My most recent character death was my level 4 Tiefling Paladin who got crit in the mouth for 50 damage close to the end of a combat, was straight up dropped dead (she had taken a beating beforehand).

So I am trying to make a Viscera Kineticist, since my DM is allowing the KoP books, and I'll admit I don't wholesale know what I am doing. Mostly because I've never touched a Kineticist before. So if I could get some tips in building a Kineticist that would be great! General idea is I would like to be a switch hitter if possible, eventually making use of utlity like Flesh Mask, evolutions, and Preserved Flesh if we can squeeze it in there. If switch hitting doesn't seem likely I'd like to try a ranged build then.

DM tends to go 25 point buy, 2 traits, can drawback for a third, and nothing first party is disallowed so all companions and stuff of the like are free game.

That's not what that feat does. An Eidolon has an actual hard limit on how many natural attacks it can have at once. Multiattack lowers the penalty on Secondary Natural Attacks from -5 to -2.

It's possible, but usually requires either a half-dozen feats or an archetype that actively hinders you otherwise.

An initiator could probably pull it off with more success, since they'll have maneuvers to back them up when they're otherwise needing to spend most of their feats on going into that style. But at that point, you're likely not even going to need the sword except for situational things like bypassing DR/hardness.

I'm still flip-flopping on which one is better for a Daring Champion with a Paladin dip--Order of the Star, or Order of the Dragon.

Star's upper-level abilities and lay on hands synergy, I feel, would be more beneficial to me, personally (especially since GM allowed me to keep Opportune Parry and Riposte from the pre-errata version of Daring Champion).

But on the other hand, I want to be able to grant those extra actions from Order of the Dragon and I expect that Survival might actually end up being a thing in this campaign.

Any thoughts?

The big thing is to pretend you're a sorcerer and pick out only things that you can see plenty of uses for. Get a crowd control that has no save or an easy one, a few utility things that will be a good boon, and the switch hitter idea is much easier if you take infusions that stack some debuffs instead of trying to go straight damage.

Yes, but don't overdo it. Stutter when nervous, like when you're talking to the person you like. Don't stutter in every fucking sentence, and make sure your character isn't fucking up all his verbal spell components. This is a motherly character, so currently has 5 ranks in heal.

The main problem I have currently with front lining is I was an Oracle of Nature and GM is letting me "reclass" but without stat changes, meaning I have negative Dex.

I did pick up Sanctuary to help that, the Wizard made me a few scrolls of Shield, and I "wasted" my first two feats on a familiar, so that can run to people for in-combat healing.

There's an elf and Horgus in your group, and both would be considered "white dudes". Hell, Horgus is arguably THE most useful out of all of them, because if you get him back to the city he can supply you with magical gear and healing items, and has what is arguably the most long-term useful benefit in the Mass Combat rules (less Consumption from your army, so it can march longer without needing to stop for resupplying).

So my Wiz finally hit level five and I'm starting to really look at crafting stuff. And I realized that every cool thing that I want to do costs a shit ton of gold(relative for to my level). I think I've only managed to get 400g so far.

Anyways, partial question is, what's good to craft to make money with? I have Craft Wondrous Item, as well as points into Armor, Weapons, Bows, Clockwork and Sculptors.

I'm working towards Craft Constructs too. My other question was, is it possible to make a Homunculus assistant, for maybe crafting and other things? Also do they have to look like evil midgets? Can't I make a human(medium?) sized one? Or maybe a specific type of golem?

I'm probabaly going to look into creating a Lab or something later too. For...things.

I love in Iron Gods how the chick at the end of the book explicitly won't surrender, won't stop, and hates the party for trying to stop her. That said, I am currently playing in a Rappan Athuk game that has really made me rethink party dynamics. Currently playing an unchained monk focusing on high saves and health. He's been interesting in that, even with how strong he is, it's still fun to lose to a dungeon that's clever.

Our last encounter was with a hellhound and a mummy, which should have been quite below our CR, but they fought together in interesting ways. The mummy's aura of despair set us up for a huge fire breath attack, and he had a ring of fire resistance that allowed them to cooperate. It was off the wall and pretty flavorful.

I'm also rolling out my own game for you guys soon. I don't let my political opinions affect my view of players, so don't feel afraid!

I'm not the GM, but I was just saying how the Summoner has a martial (Since comparing anything martial to something magic is just dumb) companion of equal level, good health, three nat attacks per turn, can transfer damage to and from the Summoner, all while having a great spell list. Even barbarians and slayers have their respective downsides. (On a side note, do you prefer Avenger or Stalker Vigilantes? Because I feel that Avengers really get the short end of the stick.)

The primary problem with the Swashbuckler as I understood it was that they playtested it along with the other classes.

Feedback was broadly "this class is garbage, please improve it so it isn't a complete joke."

The person working on the Swashbuckler threw the feedback away without looking at it and released the class later almost completely unchanged. He THOUGHT he threw the "make this class stronger, it's very weak right now" comments in the garbage, but they ended up on the playtest Arcanist's feedback pile instead.

This is how the class that everyone called a garbage fire right from the playtest got approximately jack shit in revisions while the Arcanist, which came with concerns that the class was overpowered from the playtest, got BUFFED for final release.

Reread that shit. It's one attack, only if you're targeted and only if you're missed, and then you can do another at -5 if you get missed again, with feat investment to even get multiple AoOs. With a 1d6 + Str/Dex weapon basically.

And they even put in another caveat that basically means that each triggering attack would have to come from the same dude, because 2 or more want to flank you and prevent it.

I'd go the other way: it's STILL garbage. A two-hander will do like the same maximum damage as a one-hander landing all iteratives both times, but all of it being under your control.

Vigilante is in a weird spot for me. It's alright as-is, and has some playable stuff, especially with Avenger... But the parts of the class I actually like require Jolly content, or ARE Jolly content.
