just carve through armies worth of fuckers without slowing down.
>>
>>52009601
>>52009666
I think I'm going to purposefully flunk the Kunoichi classes while acing everything else in the curriculum just to prove a point.
>>
>>52009666
Nah that's just Kishimoto being a master fucking troll. Never forget the time we though Sasuke had cheated or had a threesome with both waifus.

>>52009684
That you don't want to do infiltration missions? I mean the reasoning behind it is pretty practical. It's not "girls should know how to do this" it's "our spies and assassins should know how to do stuff girls traditionally do"
>>
>>52009684
I mean, you start after already graduating. So if your point is "I can go back to school whenever I want" then yeah, sounds like a plan.
>>
>>52009666
That's not all satanspiral, her fans harassed one of his assistants on twitter due to Hinata winning.
>>52009709
To be fair, Sasuke totally should have had a threesome with them, and should have knocked up Karin for her superior Uzumaki genes.
>>
>>52009681
I mean, from what I gather you're not wrong. It just seems the figurative glass ceiling's a lot easier for the boys to break through considering Orochimaru coasting on his doctorate of Mad Science let him survive a conflict that killed pretty much every villain with a better pedigree.

>>52009724
HA! Oh god, it's like the Steven Universe fandom all over again.
>>
>>52009709
That those classes are worthless. They shouldn't be mandatory.

If they're serious about infiltration, they need to have optional classes dealing with it for both sexes too.

>>52009717
My backgrounds are me, so I think I can trust them to act how I'd expect myself to, in broad strokes, before the jump starts.
>>
>>52009737
Orochimaru got killed by Itachi. Then he got better because being immortal is his thing. During the 4th war he looked at Madara and was just like "fuck it not even trying that one".

>>52009738
>If they're serious about infiltration, they need to have optional classes dealing with it for both sexes too.
Who says the boys don't have shit like this and why would you make it optional?
>>
Jumpers.

What's your fighting style?
Kung-fu? Gun-fu? Beamspam? Good ol' fashioned Jason Voorhees slow-stalking and tanking?
>>
>>52009737
Honestly if you really just want to flunk your exams it doesn't seem like it'd affect your future life very much. The classes are presumably designed on the assumption not every ninja is a one-in-a-million talent of the century.

Naruto's a goddamn idiot and he grew up to be the goddamn Hokage mainly because of pedigree and stubbornness.

You just have to BELIEVE in IT
>>
>>52009753
>Who says the boys don't have shit like this
They'd probably mention it if the girls literally have to go to a gender specific class about that crap.

>and why would you make it optional?
It's worthless. Not only do none of the relevant ninjas do anything like that, but it is actively cutting into practical class time for the girls, disadvantaging them.
>>
>>52009758
Justice uses a normal sword most of the time, with an overly stylized method of fighting.
He drops the sword when he gets serious, in favor of a self-designed hand-to-hand style.
When he gets 100% serious, or is just really pissed off, he pulls out The Sword and uses a style that is completely utilitarian, no flashy nonsense unless it directly makes it more effective.
>>
>>52009738
Considering that it mentions Flower Arrangement, it's likely something of a class for how women should act in high society, that in japan would actually include skills that men would be considered effeminate to know.
>>
Jump #264: Ark - Survival Evolved
>Four of Cups (Luxury): Apathy and disengagement from the world.
If you knew the background of the crap inherent here, you'd feel some degree of disengagement too. But no matter.
>Location: Lava
THE FLOOR IS LAVA- oh wait, All Terrain Hiker. Tra la la, dancing on the lava.
>Identity: Builder (-100)
>Drawbacks: Boss Bonanza (+1000)
>Unlimited Resources (1800)
When I hit Marvel, I'm going to go to Wakanda, I'm going to pull out a pickaxe, and I'm going to farm vibranium. I'm doing this less for the vibranium than I am to piss off Wakanda because they're the nation equivalent of Reed Richards, who can do no wrong and magically fixes everything (except when Doom is involved). And I'm pretty sure that while it's rare, it's not one of a kind, because they've been mining it for centuries.
>Foraging Skills (1500)
You know, I'm wishing I had this in Minecraft. Would have loved to find diamonds just wherever I was when I needed them.
>Planning Mind (Free, Builder)
While I'm almost certain I picked up something like this in Super Mario RPG, having it codified to be this specific will help even further. If you think a house isn't all that specific, you really need to look at modern building codes.
>Feat of Crafting (Free, Builder)
Ain't no rest for the wicked, until we close our eyes for good.
>Engram Creator (1400, Builder)
So... something like a STC, in a way? Interesting, I suppose.
>Engram Independent (1100, Builder)
Also relying on nothing but recipes is a really, really stupid idea, and I am happy to break free of those shackles. Though it seems silly to have both of these things, but I suppose an engram may be useful to others...
>>
>>52009769
Ninja Academy is practically a preschool when they first enter. Let them have their arts and crafts damnit.
>>
>>52009775
Well, see >>52009769 for why I don't think the boys go through an equivalent.

