The hardened armor is supposed to represent the multi-layer plating developed in response to banestrike rounds, but I see what you mean about the WT and the fires of isstvan rule being a little much. considering he's only ever seen in a support role I think I'll drop the WT and add a ppm cost to the armor (suggestions welcome, currently thinking 1-2ppm) it's supposed to be narrative so I'm not as hyper-focused on perfect balance, unless it's out of whack totally.

melta is great if your local meta doesn't run a lot of armored ceramite, or for busting dreadnoughts/doors in zone mortalis games.

What holes do you have in the rest of your army? Termies, unless your whole army is termies, should be used for a role-whether it be anti-termy, anti-marine, tough scoring or whatever. Lightning claws are good at shredding marines, but leave you scratching like a space wolf against 2+ and dreads. Powerfists lets everything else swing first, but you have a good weapon against everything.
>>51875007
Thats a fucking lot of points, so you want them to hit the most expensive unit your enemy has. Give them plasma and fists, and one or two chainfists to keep armour away.

>>
>>51875224
Bikers can't take nuncio voxes in 30k if i'm not mistaken, mainly just tactical and vet tactical squads are your most common choice for a nuncio vox

Unfortunately though, teleport deep striking in 30k takes far more commitment, namely since you either have to use Orbital Assault or the Black Reaving RoWs, but you could chuck them in an anvil with combi-plas and powerfists/chainfist and guarantee a turn two charge

Deep striking just comes down to equipping units to dumpster specific targets

I personally like a bit of herohammer so I run a praetor with Combi-plas/paragon blade with a unit of 5 Justaerins in an orbital assault list. It's not WAAC levels or shit, But it's fluffy and with a little luck, you can delete a pretty tough unit with BS5 rapid fire plasma
>>
>>51875571

>>51876273
compare, for example, horus. He can eat anything in melee, but usually he'll catch one tactical squad the opponent throws as a roadblock. He needs some method of transport and protection with an escort, a vehicle or both. A good opponent will ignore your 800+ point deathstar, while his army slaughters yours. Compare that to magnus, who is perfectly functional by himself, needs no transport or escort, and rightfully should cost 750 points or so but FW wants horus to stay the most expensive. Worth his points is an understatement, he's a lot better than his points, but compare that to all his brothers who are never going to make their points back through combat unless its through mutual deathstar annihilation, and any army buffs only start making their worth known at 3k+ games. That doesnt mean that i support FW's bullshit, but most primarchs you take because they're cool, not because they're optimal. Magnus is at least as good as a warhound for 66% of the cost.
>>
>>51876273
Objectively though, any melee beatstick is only situationally good. Shooting lasers IS good.

Also, it was dead obvious the Magnus wouldn't be a slouch in combat because no Primarch is. Even Lorgar is solid in combat.

A shooty Primarch would have to be both beat stick and laser of doom. Otherwise sigismund would push their shit in.
>>
>>51876316
At 3k+ Magnus is going to eat the D like anything else though. Or a Talon of Leviathan Dreanoughts will ruin his day.

Or your 100 Levis will slowly chop him away.

Or your death star manages to lock him in combat.
>>
>>51876338

>>
>>51876377
They are pretty average, think of the Primarchs as glorified figure heads that mulch any other non Primarch beat stick.

That was pretty much what they did during the crusade, showed up to 1v1 whatever poor leader mook that defied the crusade.
>>
>>51876377
Falls on the army support primarch. They personally don't earn anything back, just look scary (invisible models wooooo) and let your army do shenannigans.
>>
>>51876419
Yeah!

In a 5000pt game, Perturabo would be the tits because free deepstrike for all his Terminator boys.
>>
>>51876316

I think Alpharius is worth it below 3k. Army wide Preferred Enemy is pretty damn nice, he also doesn't really need an expensive bodyguard, he's probably happiest just charging a blob and hiding in combat all game.
>>
>>51876419
>They personally don't earn anything back
Pretty sure they'd mulch anything without a primarch in it though, or let the deathstars duel it out on even footing while they distracted stronger primarchs?

