GW is finally doing alright financially without having to rely on royalties from video game companies thanks to Rountree actually listening to what the shareholders and fans think/want.

It is my hope that they have the self-awareness now and sense to not AoS-ize 40k and simply just streamline it.

Releasing the Traitor Legions supplement only to make it irrelevant and unusable due to a colossal rules shift 2 months later doesn't make any sense.

I believe they are making the Eldar relevant to the story again with this update (it's three models and some fluff, remember that Celestine wasn't a SoB codex) as they were pretty much getting shafted in every incarnation of recent fluff, and wanted people to like the Eldar for reasons other than tabletop cheese.

Ynnead will not kill Slaanesh, as it's only an avatar. It represents the _hope_ that they will kill Slaanesh and return to their glory days, but since 40k has always been the story of perpetual 5-minutes-to-midnight, it won't change anything in the long run.

It's simply to give Eldar players a reason to be interested in the lore of their faction again.

Slaanesh isn't going anywhere.

I much prefer 40k to Fantasy actually. It has better lore, better models and the game felt more dynamic and action-packed.

Fantasy was simply a nice break from the no-holds-barred playstyle of 40k, where unit placement, movement and not getting flanked actually mattered.

Seeing as how they've not only released a book for Fabius Bile, Slaaneshi forces have been strong antagonists in many recent book releases, and there are strong rumors of a long-overdue plastic Keeper of Secrets on the way, I HIGHLY doubt that they would remove anything of Slaanesh.