Not selling me on it not being worthless either.
>>
>>52009778
>Forge of a God (800, Builder)
Oh, now this is promising. A steel pike will never rust? A generator will run forever on a tank of gas? Yes... more useful things to apply toward the eventual rebuilding of Sajuuk. Yes, it's all coming together now.
>Engines of War (400, Builder)
Here we go, then. I'm going to assume of course that this only works for things of a given size, but if I can craft things instantaneously... and I have raw supplies of virtually everything in the basement of the warehouse thanks to Minecraft... well, I'm a one man armory. Handy. (Also, anything I make won't weigh my down? Oh, I will make SO much use of that.)
>Full Server (0)
Hooray! Companions! Foraging skills and danger sense and primal fear and luck of the draw for everyone! Except me. Because they're drop-ins and I am not.

You know what I have to say to Ark?

Screw that.

I'm going to build a giant fucking tower, and I'm going to RAIN MY WRATH DOWN ON EVERYONE WHO ACTS LIKE AN ASSHAT ACROSS THE WORLD. Everyone else can come visit and we'll act like the mother of all trading centers, just like I did in Rust.

But the asshats are going to BURN, because I despise that behavior, and that's what Ark is all about anymore.

That is all.

Weapon Master Ninja. And by that, I mean I use everything in my vicinity like the apprentice of Jackie Chan and cheat my ass off to victory. Although after picking up a Sacred Spear with powers from some other weapons I collected due to imports, I'm pretty in love and likely won't be smacking people with ladders as often.
>>
>>52009769
>They'd probably mention it if the girls literally have to go to a gender specific class about that crap.
The one deep cover agent we see is a boy. He probably got trained in how to act like a boy. They aren't being taught flower arrangement for fun they're being taught it to infiltrate places. Boys also do infiltration and probably have similar classes.

>>52009769
>It's worthless. Not only do none of the relevant ninjas do anything like that, but it is actively cutting into practical class time for the girls, disadvantaging them.
I mean no it's not. They could be expected to infiltrate or hide in another country and that shit is very necessary for something like that. AN din terms of combat skill they don't seem disadvantaged at all. Naruto and Sasuke are massive fucking exceptions to the rule.
>>52009768
>Naruto's a goddamn idiot and he grew up to be the goddamn Hokage mainly because of pedigree and stubbornness.
That and having enough natural charisma to land like thirty princess if we go by the movies.

I need any and all blood-related perks. From Crow (Anima), to Chaos in the Blood (Webmage), to Blood Projection (Basilisk). Literally anything that has to do with blood (preferably your own), that isn't something that only figuratively deals with blood (like royal bloodlines)- It has to directly interact, enhance, or alter blood (again, preferably the user's) in some way.

Give boys arts and crafts then.

>>52009803
Kabuto was taken from an orphanage and raised specifically by Anbu. He didn't even go to the ninja school.

>They could be expected to infiltrate or hide in another country and that shit is very necessary for something like that.
When does anyone in Naruto do this?

>AN din terms of combat skill they don't seem disadvantaged at all.
Consider that all the girls from Naruto's year are bottom of the barrel when it comes to usefulness in the series.
>>
>>52009820
Valkyrie Profile, Darkstalkers, Generic Horror Movie, Okami, Soul Eater.
>>
So I just got back from seeing Logan and Christ was that brutal. I'm probably going to retcon that whole thing. But I'm wondering what I should do other than giving Xavier and probably the other X-Men blood transfusions while having Omega Regen and trying to keep the Transigen corn syrup from being mass produced, but I'm wondering what else I should do. Try to get the adamantium out of Wolverine maybe?
>>
>>52009829
>Consider that all the girls from Naruto's year are bottom of the barrel when it comes to usefulness in the series.
Sakura is literally one of the best ninja in the world. Like she gets in and hits Kaguya hard enough to actually break off her horns. She also is strong and fast enough to fight an Akatsuki member with some help. She's not as useful as Naruto or Sasuke but compared to say fucking Kiba?
>>
>>52009829
I mean, Sakura and Hinata do a lot more than Kiba, Shino and Choji.
>>
>>52009851
>Sakura is literally one of the best ninja in the world.
Nobody buys it, Kishimoto.
>>
>>52009820
I feel like I'm stating the obvious, but Bloodborne is kinda heavy on blood fun.
>>
>>52009758
I just throw people around with Telekinesis.
It's lazy, but I don't have to bother doing much else because it's so effective.
>>
>>52009758
I pick up fighting styles and spiritual techniques and freely mix and match them. Most effective at long and short range, but not powerless at any range. Bows over guns, fists more powerful than bows. Non-lethal takedown specialist, aiming for pressure points and disabling an enemy's ability to attack.

