How do you know her? If you got her to play a game with you without having to play because it's a tournament, then your spaghetti spilling is probably enough under control to the point that nobody here could really help you a lot.

If you know you'll play her tomorrow because she "has to" just try not to force jokes or be flirty/creepy and just play it like if you'd play any of the dudes in your store. Also don't try to get on her good side by praising her army paintjob to high heavens when it's unprecedented, nor force any fluff talk when she isn't obviously into the stuff.

Kind of new to DEldar. Stomped my Tau friend recently when he held back from using the most powerful units. He vowed to go all out next time. 1250pt game.

How do I hunt riptides (and other suits) as DEldar?

I was thinking deep strike dark lance ravagers, blasterborns on venoms, and an incubi unit on a venom dedicated to assaulting them. Taking splinter cannons on the venoms to handle infantry while everything else does its thing.

I wanted to make an Archon whose sole purpose was hunting riptides but I couldn't get an AP 2 weapon, and Drazhar uses demiklaives which have 3 ap instead of the 2 on a single.

Thoughts? Is this the best course of action or am I mistaken?

Don't stomp her into oblivion. There was this solid 8/10 who was playing the other day as Guard. It was her 2nd game and this Marine player went full tournament list style on her even though she specifically asked for a casual and friendly game. She brought her Rough Riders and some Sisters allies and got shit stomped in 2 turns. She was a good sport but you could see she was feeling down. People who came to watch the match asked what they were playing and what their armies and people were and once they found out they gave a lot of "Dude, really?"

So, wanna keep my list in the Black Templar spirit of actually trying to get some dudes into freaking melee. Should I keep my Rhino Crusaders equipped with Boltguns to be at maximum shooting after disembarking and not being able to charge anyway and only have 20-27 attacks on the charge or drop the shooting potential after getting out in favor of more attacks in assault?

The Renegades list can be used to represent a wide variety of forces from crappy mech guard (what I play), ogryn deathstars, discount Stormtroopers, mass waves of infantry, to full chesedick hyper-efficient artillery spam.

The Renegade list that won the LVO is the later. He also combined the artillery with a nigh-unkillableTzeentch daemon combo and summoning.

I was just rolling some dice.

More worrisome is I was using my Tzeentch dice and I was rolling 4 dice at a time each and on three occasions I rolled three 6s and a 4 or a 5.

Dude, we spend a shit-load of time, money, and effort on these damn things. It's absolutely normal to name and write fluff for them if you're the more creative type of person, especially if you're playing an army that you like the fluff of rather than just the crunch.

Question though - do you have the Traitor Legions supplement? Because I'd seriously recommend you get it. It's hugely useful for any Chaos player Yes, even Word Bearers or Iron Warriors.

To talk about your list though - what is it exactly you want them to do and what other types of armies do you expect to face?

As-is, your force is a little schitzo.

The biggest offender I can think of is the Predator. Either make it full-Lascannons, or replace the turret-las with the Autocannon. With its current armament, you're kind of "wasting" at least one of your weapons each turn no matter what you're firing at, as the Heavy Bolters aren't effective versus armor and the Lascannons are overkill against infantry.

The Plasma Gun seems a little odd, too. While it's good for taking out heavy infantry and light vehicles, its well-roundedness means that it needs to be used en masse in order to be effective against any amount of either. I'd personally replace it with either a Heavy Bolter for anti-infantry if you want it to camp (which I'm assuming you do) or give it a melta for effective anti-tank.

Alternatively, just replace the Chaos Marine squad with an additional Cultist squad, give both of them Heavy Stubbers, and let them sit back while your Rhino-squad engages the foe closer up.

It's not a BAD list, but it does lack polish and experience to actually be effective on the table.

I get your point about the Predator. I'd like to make it full lascannon to be my anti-armor solution, but I'll need to salvage the points from somewhere. Possibly by dropping the squad with the plasma gun for more cultists like you suggested.

The other CSM squad is intended to fire and maneuver to give the Rhino group some cover and take out any tough-looking things I don't want to assault. The predator is my tankbuster, since the rest of my list is infantry. The cultists are cannon fodder / mobile cover for the shooty CSM squad.

I'm not really sure what I'll be facing. There are a couple of stores in my area where people play but I'm not sure how to set up a beginner-tier 500 point game or what people will bring.

Here's a question I'm confused about rules-wise. Because the Rhino is a dedicated transport for my close combat dudes, they can start the game embarked on it. What I can't figure out from the rules is if my Chaos Lord can start the game attached to that squad, and as a result also be embarked at deploy time.

Is that a thing I can do?

Almost finished my Start Collecting Skitarii box and need some fluff for my dudes to please my inner child.

So far I've got:

>prototypes stop working when Mars and other Forge Worlds try it out because no Orks
>Archmagos never gets any praise and barely supplies because he "never does his job properly"
>blames Orks sabotaging everything they send out making him incredibly suspicious of everyone
>constant cycle of being supplied with new tech to restore, only restoring it because Orks think the metal men really can make everything work, the now working stuff not working off planet, the Archmagos going on the field himself and brawling with whatever Warboss is currently on his doorstep to blow some steam and then getting the next assignment

Mostly need some feedback on how that sounds and some name ideas for Forge World and Magos because fuck am I bad with names.

Might actually also sit down and see if I can't come up with some customized Magos by editing Cawl's statline a bit and changing the weaponry/warlord trait around. Was thinking of giving him a Heavy Phosphor Flamer (basically the Kastelans' flamer in heavy with Luminagen and MAYBE AP 3 at close range) and a unique melee weapon in form of a disproportionally huge AdMech cane that he uses as a mace. Maybe base stats like a Power Maul but Master Crafted, with Haywire, Two-Handed and AP 2, though I feel like that is pushing it and would need some serious testing. Though I guess Haywire at like 7 or 8 strength is often going to be pointless anyway.

Blasterborn are pretty good at hunting Riptides. Take a purge coterie (the SC! Formation), upgrade the warriors to Trueborn, give them blasters, give the Archon a blaster and WWP(I guess you don't NEED it), and go hunt some Riptides.

Also, feel free to ignore them and go after their market lights and objective holders instead.

It's full of cliches, the Farseer is a caricature and should be ashamed of what her leadership brought about, the Marines are caricatures, Every single character on the Chaos side is a walking stereotype and they FUCKING SHAT ALL OVER the Alpha Legion's MO, Khorne Lord uses a Manreaper, Tzeentch SORCERER invokes Khorne, etc.

Overall a solid 11/10 would pleasure myself to Sindri's voice again.

If you liked it, play DoW2 and CHaos Rising, it goes into a little more depth about the story and salvages some of it. Dark Crusade (pick Marines) optional, but recommended.

The only reason the Fall of the Eldar wasn't the "Fall of the Galaxy" is because a Cryptek decided to build some pillars on Cadia, It was dumb luck. Do you understand the implications here? The Eldar nealy blew up the galaxy. They are the real bad guys!

A marine or a faithful guy in the Imperium could be told to do this leaders and he would to it gladly.

With the Tau it's about intentions. They are not overtly hostile, they don't hate alien life, and they seek to unite all the races of the galaxy in enlightenment and peace.

The other races other than the Eldar desire the utter extermination and/or enslave of all life.