Also wtf but I didn't think Dorn was a manlet or
>tfw to intelligent for combat practice
>>
>>51876372
Barring Knight Melee, i dont see much D, magnus can D a Knight or a trio of leviathans, or anything footslogging from half the board away while they footslog at him. And even without going full biomancer he's no slouch, unless you have ten termies with a buffing HQ or a CC primarch beating on him he's not going down
>>51876377
Alphy's decent in bigger games because appearing from nowhere and armywide PE, but he's no doom laser like magnus
>>
>>51876316
>He needs some method of transport and protection with an escort
Well of course, they may be Primarchs, but they're still Infantry models you know. Not everyone is Corax of Curze.
Or Mortarion, quite unexpectedly.
Or Sanguinius, you can bet your ass he'll at the very least move like a Flying Monstrous Creature, like that Tau Starsuit Commander.
But you're right about Magnus needing to be way WAAAAAY more expensive and some Primarchs being a bit too expensive for what they do, mainly because their pricing and rules were made through a direct comparison with Horus...and then came Magnus.
>That doesnt mean that i support FW's bullshit, but most primarchs you take because they're cool, not because they're optimal. Magnus is at least as good as a warhound for 66% of the cost.

Well, the game was cut short when one player had to leave but,

I was playing 2000 points in a 2v2 4000 point killpoint mission. I had Curze on the board trying (and failing) to spook the stubborn Thousand Sons terminators on one side of the board. my ally was Mechanicum with a bunch of big boops on the other side of the board with two drop pods, their terror squads, my Sicaran Venator, and the melted remains of a blood angels army.

Turn 2 rolls around and Magnus (without re-rolling reserves) deep strikes onto the board with all the big boops and drop pods and unleashes Pyromancy's nova power at Strength D and decimates more than half the big boops and every vehicle with no saves of any kind allowed. Surprisingly, because the power was AP 5 and only 6's ignored all saves, my terror squads only lost 2-3 guys each. One of the terror squads ran, the other shoot at(read:failed) and tried to assault Magnus's terminator bubble just to die horribly to primarch stats. I think they took out 3 Sekmet with them. The Mechanicum player was so done with Magnus he walks his bots to the other side of the board where Curze had just died to six 1's in a row before the game ends because of the aforementioned early leaver.
>>
>>51876460
It wasn't in support of Magnus's cost, it was bemoaning the pricing of every other primarch.
>corax or curze or morty
I play Admech and Night Lords, and usually bring a basic Terror Assault featuring Batman, termies and a Leviathan. Even then, i have trouble making my points back when i bring Batman, since while he's a primarch any 2w termies or particularly choppy legion units can do damage, i got dropped to 1w by a WE tac squad with an apothecary that rolled sixes for a charge
>>
>>51876560
>i got dropped to 1w by a WE tac squad with an apothecary that rolled sixes for a charge

To be fair, that kind of squad takes on Horus and his bodyguard.
>>
>>51876560
The Primarchs I mentioned are the ones that CAN survive without a transport, not that they can defeat entire armies on their own like Mr. FOOKIN NUKE here >>51876536
I like Curze's spooping-on-line-of-sight rule, but you shouldn't expect it to work on bots and stubborn people.

Konrad Curze and his followers wanted to bring order through terror like he did on Nostomo.

The Night Haunter and his followers wanted to cause terror for the sake of terror.

After the Emperor told him to come home to be grounded he had PTSD about his visions of the Emperor killing him and fled to be traitor. Most of his legion were found at fault for doing what they were told to do so they went with him.

ABD's night lords and Zho Sahaal seemed to agree with Curze's teachings and used fear as a tool to create order but were still hurt by the "Emperor's" assassination.

Krieg Arcerbus on the other hand went full blown daemon prince, preaches the Night Haunter's dogma and helps Abaddon most of the time.

What purposes can custodes actually serve as allies? I'm trying to get away from the memetrain a little here and actually look at what they can bring that's practical and worthwhile as an allied detach.

the caladius is obviously nice, but at the same turn is essentially a more expensive sicaran. For the purposes of argument I'm going to assume that no one is being a raging asshole with a shield captain without good reason.

The only thing I can really think of for reasons to bring them is as a spread out deepstrike shield with arae-shrikes, and despite how crazy those are you're paying at least 300-400pts for the privilege.

Fair point, actually. I suspect most Archmagi have a good few backup bodies for different occasions. A fight between them and a Dark Eldar Haemonculus Coven would probably be like a giant game of Nidhogg, they'll just keep respawning.

>>51881160
Entire book is a mess, so it's hard to tell. From fluff standpoint, it makes sense for them to be better than standard marines(plus they are ML2), and two disciplines are shit enough that it's not overpowered. Likewise, it should be easy enough to just copy paste "generate" to their entry.