Basically, I'm kind of a pussy but I don't let that stop me.
>>
>>52009861
I mean think of the boys not named Naruto and Sasuke in their class. Maybe Shikimaru does more then Sakura and even then it's a pretty close tie.
>>
>>52009876
Oh, and I stack unpredictability, reaction time, and dodging perks. Not getting hit is the most effective way to not take damage. Hitting them where they are unguarded is the most effective way to stop them.
>>
>>52009860
>>52009884
Look, Sakura is an utter joke and nobody relevant. Kishimoto keeps trying to force her back in with things like special training from Tsunade and she's still nothing. Now, Hinata herself doesn't do anything, she's relevant because of the romance, and Hinata's combat skill is due to her Byakugan, not anything she learned from the school.

You should be thinking of people like Tenten and Ino.
>>
>>52009913
>You should be thinking of people like Tenten and Ino.
So weapon master with like five panels of screen time and the person who's part of one of the most effective teams in the series? I mean Ino runs the entire communications system for the Shinobi Army after her dad gets blown up.
>>
>>52009924
They're irrelevant and weak compared to the boys in their class, is my point.
>>
>>52009940
But they aren't at all. Hinata is way more relevant and does way more shit then Kiba or Shino. Ino is consistently the peer of Choji and Shikimaru in their team.
>>
>>52009913
Tenten isn't in their year, moron.

>>52009940
Your point is wrong, because Hinata and Sakura stomp Kiba and Choji's ass nine times out of ten. Those are people with names too. They shit all over the people who didn't even graduate.

I've invented several supernatural martial arts over the years, most notably Kaleid Hero Style and Space CQC. I hardly ever use them since I'm seldom fought in my true form.

So my basic attacks boil down to:

-The Purity Pummel: A variable blast of light, that compresses enough photonic energy to wipe out a universe into a space anywhere between a galaxy and a teacup. The real nasty part comes from its' property of nullifying other supernatural powers; it's an amalmagram of the Control Light, Ra Tilt and Bel Fire spells reinforced by the light of my soul and an Essence 5 World-Searing Solar Glory-equivalent.

-The Gate of Heaven: An omnidirectional vector-manipulating portal launch system created through reverse engineering the Moonstone. It uses my High Speed Materialisation of Nothingness to forge different Virtues and Soulfire into the hyperdimensional manifested Archangel Blades to emulate the Swords of the Cross' supernature-bypassing effect, and uses sourcery to distort the fate-quantum axis of the attacks such that they always hit first.

-The Oculus Event Horizon: Twin homing vortexes of magical energy distorted into humanity-flame projections of the Golden Ratio, ripped straight ouf of the Root and fired through my recursive mystic eyes, by temporarily shapeshifting my brain into a microcosm of the Type Moon universe.

And for defence, what I like to think of as blob-portals. I meshed up the Territory trick from Fairy Tail with the HSMON and Eliatrope portals to toss around little blobs of space to deflect attacks. That, and using Observation channeled through magical constructs based on the Eyes of the World to manipulate causality.

>>52009845
Best Xmen movie so far, easily

Nah, reckon that's the crucial part. Got the power enhancer power? With it, I'm pretty sure Logan's buffed regen could let him live with the adamantium indefinitely; at this point removing it'd hurt him more than it'd help
>>
>>52009958
>>52009968
>Completely ignoring >>52009913

You two are really vicious flower arrangement fanatics.
>>
>>52009971
Tenten. I always liked her schtick even though she ultimately didn't amount to much. I also specialize in weapons of all types, and started my chain woefully under-powered compared to my peers for a long time. so I kinda picked her up as a disciple since I saw myself in her.
>>
>>52009758
My answer to that is quite literally, "Yes."

Lemme explain, within my first thirty jumps, I picked up:
> Technique Mimicry (Medaka Box)
> Adaptability (Wuxia)
> Shared Heritage (DoA)
> Void Slave Skills - Weapon Mastery (Familiar of Zero)
> Superior Combination (KR Neo-Heisei 1)
> Like Riding a Bike (SAO)
> Killdozer (Tomb Raider)
> Innovative (AtLA)
> Like the Back of Your Hand (Skullgirls)

Basically, my fighting style swings between two extremes, it's either I use a single style with a crazy-ass level of effectiveness seen once every 500 years or something like that, or I use what could only be described as The Fighting Style, the Style all others come from and will one day return to...well, at least that was how the Head Abbot in that Shaolin Monastery in Samurai Jack described it.

As for how I fight, it depends on the World and the situation, but it usually has me learning the local fighting styles and using one or all of them. Learning said styles sometimes involve me picking fights and learning my opponent's style as they try to cave my head in.

>>52009795
Oh! There's an actual perk for that! Check the Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio Jump.
>>
>>52009913
I notice the wiki doesn't even cite a source on that so for all we know they're talking out of their ass. And besides we never see anything implying that cuts into their training time. Maybe while the girls learn flower arrangment the boys do woodshop or some shit so they can blend in as peasant farmers.
>>
>>52009996
If we're only counting things they got from school then, shouldn't Sakura win? Literally ALL the kids from that year had a special family or gimmick, except Sakura. She's weak as shit, but actually shows the things she got taught in the forest of death. Traps, deception, henge, substitution. I hate Sakura, but your argument is bull.

