Worst Thread

OK. So cynide has made a BB game before and with BB2 they decided to streamline it and go for that mass appeal. I.e. lets not bother the players with information that they dont absolutely need to know and take out all that fiddley do you want to use skills business.

So they looked back to BB1 and asked themselves what aspects confused people the most.

Top of their list was probably people complaining about inducements. Before i go to my example let me say this is clearly their fault for not making it clearer in BB1 how inducements work.

BB1 asks Team B would you like to add money to by inducement. B says fuck yeah I want a wizard and tosses 60k into the pot.

Team Bs TV is now 1060, he gets 30k in inducments and bitches to Cyanide that the indument system is broke and bugged. C y anide doesnt have the ability to self reflect and realize the did nothing to explain the system and says "I can do Better" and the at the next availible opportunity does.much worse, realize they coded in a fucking monstrosity and implement the bank rule cause its easier than recoding stuff.

Also RL tournaments sometimes use the bank rule right? Thatll stop people from complaining.

Just to add to the list on minor niggles with the 2016 rules: the mine card only adds +1 to injury rolls caused by the blast rather than being treated as if it had mighty blow like in the CRP.

No idea if any of the other cards have gone through similar tweaks, rebalances or fuck ups.

I've fed the stunty and secret information into the computron, This has greatly increase the average power level of /tg/ league. Predictions? The calculations should be done soon.

If you already have AG5, then you might consider leap. At AG5 its only downside compared to dodge is lack of the bonus when blocked.
Leap does make him weaker against blitzes, but instead he can dive cages shamelessly and becomes near impossible to pin down with TZs.

I've heard people flipflop back and forth between citadel and vallejo for this color or these types or whatever, but it all seems like arcane knowledge from on high. Basically, Necromantic are an agility team that can take a few hits in return for being crap at passes. Werewolves are fast and flesh golems are hard to remove from play.

Undead are more bashy, with their mummies, but also lose a lot of the agility abilities, and are quite fragile between skeletons and lack of regen on ghouls.

Khemri are pure glass cannons. 4 tomb guardians with strength 5. They fall to pieces when they get punched though.

As other people pointed out, this exists because they split undead into two teams, each taking half the players and building on their strengths.

It's like how elves got split into High Elves and Wood Elves, but they decided to keep the old team in (in the vidya, I think they are called Pro Elves)

My Fine gentlemen(and lady) it is because: I Love /tg/ league. I love it's Games and it's plays. I love it's tryhards and its luckers. I love it's pitches and it's bios. I love it's braggarts and it's self-conscious noobs. I love it's drama and specs and rivalries. I even love Penis. Most of all I LOVE IT'S OC. The pictures, the parodies, the gifs, the songs, the bots, the lewd, the soul. It is what makes tg great. And next season I think that's what we need to return to. A little over two seasons ago there was drama, and that was okay. And then the season after that there was a fracturing, new people but lower numbers. And it was in this time where things settled, calmed down, entered the post honeymoon phase. We lost the spark, but I don't think forever. I think with a little encouragement and a lot of love and a little Lube we will make this league great again. And for my part next season I will be returning to post-game sideline commentary not every game, not even most games, maybe just the games I managed to watch fully, maybe just the game people pull out as great examples of "fun." And like my predecessor before me I will try to make it short and sweet and good

So next season do something, anything. Review games, drs picture, Photoshop pitches, anything. Working together we can make this Grand league "fun" again. thank you.

I've read that Vampire teams suck, but I decided to try a campaign with them on normal and after 3 games they've done fairly well with 2 wins and 1 draw. The only problem I see is their bloodlust or getting ganked, but thats dealt with by thinking out your positioning for easy access to thralls and preventing your vampires from getting surrounded. Do vamps build terribly into higher TV's, what am I missing for people to say vampires suck?

I just bought the BloodBowl 1 vidya to play around with until BB2: Legendary Edition rolls around. Is there like a beginner's guide anywhere? Cause the tutorial just drops you off with a very, very rough idea of what you can do and not what you should do. Or would I be best served by simply reading the full rulebook that's conveniently included in the game?

That's great right up until those injury rolls start filling your dugout with KO'd and badly injured Thralls and your team basically implodes. Any remotely competent player (i.e. not the campaign AI) is going to target your Thralls to increase the speed at which this happens.

That said, once you get a few core skills on them so you're not so reliant on rerolls they definitely start to come into their own.

Since everyone else is meming at you:

Having a full roster and 6 rerolls is a problem.

By having that, it increases your TV for little benefit, since you are unlikely to have all your players die, and unlikely to use 6 rerolls.

What that means, is that your TV is inflated, and so a team with fewer players, fewer rerolls, and more skills will be matched against you, and you will lose, since skills are much better than more players or more rerolls.

Even someone with fewer players and fewer rerolls but the same number of skills as you plays you, then they will have a much lower TV, and get loads of inducements to use on you, which are also better than spare players and spare rerolls.

Essentially, you are handicapping yourself by "spending" team value on stuff that doesn't help you.

Instead, get rid of all that and "spend" your money. If you are playing BB2, you can buy coaches and sell them instantly to make the money go away. IIRC in BB2 if you buy petty cash before a match, it also doesn't count against you, but it does in Fumbbl and BB1.

You're better off just saving about 150k for buying new players if yours die and intentionally wasting the rest.