On the other hand, pretty much no one else gets to pick, including Magnus and Ahriman, so it's weird. In the end, it feels decently powerful but not bullshit so most people seem willing to roll with RAW.

Need some advice for a new 30k player.

Friend wants to run a 30k Campaign, I'm representing Loyalists with another couple of guys.

I'm torn between Fists, Scars or a Shattered between the two.

He wants three lists, one standard, one for offensive deployment and one for defensive.

Can anyone offer any advice? I'm finding it hard to wrap my head around things.
>>
>>51881534
Either legion can create those lists but I believe Fists can make them easier.

>standard
Do whatever.

>offensive
deep striking terminators, Templars, sniper vets and storm shields mean you have amazing offensive capabilities. Lots of rites of war synergise well with your legion rules and equipment.

>defensive
Use The Stone Gauntlet RoW and hide in cover while everyone with a shield gets +1T and your BS5 bolters and tank hunting heavy squads take everything out.
>>
I have 20 Volkite chargers coming along with 2 sets of combi-weapons. My plan was to use the Volkite for 2 Terror squads, but then I remembered that terminators can use it, too. Should I use some of the Volkite on the terminators or just give them the combi-weapons?

I magnetised 5 tartaros termis, 2 arms each + weapons for 6 magnets per termi for a total of 30 magnets, and all this took maybe 2 hours. And I sure as hell didn't work efficently.

Magnetising weapons is super simple, especially if you can use a 1 mm drill on the weapon. You should be able to do all 50 of the weapons in around 1,5 hours.

And did you just seriously claim that it would take lots of time to set up? It's magnets, not fucking screwing on a bolt. You can literally throw the models and the correct weapons into a box and shake for a bit and they should attach properly.

I know 2x1 mms fit in plastic hands for 40k marines, and the terminator combibolters/plasma blaster from BoP. Looking at my volkites they should fit, but it will be a tight fit so you probably want to drill an aiming hole using a 1x1 mm drill first.

Figured I should show you the difference between plasma blaster with 2x1 mm and a volkite with 1x1 mm. The main problem with using a 2x1 mm in a resin volkite is the thinness that happens around the weapon grip, which means you will have to drill closer to the back of the hand than I did with my 1x1 mm. To be fair, no-one used him before Scoria came out either. A regular Archmagos with a trait for Knights, decent melee and a super-Smash isn't brilliant compared to an Archimandrite or a kitted out Archmagos with a Paragon Blade and an actual helpful Arcana. Personally I think if he needs any balancing at all, make the Sceptre a 50 or 60pt upgrade, so he's on the right cost tier. It's not the killing Primarchs thing, it's that he does it for cheap, and that makes deathstar players sad and costs them in Spartan sales.

>>51881964

Yeah, but the proliferation of characters like that was mostly the reason for all the generics, there's this idiotic notion that proficiency in herohammer mathhammer fights is all that matters. I was doing the maths here when Inferno came out, and frankly it's far easier to just shoot them.

>>51881858

Well, honestly it's not the damage output that needs to be changed on Primarchs, it's that they're being made impossible to hurt. Primarchs were in a nice spot prior to Inferno, they were powerful buffers and challenge monsters that ate points and could be handled if you were smart. Now they're just becoming mandatory sledgehammers. Not even Scoria is like that, Mechanicum can deal just fine without him.

>>51882039

I was never here for most of that, I wish I had been. My army currently includes no named characters and I often get asked why Satarael or Scoria aren't around, and the answer is that this is a Taghmata fleet that doesn't include a Cybernetica Magos from the other end of the galaxy who is currently in prison. Running into Typhon, Morturg and Mortarion at once only makes sense if it's pre-Crusade Apoc, not 2k.

You could exchange all their ccw arms for additional heavy bolters on all of them.

>>

Oh, for ironwing you've got tank hunters so Heavy bolters should probs be dodged because tank hunter dreads are amazing. Otherwise you're paying nearly 400 points for a team of six HBolters that gain nothing from your Rite. Consider either CC dudes with at least a chainfist, or backline units with dual lascannons. Oddly enough, plasma cannons become one of the more versatile options with Tank Hunters, since they can threaten both heavy infantry and light/medium vehicles.

>>51882797
It's a better question to ask which ones CAN'T.
It's mostly a question of whether bolter tactical or veteran tactical squads are or are not an optimal build for your legion's troops.
There's a handful of legions for whom assault squads are better than tactical squads as troops, but you can play Pride of the Legion and that basically makes ground-based shooty marines worthwhile for everyone.