If we're counting Tenten, Lee and Neji despite not being from the same year, Neji doesn't count because he only uses clan techniques. Neither does Lee because everything he knows didn't come from school, it came from Gai.

That time my sex tape got leaked in Generation Kill. Those poor jarheads. They didn't deserve to have their minds broken by the mystery of how exactly I did the transdimensional salsa with the incarnation of cosmic fire.

I WANT to destroy all the copies post-Spark. But I'm pretty sure some of my naughtier companions nabbed and hid some of them in places I won't look.

>>52009996
Flower arrangement fanatics CAN be hella vicious, to be fair.

>>52009971
Karin and sensei Orochimaru! The former because hey, she was my kyodai even if she had a tendency to drool on my spare ninja sweaters. Well, that and because apart from the whole stalking thing she genuinely was one of the few people in the village to GET me. The latter because we had a great time skipping out most of the war to do science, and he pretty much went beningly amoral ever since he discovered modern genetic engineering techniques. The man gets along famously with Fran.
>>
>>52010026
The school point is over Hinata. Byakugan is her only point of relevance and it doesn't involve the school at all, let alone flower arrangement.

I mean, not even Sakura ever uses it. Only Ino does. For her family business, which doesn't involve infiltration at all.
>>
>>52010047
Wait, I think I got involved in an argument without knowing the full context. What exactly is it you're trying to say? What I saw was the girls in Naruto's year sucked compared to the boys, which was blatantly untrue.
>>
>>52010066
I don't like the kunoichi classes. They're worthless and I think they shouldn't be mandatory. If the school really cares about infiltration despite nobody in Naruto ever doing that, they should have optional classes for both boys and girls instead of wasting the girls' time on flower arrangement.
>>
>>52010098
Shit I don't really disagree with that. Is there proof that flower arranging lasts past the first couple of years? The only time I remember seeing it was when they were itty bitty.

1. Sing at them.

2. If they don't go away, begin to dance sword fight with them

3. Blast magic at it until it goes away

4. Shoot them.

5. The ENOUGH spell, which makes a barrier appear around everyone and seperate my allies from my enemies so no one fights each other anymore. The barriers are super strong but they move with the other person, but no one can hurt each other physically.

This spell is super powerful and a single casting burns through over half my mana reserves, so I only use it in emergencies.

Compared to a lot of wuxia martial arts it's much less impressive then the jump doc makes it sound compared to other martial arts. Deflecting walls of arrows and skipping across water aren't uncommon things around there.

>Compared to a lot of wuxia martial arts it's much less impressive then the jump doc makes it sound compared to other martial arts. Deflecting walls of arrows and skipping across water aren't uncommon things around there.

oh yeah no argument here, it's definitely not late wuxia levels of power, but it's a lot better than what can be accomplished with real-world martial arts. I mean Remo can flip a tank, and dodge bullets by looking at where they're going to be fired and moving before the trigger is pulled but that's about his limit.

I mean Remo can flip a tank, and dodge bullets by looking at where they're going to be fired and moving before the trigger is pulled but that's about his limit.
And a lot of that might be coming from him being an incarnation of Shiva iirc.

... Gismor?

Also, D2 has a bunch of worldbuilding that isn't really present in the other games. As terrible as D2 is, it's actually my favorite in terms of worldbuilding.

Though, like >>52012535's pic states, the games are all actually finicky alternate timelines of each other. To go from 3 to 2, you'd need to set things up very carefully.
I don't think any of the game endings for 3 even lead into 1 & 2. They had to write an extra supplemental story with a chimera'd plot between the different routes to link them all together.

Gismore is best character.

1. Final Fantasy I
2. Heisei Part 5: Hibiki
3. Heisei Part 7: Den-O+Kiva
4. Highschool DxD since the previous claim went quiet.
5. Something with 'Zero' in it. I'll either pick up the FoZ redux again or start on Re:Zero. This one is a maybe.

If there are no problems, I can have half of these done in a month or else.

Don't worry, you're completely correct. Singular Riders before the era of merchandising really got rolling is hair-pullingly frustrating to make a jump of without just revisiting old perks and tropes. With how many jumps we have of Kamen Rider, I was going to have crossed wires eventually.

Hibiki looks like I'll have enough fun with it that it won't be a huge problem, and Part 7 has plenty of untapped content, but Blade and Kabuto really some kind of touch-up at some point.

It's also because...well, not everything I make can be another Madoka in terms of quality.

How quick is casting in Anima? Is it just the accumulation/mana regeneration that takes awhile, or is it the whole thing?
>>
>>52013761
Firing off the spell is functionally instant, if you've accumulated enough Zeon, you can fire off literally as many spells as you'd like.

