The problem with giving Space Marines shit is that you either have to go with something super generic or give something to every chapter, or some will feel left out.

Case in point: My Imperial Fists-playing ass, literally every Iron Hands player.

So is GW going to find a way to bring back Sanguinius, Curze, Ferrus Manus and the other primarchs that are almost certainly dead in some way? Because it seems unfair and unlikely that some legions will get their primarch centerpiece and others won't.

Really sucks that the lore written years and years ago about the Heresy doesn't match up to GW's plans nowadays.

who do you guys think are going to feature in future gathering storms?

I mean, there's got to be a Triumvirate of Chaos one along the way, which means hopefully new Abaddon if they don't just squat him, and other than that they have a massive range - maybe a new demon character, maybe a L&TD character instead of a CSM for once, maybe a fallen primarch (the lion or mortarion) - except all these new models have been character sized at the most.

Then following previous trends Tau are going to get their own book. I remember a new Shadowsun leak a while back and even if that's not true she's probably a fair bet. Apart from that I'm really, really hoping for Anghor Prok or a Vespid queen or something, that'd make my fucking year, instabuy.

I would hope Orks get their own book but they're probably going to roll them in with the other xenos that are left, for one necron, one ork, one tyranid character. No idea what any of those would be apart from maybe Ghazzy.

Then we're done. tldr my predictions are:

I hate to say it, but GW's looks more primarch-like
He's in motion, his armor is overly detailed but in a way that makes sense in the setting and that is basically just gilding all over, and the pose is more action-oriented. He also just *looks* bigger - Without to scale, FW's could just be a normal dude, and the way he's holding that sheath just emphasizes that for me. The flaming sword in one hand and the poewr fist / bolter in the other looks like he's gonna fuck some shit up with things that aren't meant to be sheathed like some human fucks made it.

Both are good in their own way.
The 30k one is guilliman the statesman, the master of the 500 worlds. It's a man who would most definitely say "I should build an empire rather than helping father". This is the son of Konor, who took a broken land and forged it into a prosperous empire. This is a man who can wistfully stare off into the disrance thinking about battle strategies as he poes for a picture.
The 40k one is a man of action. His armor isn't his own, he's not standing for a portriat, he's been woken up, told to get in some power armor and go save the imperium. His face almost indicates the burden he carries: he's the last hope of all mankind, and he bears a grimace of sorts, unhappy being thrust into a role he never wanted. He's forced to defend an empire that goes against everything he holds dear, all for the sake of a man he never truly called his father.

But thats just my opinion.

I was thinking melta raptors and maybe a plasma squad as troops supported by AC Havoks as the baseline. I'd prefer lascanons, but they're sadly inferior and expensive. I want to fit some termies in there, too.

Basically, if you have lots of fast units/deep strikers, you can get away with not having rhinos. For example, my death guard use no rhinos, as there is enough fast moving and intimidating units to give my plague marines time to walk up.

Only thing is it doesn't apply to your vehicles in which case you'll be working with need for raptors and mobility. Back that up with a min strength gun line War band, and you have a good force.

To be honest I don't think 7th is a bad edition on these three criteria.

Only CAD, no formations etc.
No flyers
No Super heavies below 3000 pts.

May be restrictive but the game is better for it. Formations ruined this edition.

Traitor Legions supports them working as well as a team as any other group of Chaos Warriors. The way it focuses on the plural pronouns emphasizes that they work together, implement and carry out plans and strategies together, and work as a military formation.

But you are correct it is a short lore section. I do not totally discard BL as a lore source, but I do consider it at times questionable and consider codex content to override it as a primary source.