World Eaters are the only ones who present a bit of a problem, because it's very difficult or expensive to make their optimal troop build (chainaxe blobs) with the Calth box.
>>
>>51882846

>>
>>51882797
All legions can be physically built using BaC and BoP and while some legions favour infantry heavy lists over others all legions can run an effective infantry list.

Since the answer is basically any of them which legions do you like? Are you attracted to a certain play style?
>>
>>51882932

My top 3 (not in any order, really) are Iron Warriors, Blood Angels and Emperor's Childrens.
>>
>>51882846
Me gusta.

I've been looking forward to these in order to convert the shields for that Space Marine starter box Termie praetor, and a spare for any other termie character I want in future.
If you make an optimal unit of IF Cataphractii, you get 3++ on the majority of the unit and 2 assault cannons in the back. Pretty good IMO.

>Does FW use the "use the base the model came with" rule?
I think there's leeway, if you want to make your own scenic bases roughly the same size, or have square-based ex-fantasy models, they work. And of course old models that came with 25mm would be recommended to have 32mm nowadays, but can work with 25mm.
Do what you feel is necessary to make a good model without gaming the system by making the bases too big or too small.

>>51883161
He's the anon who wants to use the Rogue Trader Leman Russ instead of Forge World's Leman Russ.

In this case, I'd actually recommend making a scenic base as wide as FW's Leman Russ, with some kind of thing for him to stand on to make him as tall as FW's Leman Russ. Making LR a much smaller target for ranged fire, and take up less space in melee, is definitely gaming the system.

Having medics more fragile than the dudes they're suppose to patch up going with them kinda defeats the whole purpose of bringing them. Unless the marines would spend considerable effort keeping them alive and making sure the humans can keep up with them, the medics would be the first casualties most of the time.
The whole point of apothecaries is that they can keep up with the marines and go where ever they go, and don't waste room in transport vehicles with somebody without the same combat capability.

You migh as well model all your marines with two arms tied behind their back. It's just dumb.

I would say that it would be best to do some proper scenic bases for them, Russ especially, since the Armour Elevegar or whatever it's called works on models in base contact, so you'll be buffing yourself against shooting with a small profile and gimping yourself in melee, not that he needs it. As it affects most of the situations he'll be in more than say, an Archmagos, I'd say you should get a decent approximation. Do use some of the room for giving the Wolves some chew toys :).

Skitarii-augmented solar auxiliaries have accompanied the legionaries through thick and thin. Having earned their respect, a few auxilia have been inducted directly into the Legion's service--namely a few Biologist techpriests who now aid the under-strength Apothecarion.

Ok, the spelling errors are getting out of hand. You should also check the warhammer community article about Thousand Sons in Inferno, which claims : "Even the most basic of their warriors have latest psychic powers"

For a big company as GW is this is rediculus. It makes them look like some kickstarter just beginning bunch of amatures.

As long as they're correctly based and slightly converted I'd be cool with it. I was looking for some Biologis Tech-priest Enginseers, as well as one to be my Force Commander and those are about perfect, so thanks for the inadvertent help.

Not sure about the exact statline of an Apothecary, but I would suspect you'd need to add a little extra armour. At the moment it may be fluffy, but it would feel no more like a proxy than a conversion, of that makes sense. Add some more armour and maybe a chain/power sword or whatever they have and it's all good.

the problem is that he can't do his job of deleting sergeants and characters, because his shots lack the AP to do anything. you're basically fishing for 5+ to hit, and him failing his armor save. and if its a consul or decked out sergeant you're looking at him doing this 2~3 times to make his points back. he becomes a lot meaner against stuff like veteran squads where he can fish out special weapons for fun; more or less just point him towards the most expensive plebs on the field and go fishing for special weapons.

No.
>>
>>51884772
what place do you come from with all these fun abbreviations.
drop the vigilator, give your delegatus some stuff, probably turn one of the vet squads into a melee blob to hang with the delegatus, you have like no AT worth its name, (guessing deathblossom means akan+missile launcher) maybe change one of the vet squads to a machine destroyer 10 man squad with ML's. so you have no at, no bodies to hold objectives or fight of deathguard inf blobs. but I guess it could be fun.
>>
>>51884809
Why, yes, almost no AT if that means dealing with AV14, everything else I guess that can be glanced to death with the dreadnoughts.