So if you've accumulated 150 Zeon, you can fire off a 50 Zeon Dark Beam, a 50 Zeon Shield of Darkness, and a 50 Zeon Shadow all at once.
>>
>>52013761
Casting is instantaneous, it's only accumulating Zeon that takes time. Many spells take concentration to use, though, meaning that even if they're instant-cast they can only be used during your action turn. Some are so fast you can just reflexively cast them whenever if you have enough Zeon available. Mostly active defenses, blocking-type spells that could only be used on your turn would be pretty useless.

>>
>>52014300
Buying a tech option from marvel means marvel tech works in other settings right? Then you can make a time machine.
>>
>>52014278
Fifth magic from fate and Lord of the speed from Kabuto also
>>
>>52014278
Touhou has time travel? Pretty sure Lunar Dial explicitly can't do that.
>>
>>52014329
The tech works. The timestream is different, though. You'd probably have to map it out, make sure you don't accidentally wind up in the wrong era.
>>
>>52014329
No, it means that you can build Marvel tech, not necessarily that it works, because it relies on assumptions about time specific to that universe. Kind of like how being able to build 40k tech does not inherently guarantee Warp-based travel.
>>
>>52014358
Good point, dont want to wind up too far back. Or forwards.
>>
>>52014271
I disagree. Neon and Video are some really interesting powersets if you imagine what they'll be able to do on higher levels, and even Concrete, Cryo- and Electrokinesis are very versatile. Also, they aren't some form of magic or psychic power, which is also a plus.
>>

Eh, different strokes. For me, Neon and Video are just something the writers shoehorned in after they decided on some dumb "urban elemental powers" theme and had trouble making that interesting. They've got nothing to do with neon or video, they just call themselves that. I'd rather stay away from them.
>>
>>52014403
They can't be countered by abilities that only work on magic or psionics, and it also boosts the "novelty" you talked about.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuB9i1TwqxY

Look at those digiwings! Look at that satellite-telewarp! Imagine going for a nice evening run while leaving behind a fabulous highlighter trail! Look at that dorky s-okay Eugene's a massive nerd, so I just went old school and wielded pixel blades like this guy:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HaKHp8glPc

You'd be surprised how rare technowizardry is-and this was back in the early days, WAY before Ar Tonelico jump was made. Oh sure I could redecorate another magic system, but it's hardly the same when none of it would have any functional purpose.

>>52014403
Presumably because they'd ignore magic/psychic-jamming stuff, being technically "science"?

>>52014425
Now that said? I don't disagree.

I just don't see how that's a downside.
>>
>>52014425
Oh, I agree. I usually take Electrokonesis anyway, because Raildex is scary. I just thought it would be worth bringing up because you said they didn't have any novelty, which simply isn't true.
>>
>>52014395
But anon. If you don't buy into the meme that without fiat backing every universe magically runs on physics that are different enough to stop your tech from working yet still appear similar on the surface then you're wanking.

Seriously I don't know where this idea started but I hate it. Changing one constant in physics basically destroys the entire system but people want to assume entire fields have to be entirely different. Its retarded.
>>
>>52014451
>I just don't see how that's a downside.
Because it's used to reinforce a shitty theme that the writers decided on for no good reason. If Fetch just had energy manipulation powers, and Eugene had hardlight projections, that would be fine. But no, all Conduits have to be elemental absorbers now.
>>
>>52014436
>>52014451

>>
>>52014436
>>52014451
>>52014512
There's also the Ray Field Inhibitor.
>>
>>52014474
I understand the idea. Like, there are some universes where things that are ostensibly the exact same process produce very different outcomes. Like, if you're in the Mass Effect universe you can fuse helium-3 atoms together all you want and you'll never create Minovsky Particles. Yes, there are common laws of physics between all the worlds, and the special stuff is just things on top of those laws (usually, I can think of plenty of exceptions to the rule). But those things on top interact with the commonalities, and how they interact when there are multiple extra layers all working together can get finicky. Maybe not enough to shut the tech down, but I imagine that you'll probably have to make adjustments. It's like cooking. You know cooking works no matter where you are, but the local air pressure can change variables. I don't see why local space-time metrics shouldn't do that, too.
>>
>>52014577
While that is a decent argument the entire reason you buy the tech perks is so you don't need to worry about that. It would be like saying magic from jump A doesn't work in jump B because jump A relies on ambient magic and jump B has no magic at all. You buy the perk so it works.

...okay, I feel I SHOULD understand because my actions in DC Occult were primarily driven by utter outrage at a certain comic about a certain fallen angel which would be total lies if it ever existed.

But. I mean, this is a game where a man can somehow survive being at the epicenter of an exploding high energy sphere to become a bargain bin crimson Dr. Manhattan.

I feel like protesting because of power consistency is a little futile when it seems fairly clear that the writers have just been throwing in whatever powers and explainations they think are cool at any given moment.

