I thought the Vets final was meh.

It reminded me more of basketball or handball games, where the teams constantly spam points and it all boils down to scoring faster than the opponent. Here we had something similar, where 2 elf teams pulled out 2+ dodges 3+ pass elf bullshit in turns and scored every 2.

Other than that (and probably the most important issue with the final), it was very one-sided from the 2nd half, where the dice clearly favored one coach over the other.

In before someone points out "bash v bash is boring" I would like to say this: you're right - it is, just like elf v elf, JUST LIKE ANY OTHER FUCKING MIRROR GAME, so that's precisely why I prefer watching games where the teams have different strategies and skill sets to overcome the opponent.

I liked the rookie final more.

I must be blind, since I'm a new player, but where in the rulebook does it say declaring a blitz costs 1 movement? Had my first legit game and that's how the guy forced every blitz. I just assumed I was allowed to move my normal MA and throw a block somewhere along that time.

There's literally no difference between journeymen and normal players except for the loner trait. Even if you are trying to funnel all your SPP into positionals, you can just re-hire new linos and enjoy players with no loner.

Played my first game yesterday, this Bloodbowl thing 'ain't bad. Facing off against a Minotaur, a Troll and an Ogre was somewhat terrifying though.

Playing Dark Elves, 'cos I had an ancient team I'd bought at a swap-meet lying around. Currently my lineup is looking like:
6 Linemen
3 Blitzers (Block)
1 Experienced Blitzer (Block, Dodge)
1 Runner

1 Apothecary
1 Fan-Factor

I kinda want to try to save up and get a Witch Elf, but I'm not sure if this is the right way to go. Any suggestions for a new coach? Ideas for Plays, Skills to pick up and new things to buy would all be appreciated.

overall bloodbowl 2016 doesn't change much

the biggest change is removing piling on from the game, but allowing you to use it as an optional rule where you need to use a team re-roll to pile on (it still places you prone) which is actually worse than removing it from the game.

Besides that there's some additional rules to league management, along with making a house rule official (picking 3 players and rolling 1d3 to award mvp aka no more dead mvp awards)

It's good and bad because it allows you to quickly skill up big guys, and it's bad because dead mvps is fucking hilarious

Do you think GW will ever release more models for existing teams (such as Big Guys, and more Blitzers, Gutter Runners etc for people who want to make the default two-of-everything teams suck less)? You know, it's funny. In the Blood Bowl world it's highly implied that vampires tend to.... swing wherever their thirst takes them. Of course any vampire would be ecstatic to drink from the supple neck of a young and beautiful maid, but they would be more than comfortable with a substitute of the rougher sex. Also i would suggest smoothing the highlights just a bit with a couple of glazes, no need to make it super smooth,but a bit would really make it look better(if you only care about how they look on the table no need to do this as it's barely noticeable from a distance, but it's nice when you pick up the model).Also you went a bit out of position with the red. these remarks might be useless since it's wip and maybe you know these things already,but i guess it might help)

Eh, they're around where regular Goblins are in terms of balance, I'd say.

Less potential for zany shenanigans, more potential for just outright murder, but at the end of the day it's still really easy to just send all the goblins into the casualty box and not have to worry about whatever rule-breaking positionals are still left on the pitch.

Those points haven't gone unnoticed, but I appreciate the feedback immensely. I know I need to do a few more layers on the red, as well as highlights for it, and haven't even touched the knife yet. And little spots all over that just need tiny touch ups.

And you're right, the general consensus I have gotten so far is to wash it down with nuln oil, then re-touch the highlights, keeping source of light in mind.

Progress on my BB field. magnets installed on the fences and buildings. Still need to finish painting the buildings and construct another for the opposite side of the field.

Also, gotta finish details on the dugouts. I've build the dividing walls, just need to paint and glue them in. Then, a surgeons table, some coffins and benches for the respective areas of the dugouts.

Oh, and the scoreboard which is under the commentators box. Gotta finish that, too.

Yes if you like fun. No if you like winning and playing chaos to their strengths. Rarely do you have to do agility stuff with chaos warriors and when you do, agility 3 is enough. The stat up is kind of wasted when all you do whole game is just throw blocks. MA5 is also not that good to utilize it well.

It really depends on what the rest of your team has. If this is a fresh TV1000 Chaos then I would probably pass because CWs are slow, the TV added isn't worth it without any block.

It is fun to take it, but I just don't think the MA5 is good enough. Beastman I would take +AG in a heartbeat.

Do you have a system for keeping track on which players you've already moved this turn? The turn-the-model-around trick looks weird and sacrifices the visuals of two teams of models facing off against each other (and then you might as well just use tokens instead of models).

Update on my Skaven Gutter Runner. Happy with how it has turned out, though I haven't washed it in Nuln oil as was suggested, cause frankly I'm scared of fucking it up. This is probably the best model I've painted to date, so just trying to build up the nerve to throw a wash on it.

I find that turning the models works just fine for me but you could always use numbered markers moved unto or off of your roster if you prefer. The bonus of this method is that if you made one each for Blitz, Foul, and Pass, you could keep track of their use as well.