RAC= twin-linked autocannon
ML= Missile Launcher (twin linked in the mortis dreadnought)
MB=Melta bomb
HB=Heavy bolter

Deathblossom: 2 Storm cannons (heavy 6, S7, AP 3, sunder), 2 twin-linked volkite caliver, phosphex launcher.

Blobs will be shoot by the sniper veterans, seeker squad and everything I can (like, the scorpius (S8 AP 3, small blast, heavy 1+1D3 if don't move)

The Delegatus is just there to unlock Veterans as troops, he don't need any gear, and the vigilator is also another seeker with a sabotage fun attack.
>>
>>51884901
guess it goes to show that no one should shitpost with a fever, somehow missed that you had a scorpius completely and read the deathblossom as a deredeo :^)

looks good then I guess, a bit concerned for your vet squads only being five man anyway, they disappear pretty fast. and AL have a very nice ability to put huge blobs close to the enemy - but you do you anon :^)
>>
>>51884772
You'll probably find you get more mileage out of fewer, 10-dude sniper squads that lots of 5-man units. 5-man units often don't survive that long in 30k, unless they have something extra to keep them safe.

>>51884901
Your delegatus is a walking Slay The Warlord point. Any chucklefuck sergeant can take him down.

So what's the usual way to crack Leviathan Dreadnoughts? Playing my first 30k game soon with my nascent Mechanicum army and apparently I'm going up against one at 2k. Reductor list, with a couple Fearless Thrall squads, two min Thallax, some Medusas and a plane that can either be a Lightning or a Vulturax for now. Also have a magnetised Knight if any of the variants help. World Eaters, expecting the Leviathan and Angron/Butchers in a Storm Eagle. Doubt the Adsec will help much, but they're cheap and I need scoring.

>>
>>51884982
Well, figured that a MSU approach with infiltrating AL would be fun. Max sized vets would mean less units -thus less target saturation- and potentially less threats.
>>
>>51885196
I definetly think there's a place for MSU, my 3k list contains both a 5 man destroyer squad, a 5 man sniper squad and a 3 man bike squad, but I'm pretty caught up in the hammer and anvil ideal where you have a solid line of tacticals and then you have MSU strike elements that pick apart the enemy specialists.

>whole army has 6" move, will easily be outmanuevered

I see what you're going for and I like it, but the execution isn't there. You might wanna drop an HQ and a dread or two, change your vets into ten-mans, maybe get some Rhinos or such like, and grab yourself something to kill AV14. AL is about being flexible, and that list will only work with infiltrate as your MT, and then only if you get initiative.
It's got promise, but it lacks adaptability

Reading the fluff about the Custodes we know so far, it seems a little odd that they're described as "The best disciplined force in the galaxy" when Mechanicum forces will never run, obey orders perfectly and are entirely fine with working with whoever you want. Same with their weapons, too. They're cool, but plainly not as advanced as something like a Titan Vortex missile. If they were described as "Most skilled" or some other bollocks it would make more sense, but then the Emperor's Children and the Space Wolves would be salty.

I just don't particularly like the concept of a hyper-elite order of supersuperhumans who have no personality and are better at everything, honestly. Is there any room for Your Dudes with them?

I use 1/16 diameter stuff for better holds, 1/32" for guns, 1/16" for wrists, and 1/16" at the shoulders (you need some movement on power armor if swapping between combis and regular bolters)

I get mine from K&J magnetics, good prices and excellent customer service.

>I just don't particularly like the concept of a hyper-elite order of supersuperhumans who have no personality and are better at everything
How ironic, considering marines were basically this right up until custodes were introduced.
>>
>>51886464
My computer never runs either, but I wouldn't call it disciplined. Discipline is a learned trait, not inherent.

>I just don't particularly like the concept of a hyper-elite order of supersuperhumans who have no personality and are better at everything, honestly.

But you're ok for a faction of machines to be like this?
>>
>>51886464
There's not and it's hard to even fluff any of them for narrative story since the "muh orders are from the emperor, do what I say or die" issue.

And when it comes to establish fluff, they've only been with either primarchs or the emperor

>different sized magnets connecting to each other
Not asking offensively, just curiously, but why?
>>
>>51886464
I'd argue there is small amounts of 'your dudes' room, but not in the traditional sense. The best way to use them might be as a foil to your dudes in a blackshield or shattered legion setup
>>
>>51886596
Different thicknesses, not different diameters.