>>52014512
Why, though? How would the wizard/psion from somewhere else know the mechanism behind the exact same technique Augustine used? I'm sure there's plenty of countermeasures (don't get it for example), but the point is more that it's out-of-context and weird enough for a sucker punch.

Psionics do tend to vary the most in explainations, though.

>>52014561
Again-not something most wizards are familiar with.

>>52014577

>>
>>52014609
Sure, I agree with that. I thought we were talking about tech you just took from one universe to another. That's the stuff you'd need to adjust for local variables. But I guess that's not what we were talking about, and I was just confused. My apologies for misunderstanding the conversation, it seems we're actually in agreement.

>>
>>52014625
Well, by that logic, most anti-magic or psionics shouldn't work on your magic or psionics, either. Which makes sense I guess, because you have to pay CP for your shit to work in other worlds the same way, a random wizard in some podunk setting shouldn't be able to force all magic from every world to bend to his whims regardless of its source or function.

Oh! Fair enough.

I think I mentioned this the other time this came up, but I always figured one possible in-universe reason might have been because after Augustine took power, the conduits that turned into giant monsters or crapped minions everywhere were the easiest to spot and round up. While the conduits that shot elements at people could disguise as normal people more easily, and thus took longer to find. And since this would've been way after 2's good endings where all the mature conduits died, these would've all been newbies without the finesse or resources of the first game's heroes and villains.

Doesn't seem to have been elaborated in canon of course, but it just makes sense to me.

>Video

I've actually been wondering about this. I haven't played Infamous, but I took a look at the wiki page for Video, and like. Are all the powers as weird as this?

I mean there's the part where "video" is an "element" that you suck out of TVs and monitors, then the part where it lets you project hard light, which isn't even a thing, and I guess this Eugene guy can pull people into some kind of pocket dimension? Did anyone in-universe ever take a look at this Video conduit guy and just go, "Wait, this is some weird-ass shit happening"?
>>
Speaking of InFamous, would it be fair to say that as a Conduit I could basically shrug off most of the attacks the gang from the 300 CP drawback could muster up against me? 'Cause in the videos of the game it seems like conduits are pretty much immune to bullets.
>>

Eh, honestly I don't think of it in terms of absolutes or fiat-mostly because I frankly find it unspeakably boring and would rather not do anything that makes all of this feel like a tax account similator. I certainly don't considered CP purchases to be inherently superior to the original article unless otherwise stated. >>52014760

Whenever I try to figure out what might work and what might not, I just try to learn as much about how the powers work as possible and then guesstimate the likeliest eventuality. Example-far as I know, DBZ doesn't really have an answer to jumping into the tel'aran'rhion-equivalent and balefiring someone at point blank range. On the other hand, the machina-dampeners in FFX jam crystal-based spiritual energy fields so I imagine some turbulence with, say, blasts of Fate's modern magecraft (which usually uses spiritual energy to manifest a physical form) would be expected.

I fanwank a lot, basically.

>>52014810
Not immune exactly but they do seem to have quite the regen factor. I recall in the first game Cole mentioned a train hit him and he was out of hospital the next day.

>>52014808
I'll be honest: Eugene's a goddamn weirdo even by Conduit standards. Off the top of my head only Cole boasts as much versatility on the ostensible basis of "control electricity". At least John had the whole ray sphere thing going for him.

I think in the DLC his power is explained as actually light control, which raises even MORE questions about what the fuck is happening when he sucked Eugene into his boss arena. Because if that was supposed to be a hardlight reality marble, than the part where he seemingly gets sucked into the monitor is even more out of place.

>>52014760
...I dont' get it.
>>
>>52014858
>currently
And why hasn't he been here? Why has he not said a fucking thing on this board? You can't just throw claims to other people in secret and not let others know. This is scummy.
>>
>>52014808
Video is a particularly weird one, but they're all pretty odd. Like, Cole could make handcuffs out of electricity, somehow. Fetch can alter gravity with neon light. Just the light, the gas stays in the neon tube. Augustine can stab people with concrete spikes and make wounds that are impossible to heal without her retracting them. Conduits are weird.

>>52014810
Not immune, but highly resistant. Enough gunfire can kill a Conduit, but it takes a lot.
>>
>>52014810
You're not immune to bullets (unless you're using your Conduit powers, of course) but you're really hard to put down with individual small arms fire. But a concentrated amount of fire, such as from a squad of soldiers with assault rifles or something like a machine gun, would shred you pretty quickly unless you took effort to protect yourself from it.
>>
>>52014881
He did and he has? It's not like this was a secret claim.
>>
>>52014942
Post proof, then.
>>
>>52014878
>I certainly don't considered CP purchases to be inherently superior to the original article unless otherwise stated.
No, but they're different. It's not a matter of superiority, it's just that one universe's anti-magic and psionics probably won't work on another. Like, someone messing with the Winds of Magic in Warhammer won't do anything to your magic because yours doesn't interact with them at all. Likewise, only the CP version of Force Sever will shut off your other psionic abilities because none of them are reliant on the Force. Unless they also have abilities purchased with CP.
>>
>>52014810
Killing a Conduit with small arms is difficult, more difficult if you have the durability perk but even then it is still possible if the enemy has enough of them or uses something with more oomph than standards small arms.
>>
>>52014956

From Anima:
>Mage Perks apply across magic systems. The references to the Flow of Souls or whatever are for immersion and to explain how magic works without being hamfisted.

