It just seems odd to have such nicely freehanded icons on a sloppily prepped model.

Come ON, I'm not that bad. The monstrosities are Biologis standard, it's just the Nid claws and Carapace, the Dark Lances, the Skaven plating and the Chaos launchers.

Also I just need to build and paint my Knight and I can get started. Going to be fun.

There ain't no way that FW is going to do resin versions of the custodes that GW has already made in plastic. Plastic has better profit margins, FW is overloaded with work as it is, and they don't like doing line troops anyway they'd rather be making the big and flashy stuff. You can expect more things like the grav tanks and dreadnought, a few special characters, and perhaps some weapon upgrades if you're lucky. The only reason to do resin infantry is if they're a significantly different option in the army list.

I find it kind of sad in some ways, a bit like the last stage of the Liquid boss fight in MGS4, where it's two old men at the limits of their endurance, sustained by unnatural technology, after spending their lives fighting so long in a war in the absence of which they would be (battle) brothers. ;_;

>>51308871
No, it isn't the rear sight, it's where the bolt pistol attaches to the plastic sprue. There's a nub or indenture left from it being cut off the sprue.

As for the backpack, FW replaces miscast ones, just provide pictures and an order number. Most Chinamen replace them too AFAIK.
>>
>>51308820
I'm surprised they aren't in wider use. Can't believe no one bulked up a Praetorian and inloaded Castellax kill-engrams before. Scoria was kind enough to lend me some custom blueprints.

I love Nid kits, most of the options are still there even if they're not in the book anymore.
Also got my hands on some MKIII carcasses from Istvaan, I'm sure I can do something with them.

There are different models of Land Raiders. Are there different models of Custodes?

Which is a different unit with its own rules. If you really expect FW to make their own version of the plastic Custodes with shields, swords and spears, you're in for a looooong wait. All you're gonna get are conversion kits to the existing models or completely different models for totally different units.

>They have tonnes of their own SM

Which existed before BaC and BoP. So they have no reason to just drop them as long as they got stocks and moulds, and people buy them.

They made their own land raider because it's a version of GW's original from way back in the day. It's also different on the table. Like >>51309003 says, other variants of tanks are generally upgrade kits anyway. The numerous varieties of power armour all date from a while back, and you may have noticed that since BaC came out they've largely released kits that combine with the plastic ones too. FW also have a lot on their plate what with carrying on HH, plus doing BloodBowl, the new Epic, and supposedly Necromunda and BFG too (not to mention stuff for AoS and 40k). The whole reason for doing some of the kits in plastic was to capitalise on their popularity and ease some of the load on FW's casting and sculpting facilities. There's literally no reason to think that they'd make resin versions of kits that they've released in plastic.

Most directors whom people say they are good aren't such well writers, rather they're good SCENE directors, like Zach Snyder and Sucker Punch.
Almost all of his scenes are worthy of being a desktop image, but the actual writing and story are mostly held up in cohesion because of the visuals.

Let him and Neil handle the visuals, let Nolan write the actual stuff in cooperation with...Graham McNeil?
>>
>>51310882
That is pretty much exactly what has gone wrong with sci fi/fantasy movies lately. All of the directors have learned how to make beautiful shots and now copy paste any franchise into the same visual effect-heavy formula (JJ Abrams). You can even see it in the sameness of every trailer they put out.

Nothing feels unique from the AAA content creators.

I thought about it at some point (even got a bunch of high elf heads), but then GW dropped the official plastic models and now I don't know. Haha oh shield Bulwark. You only need one model with defensive grenades to count for the whole unit. You can have all but two spread out to minimize blast exposure and still trigger it.

Why do you do this FW? First you keep spamming "Must always make sweeping advances" like you had a choice to begin with, now this?

Hey lads. Conversion/army idea: Wulfen legs + frost claw arms + Calth bodies, backpacks, bits and heads. Painted black, frost claws would be made to look like bone growths. I'll use them as Black Dragons/Wulfen in 40k and power sword Vets in 30k. Should I do it?

Reading the new space shark book

The breastplate bore in its centre an embossed skull and twin lightning bolts, the crest of the ancient Terran Pacification War, the Chapter’s first battle honour.

Plus all the talk of exile edicts, exile tattoos, and the like match up with book 3 fluff.

I wonder if the 1d4chan space shark page is still full of loyalist night lord shillers? I avoid the lore section of 1d4 because if theyre ever wrong it becomes an edit war.

Strength modifiers: First multiplicative, then additive boni, right?
E.g. a S4 model has +1 S from some source as well as a powerfist. It'd strike at S9, barring some other boni. Unless I am mistaken, obviously.