Anyway, disc magnets unless the larger one is 2.5x+the diameter of the smaller will always try to lock along the center axis.

That and the pic had some of my initial 1/10 dia test magnets

They very much have personalities and flaws, that's the only reason we have 18 armies of them rather than the one. Custodes have none of that so far, although they may get it in time. If they gain some flaws, take a couple losses and have some actual personality I will change my mind, but so far all the fluff I've read shows them effortlessly slaughtering everything with less emotion than the literal robots. At least Vorax and Scoria's bots are capable of RAEG.

>>51886545

Most of the Mechanicum forces do have actual minds, and they're very much not the best at everything. Automata are slow, predictable and vulnerable to Malifica and loss of control if their masters are killed. The rest of the mindless dudes are not anywhere near skilled, they're expendable bullet fodder.
Also, not elite. You want to be an Adsecularis for some damn reason, ask your local Magos and enjoy.
All the rest have minds and personalities, and certainly have flaws, like Decima the angry Reductor, or Arkhan Land.
You do have a point about the discipline thing, but there's little practical difference in combat. Doesn't matter whether you're too brave to run or just physically incapable of feeling fear, you're still fighting.

>>51886614

Interesting idea, but it's then hard to find an actual reason for them to be there because >>51886568. They never actually do anything besides show up and win immediately, and most of the time stand around doing nothing on Terra.

Wasn't the thing about Custodes that they were more a squad of one man armies that share the same battlefield rather than a disciplined unit that fights as a team ? Or does disciplined not mean trained to work as a cohesive force ? Unless it doesn't (most) legions are more disciplined than the custodes. Or does disciplined now mean individually skilled as well ?

Custodes also becoming autists just like all enhanced humans just smells of lazy writing. They're each an individual project that takes a lot of time and effort to train, teach, and develop. If anything that should mean they each have personality, rather than that they lose it.
>>
>>51887024
they have personality and such, they just lack (the opportunity) to excise their own will and exist as meaty meatslabs that good ol' empy can hide behind. the guys in first heretic struck me as independent black women who don't need no astartes - having a lot of pride and arrogance but ultimately being subservient to the emperor(beloved by all)
>>
>>51887065
There is literally nothing wrong with being subservient to the Emperor (beloved by all).
>>
>>51887117
But what if you didn't vote for him :^)
>>
>>51887140
I wonder how many of the primarchs would actually vote against him in an election. Angron, I guess, as he's got a pocketful of resentment and isn't inclined to think through the consequences before acting. Most of the others probably would though. Heck, even the almost-renegade Curze might approve of Emps's "obey me or we'll fucking flatten you" message.
>>
>>51887186
Guilliman would vote for himself.

Quoth the new WH Community site article:
>
Luckily, no force in the galaxy is better trained, more disciplined, or more expertly armoured and armed than the Talons of the Emperor. A single Custodian can take on whole squads of lesser warriors...

I mean, SoS are reasonably disciplined, but the Custodes just aren't, like the Space Wolves, and even the Wolves work as a group roughly when they reach the melee fight, even if they don't really beforehand. I did think that your interpretation was correct, but new fluff says that they're all completely robotic and perfect in combat. When the literal combat robots are less emotionless and more disciplined than the "Paragons of Humanity" you done fucked up.

>Shame FW didn't keep the old numbering for anything other than PA. Instead of MkI Rhino we got the Deimos and instead of MkI land raider we get the Proteus.

They were never *just* the mkI's. The original Rhinos have been like Mk35-c-iii's since forever. Don't recall LR's ever having a numerical or pattern designation either - they were just Land Raiders, it never came up until the new kit.
>>
>>51887286
iirc needle pistols are basically laspistols, but i think some of the newer designs make them look more like syringes
>>
>>51887286
See the thing beside the chainsaw? I always assumed that was a needle pistol.

I don't know the GW parts, but Anvil Industries do a part that's good as a needle pistol as part of a set with other stuff for minor HQ characters.
>>
>>51887325
Needle pistols actually fire a crystallized dart of toxin, at extremely high velocity. Once the dart penetrates it dissolves into the target.

Quite nasty, so anything with a longer but very small barrel will do
>>
>>51887449
the older fluff at least had it that Imperial versions used a low-power laser beam to carry the toxin shards

>>51887352
just part of the narthecium afaik