Does this mean that Increased Zeon Recovery multiplies mana recovery from other worlds by four? I'm kind of on the fence about it, because the notes also say this:

>Zeon: Mana. Basically. It comes back much MUCH slower than mana from systems outside of this jump. Most mages have barely enough Zeon to cast a handful of their best spells before being tapped out for a few days at the very least.

Yeah, here's the thing: Out of character I've always treated CP as a writing prompt rather than an ironclad game mechanic. To me whether something works on something else has nothing to do with whether it was purchased by CP.

>>
>>52015376
Yes.

The Zeon note is because Zeon itself is /really/ weird, and I'm also not willing to assume that everyone does the whole, "All mana pools become one" thing. It was just me trying to say that in Anima, Zeon recovers /really/ slowly compared to something like Neptunia (Exit Dungeon = Full restore) or Skyrim (get out of a fight = regenerate within a minute or so). The "Mana. Basically." note was just me saying that in terms of how it's used, think of it like mana. It's what you use to power your spells.

Conceptually, it's completely different, but I figured that getting into a shpeil on how exactly, magic works, would be a pointless digression.

>>52015909
Already jumped and have been abusing the Social Fu and Winging Ceremony since. The only reason why I haven't tried to reorder things so that I jump it with my Magical Girl companion is because I have no idea what type of Sekirei she should be, she isn't an elemental type and power type enhancements are wasted on her because she doesn't do "fair fights".

>>52016038
How much does Immortal Soul slow your learning speed? And how overt is it? Could it potentially endanger you in combat situations?
>>
>>52016300
Not too much, and it's pretty subtle. It's just... you kinda remember learning something before, but you don't actually have the knowledge, so it makes it harder to learn as you automatically skip over things you already 'know', but you actually don't? And no, it can't endanger you in a combat situation, it just makes you take longer to learn as you have to force yourself to slow down and ignore that nagging, "I already know this though" feeling that you get whenever you try to learn something.

Pretty much any warehouse add on lets you have your own aesthetics, and after Red pitched warehouse add ons you had people jumping on board to add them into their jumps. The most famous is probably God of War yeah, but pretty much any warehouse add on or location item has modifiable aesthetics.

>>52017094
Mhm.

>>52017087
Yeah, kinda strange that nobody said anything about that when it was posted. It's not a problem per se anyway, it just seems strange to have so little drawbacks.
>>
>>52017120
Does Dirge have something against SB? Or have I just bit some bait?
>>
>>52017123
So basically you're looking for jumps where it's explicitly written that you can modify the workings of the warehouse?
>>
>>52017136
The maker is Herculeanon. May be a good idea to ask him if he's making some more drawbacks for the next version?
>>
>>52017152
>explicitly written that you can modify the workings of the warehouse
No, the warehouse entrance or portal. That is explicitly a thing you can buy in the road to el dorado, you said that was available in lots of other jumps. I do not believe it is.
>>
>>52017146
It's a new running meme that every shitposter is Dirge, especially the SB related ones.
>>
>>52017152
Not him, but I figure I'll post the perk for you, save y'all some trouble.

>50- Golden Gateway of The Jumper- turns the warehouse entrance into a golden Aztec temple, causing any door/portal currently being used to access the warehouse to temporarily transform into a Golden Aztec Temple entrance complete with depictions of faces, monsters, warriors and festivals all carved into the gold. If one were to take the time to study them carefully they would find that these carvings are actually depictions of things you have done in the past. This effect ends when the portal/door is no longer in use.
>50. Gateway Customization- For an Extra 50 cp you may choose what style of gateway you want and what color scheme, want a celtic storyboard with all the colors of the rainbow? you can do that.
>>
>>52017152
Didn't someone make a list of things that add features to the warehouse? Does someone have a copy?
>>
>>52017146
You're a bait biting retard.
>>
>>52017165
Yeah, I'll look out for him.
>>
>>52017174
Then you're probably right, because most jumpmakers don't use explicit language like that. Even God of War doesn't use explicit language like that, and El Dorado took the idea from God of War.
>>
>>52017201
Because god of war lets you change the scenery of your warehouse and thats it.
>>
>>52017179
Okay. Kinda confused as to why Dirge of all people. Is there a story behind this or is it just one of those weird spontaneous things that crop up now and again?