Infiltrating or scout means they don't need the Land Raider to get in optimal range, which allows for a apothecary to be attached to the unit, or even a chapain too so they never ever run away. Then you should use them to be in the way to protect your more valuable units, bait out charges, tie down units in close combat, limit the movement options of enemy units ... just be annoying as fuck.

But I always keep them too far back and then get suprised again by how long it takes them to die.

If you read the full book, which has been a fun read thus far at the very least, there are purposefully placed things like Nomad Predation Fleet which is only ever mentioned in Terran XIX and Carcahrodon Fluff, the chief libby is nicknamed The Pale Nomad, Theyve been following the Edicts of Exile and predation for 10k years, lining up with the first predation sent by corax, and many other narrative motifs and parallels only found in only those two fluff sources. Thus linking them.

The NL side of the story is weird and fetishy for some reason, but the shark side is really cool.

I'm a fan of graviton guns in Breacher squads. You probably won't be able to infiltrate, so take 10 in a Land Raider, drive up to an objective and sit on it. Between the graviton guns and the LR you can keep tanks and dreads away, and you should keep a veteran or support squad in a Rhino nearby to come help against infantry. Maybe two squads in Land Raiders moving forward, 24-30" apart, with a support squad with flamers in a Rhino in between them.

Units of 10 aren't common, but it's small squads that got a points drop in the last red book, and big squads are survivable but get so expensive that you have to keep piling points onto them to make them useful (i.e. Spartan) and that changes your list to being designed around that one unit.

Are Knight Titans ever part of Titan Legions?

I ask because it seems like they were in older stuff like Epic, and by the talking about Adeptus Titanicus it sounds like that is the way it is in current fluff too. Also why're Knight Houses part of the Taghmata rather than the Titan Legions?
>>
>>51319491
Knight Titans can serve alongside them, but are not part of the legions themselves, as Knights are part of Martian/Non-Martian noble houses that control them.
>>
>>51319510

They can be oath-bonded to Titan Legions, in which case the Knight becomes a part of the Titan legion for the rest of the Knight's service.

>Occasionally, the Adeptus Mechanicus will decree that a household detachment must remain with the Titan Legion permanently. When this is the case, the Nobles will change their vows of allegiance and heraldry from their house to the Titan Legion they now serve, and will be given an honorific title by the master of the legion to better reflect their new status.
>>
>>51319510

Base Imperial Primer, Warplock Bronze for the arm, Ironbreaker for the blade, Nihilak Oxide on the arm, typhus corrision on the blade, dry brush over the arm with warplock bronze, go over the blade with typhus corrosion, dry brush the arm with Runelord Brass, Dry brush the blade with Ryza dust, edge lighlight the blade by dry brushing runefang steel.

Easy peasy.

>>51319977
Its been raining here, what I've been doing is quickly priming them, letting them sit for a few moments while I inspect them, then I bring them inside to dry on a rack.

There really aren't any health concerns with the paint drying inside due to the aerosol settling rather rapidly. So long as you are drying at around room temperature you should be fine in my opinion.

>>51320067
Probably? Assuming you have positive airflow (IE lots of airflow) from inside through your drying chamber and out you should be fine. The only issue is ensuring that the temperature of your drying apparatus doesn't begin to decline.

If you had something like a doggy door as the exit opening that maintained the insulating factor of say, a sliding door you could probably guarantee positive airflow. The question would be if you could get the temperature inside the drying chamber to stay at a steady 70-80 degrees. THAT might require some insulation on the outside or inside of the box.

Its not immediately obvious to me what deathfire does and deepstriking 1d6 in addition to re-rolling reserves for skimmers/Jetbikes/Jump Infantry is not a Warlord trait, that is a very strong special rule. If this is a Praetor it needs MotL and shouldn't have four wounds or Eternal Warrior.

Not thay anon, but his title is 'Chief Stormseer' meaning he's the head librarian in the same way the Salamanders have a Head Chaplain who has MotL.

How do you kit your Magi, fellow Domini?
I obviously want my Dominus or Reductor Archmagos to have all the durability and support toys, but I'm not sure whether to give him any weapons. He has a power axe with effectively +2A, flamer and inferno pistol anyway.

Maybe a Power/Chainfist just to win duels? I don't know whether he is likely to wind up in a scrap since I have no game experience yet.

Trailer-makers will always make the same trailers. I don't think I've ever seen a trailer that was ever very different from its peers, save perhaps teasers, but they don't really count.

It's hard to tell when a good director fucks up the writing whether it's incompetence, over-ambition, studio meddling (often an excuse by fans), or doesn't-give-a-fuckness like JJ Abrams definitely has.
>>
>>51321117
What is paying the tax for a consul choice that enables you to have MotL. I try to steer clear of designing units or characters that invalidate other options. Its more effective to design within a niche than to design a straight upgrade.

FW's standard creation formula is to roll for a statline increase, add +20pts and a special rule (not necessarily one from the table). That's usually it, barring Sigi-tiers, and even he kind of follows the same formula.
>>
>>51321460

...huh, I only just realised they don't have any ranged upgrades and half of the morale ones only apply in melee.

What are non-melee heroes supposed to take? Just roll for more characteristics constantly?
>>
Are Custodes really that unplayable without a transport? I've literally never seem them in a 30k game or batrep and they've been out for a while now. Literally the only thing I've seen of them is when Ash played the board game for a few videos and that's it.

I kind of want to stick a squad into an army so I can get one of their tanks as well, but without a transport... ehhh. It doesn't help that their 30k rules are honestly pretty terrible compared to their 40k rules.
>>
>>51321527
>non-melee heroes
Like Exodus, ranged Magi and who else?
>>
>>51321535

Solar Auxilla leaders? In a mostly marine setting they really shouldn't be trying for melee if they can avoid it.
>>
>>51321535
Siege consuls, artillery loaders, HM engineers?
>>
>>51321545
>>51321542
They can buy small arms only, but they could boost nearby troops.
I told you: you may use other tables to roll on.

Rask rolled and recieved Stubborn
Abaddon got Teleporter assault & Fearless

Some higher tier characters like Kyr and Sigismund got three extra rules, on top of what a regular character would get.
So that is the upper limit.

Also, what's the deal with Siege Breakers?
They can be somewhat choppy themselves and have close quarters bombs...but they buff heavy weapons and have a vox.
I consider a MoS to be the better option.
>>
>>51321641
Imagine the pain a Siege Breaker in terminator armour with chainfist and powerdagger could lay down on anything with an armour value.

That's at least 4 attacks with armourbane ánd tank-hunter
>>
>>51321677
Too bad the only squad such a SB could boost would be stolen Tyrants.
Because Fulmentarii have Tank Hunters of their own. Or a single Justaerin Multimelta. That's it.
>>
>>51321718
Or flashbang IH, with 10 TH
>>
>>51321755
The Siege Breaker's Art of Destruction rule only boosts the ranged attacks of the attached Infantry squad's Heavy Weapons, anon.

That's right, they don't affect Ordnance weapons or artillery models either, meaning a Siege Breaker in a Rapier team is doing absolutely nothing.
>>
>>51321755
Siege Breaker only buffs other's Heavy shooting weapon attacks.

Personally I wouldn't mind running a siegebreaker just as a melee wrecking ball. Give him some phospex grenades, infiltrate alongside some terminators and send him in to wreck some shit.
>>
So what's the "polite limit" on the use of Cybernetica in 2k/2.5k games?

My Genetor army I've just ordered some kits for essentially buy Castellax in boxes of 3, since they use Stormvermin bodies. (Which will need an ungodly amount of work to remove all the spikes and detail and replace it with Admech and Bullgryn armour, but that's the way the world works)

This means I'm probably going to have 6, two S10 melee/Maulerbolt, 2 Darkfire Cannons and two undecided. Add in a Thanatar and maybe a Vulturax or some Vorax.

Would that be a reasonable list to expect people to fight? Eventually it's going to be fairly combined-arms, with a couple Reductor tanks, some Thallax and Magi of all types, but I'm starting with the Cybernetica.

Also, does anyone have the technique for greenstuffing on rivets? Going to need lots of them.
>>
>>51321874
Using more than 2k/2.5k points is a dick move.

When did the Emperor's ban of religion go from "it's so that Chaos can't use it as a disguise to trick people" into m'lady territory?

I don't know, like many BL books, it's good writing ruined by the authors opinions about canon, or in this case, politics.
When YOU set up the world's religions yourself then YOU can determine whether they should be a part of your galaxy spanning Empire

>Modern GW is too chickenshit and Trump's presidency too "controversial" for them to dare doing anything like this because the media says he's an evil hate-mongering racist.
GW couldn't care less about that.
Trump won't get one because unlike Reagan he is not a believer in free trade and the classical liberal school of economics, and thus won't lower prices by reducing tariffs and making free trade easier.

I like Trump, but his economic policy is quite bad. he certainly doesn't deserve a congratulations for it like Regan got.