>>52017184

>>52017232
Because after Dirge left, the shitposter marked him as a valid target for shitposting, and since he's dropped the name entirely it's not that much different from Wakfu leaving. Nowadays the name Dirge has no meaning, it's just something for shitposters to ragdoll with.

There's no point defending a namefag that doesn't exist, but the shitposter takes that as open season to keep shitposting about a namefag that doesn't exist, so a meme is born.

War, War never changes… wait no that’s another jump. This was a curious world and for a world where we were fighting terrorists it was a lot less dangerous and serious than I expected. I don’t like killing so I was the medic. However I am thankful to say I was not often needed in that capacity.

I wound up being the resident mad scientist for the joes countering whatever mad science Cobra was using at the time. Eventually that just became my job and people forgot that I was actually supposed to be the medic. Maybe it didn’t help that I introduced people to Rick and so they thought I was fallowing in my grandfather’s footsteps as a mad scientist.

Cobra actually tried to kidnap Rick… They wound up begging us to take him back after he caused them more trouble than we ever could. Apparently he almost destroyed the world somehow messing with something they had there. According to them at least. I don’t know how that’s possible he was supposed to be a prisoner but then again it’s Rick.

Anyways I lost track of how many times I saved the world from Cobra. Some of their schemes were pretty childish and easy to unravel.

Shitposters, huh. What weirdos. I mean everyone liked to be a little mischevious at times, but these guys take things so far I can't imagine that they are actually enjoying themselves in being just plain asshats.

And Dirge has left, well that's just sad. He made the best epic-length jumps ever.

Has he just left the thread, or has he stopped jumpchain altogether?

>I had to step back to avoid a strike that would have slipped in the weak point of my greaves but I took out a throwing knife and flicked it at his sword hand, relying on my Name’s reflexes to guide the throw. It nailed him right in the wrist and he hissed in pain.

>Apparently I’d hit a nerve – or an artery – because there was a flicker of power before a burst of light emanated from his frame. I deftly stepped out of range, but William took the occasion to get back to his feet. The light had pushed the knife out of his wrist, I saw, and the wound was already closing.

Angels and devils (which are basically the mooks of Hell as compared to the Demons, who are basically the lords.)

Angels are special though, so I'd suggest against summoning them.

>>
>>52018401

>>52018401
It's basically a gauntlet, without the advantages of a gauntlet. Which basically means if you die your chain ends with you.
>>
>>52018401
And let the REEEEing and shitposting begin.

It's a jump. If you die, it's chain loss.

Personally I ignore the jump entirely because I can't find any information on LoT on the web.

So I am looking for some more suggestions on jumps to roll for again. The last few times haven't exactly turned out great but hopefully this time will be better. Here is a list of what I have already taken http://pastebin.com/MR60FhSt. Thanks in advance for any suggestions
>>
>>52018416
Special in that there's a finite number of them, and I think they're immortal or something stupid like that? I can't remember the details.

More importantly though, the problem's that whenever they show up, they brainwash everyone nearby. The Good faction doesn't call it brainwashing, but it totally is.

Basically, when the Angels of Contrition show up, they hit you with every bad thing you've ever done, no matter how petty, then shout repent in your head until you do. Named can resist the effect (and the MC does so before mugging it for a resurrection, for example), but no one else can.

The other Angels are said to have similar effects, with Mercy turning people peaceful, and... I don't remember the other ones.

Oh, well that's bad. Looks like I'll have to rely on summons from out of setting.

Now that my build is done, do you have any advice on what my Name should be? I've got VOID, SUMMON, and SORCERY. I'm planning to just send an army of my summons to any fights that break out, without anyone knowing who I am. But Summoner sounds pretty bland, I think.
>>
>>52018401
It's a weird one off in the history of Jumpchain. It's basically a series of gauntlets since it depowers you by default, but the rules for winning and losing is more like a Jump, in that dying even while depowered is a loss. If it hasn't been made clear yet, you can also carry over CP between the different main parts of LoT (1, 2 an 3, but not any of the DLC). Not as big of an advantage as you would think though since it was designed with that in mind and exists in a vacuum. It's a weirdo.

>>
>>52015454
>Yeah, here's the thing: Out of character I've always treated CP as a writing prompt rather than an ironclad game mechanic. To me whether something works on something else has nothing to do with whether it was purchased by CP.

Not the same anon, but if you don't follow that, it would mean that most of your stuff wouldn't work out of their original setting. Which would make zero sense in the context of Jumpchain.
>>
>>52018440
>can't find anything on LoT on the web
Because you can't find it on the web. It's mostly OC senpai. An adventure through the setting. So anything it references you look up. Rather than the jump itself.
>>
>>52018878
>Mostly OC
Well. Not really. It's more like a Frankenstein of dozens of other existing things. From the Light of Terra and parts of Part 1 being taken from an existing 40k RPG module to the various DLC being based on existing adventures from stuff like Jojo.
