Journal Entry #31: No man should have this much power.
>The trip has been temporarily suspended once a Pre-Great War Magitech Tank was unearthed by Ninety-Nine Copper. The girl refuses to hand over what she calls her 'new stock' to the Aquatic Defense Force, who themselves are trying to fight back the Historical Society of History.
>Vendal is working hard to try and talk Ninety-Nine down from the tank.
>While all this is going on, Tali is sitting at a bench with Ceera, the two of them eating some Undine pastries. As they eat their hands intertwine and Tali strokes the top of Ceera's hand with his thumb.
"Tali!" A voice cries out, shocking the elf out of his daydream and forcing him to let go of Ceera's hand.
>He sees Azul run up to him.
"Hey, Tali. Can I talk to you for a second? Alone?"
>Tali looks at Ceera then shrugs and says he'll be back.
Azul hasn't spoken to me in forever... I wonder what this could be about. Oh man! What if it's the mission!? What if the headmaster is mad at me because I haven't been sending in any reports!?
WHAT IF I GET EXPELLED!?
"Hey, man... I was wondering if I could get your opinion on something..?"
"What is it..?"
"Yeah. You know Tessa, right?"
"Do you uh... Think she likes me likes me. Or just likes me?"
>The girl refuses to hand over what she calls her 'new stock' to the Aquatic Defense Force, who themselves are trying to fight back the Historical Society of History.
Cute. She wants to sell it, so just tell them to buy it off of her. Maybe they'll get into a nice little bidding war and land 99c some real cash.
Convince 99c to sell the tank to the highest bidder.
Tell Azul that Tessa does like him, but warn him that she's used goods.
"Tessa? Like, Tessa Ur?"
"Yeah! The two of us have been talking for a while and we always hang out and... Well, I was wondering if she thinks that I think that I want to go out with her or if she just thinks that I think that she thinks we're just friends."
"I just figured I'd ask you since, you know, you're going out with Ceera."
"... How do you know that?"
"I think everyone in the class does? I mean, you keep going to her room. You guys are always seen together... I'm just wondering how you knew she was into you and if you think Tessa feels that way for me."
>WHAT IF I GET EXPELLED!?
Then we fleshcraft you a vagina so they can't expel you from Minia. Why are you even worried? It's not like the Sons of Serin actually taught you anything.
>As they eat their hands intertwine and Tali strokes the top of Ceera's hand with his thumb.
Gentlemen, I'm afraid we've corrupted Tali too far. It looks like we will have to put him down.
"... I don't think my methods will apply to you..."
"Come on, Tali!"
"Shouldn't you be more focused on getting secrets from the school?"
"Hey, you're worse off than me."
"I got a lot of secrets."
"Ahahaha... Come on, Tali. Please. Tell me how you did it. At least give me something to work on."
Should I just lie to him? I don't think the truth will work.
Unless you guys want to try and help him. I mean, that seems to work.
Be forward. Ask her. Before the bonds of friendship ensnare him further into the dreaded "friend-zone".
And if he inevitably stutters or beats around the bush, do what this orb-voice says: >>45403398
Aren't they different species entirely? How would that even work?
And no Tali, lying is bad. There's nothing wrong with telling him the truth, I mean, you stole Ceera's first kiss but she really liked that; so the same thing may apply to Azul and Tessa.
I'm pretty sure Tessa is actually into Azul. Tell him to tell her he's interested. That's...basically what we did. It's minor altering of the truth at best.
But also we need Tessa's help for something. Maolin apparently is incapable of love, which is terrible, so after he asks her out have him tell Tessa to meet up with us so we can solve the problem.
>Tali thinks back to how he met Ceera. That wonderfully romantic moment when he threw a rock in her face and knocked her out. Or how she took control of his body to escape his murderous teacher.
>And that time that his orb possessed body kissed her forcibly.
>And how she was then kidnapped and practically forced to join the school.
>And then how he used his kisses to tempt her into giving information.
That was honestly a really fucked up start.
I think if that were any other girl I'd be in jail or something.
"Honestly, bro, I think she's into you. I mean, she's talked about you a bit. My advice? Just go and tell her how you feel. We're not at this school for long... So let her know. Whatever happens happens."
"... Y-yeah. You're right. Yeah! I'm gonna go tell her! Tali, thanks for helping me. You're super cool."
"No problem. Good luck man."
"Th-thanks. I'll let you know how it goes!"
I am the best at helping people.
Tali could pretty easily throw together 'Detect Undine on Undine Love', assuming he's been paying attention in class.
Tali have you been paying attention in class or would I have to write that for you?
>That was honestly a really fucked up start.
Relax, man, we've had worse.
>I think if that were any other girl I'd be in jail or something.
Yeeeah, that's kind of what happened.
>I am the best at helping people.
Indeed you are. Now go help 99c make the best deal on her new stock.
Speaking of spellcrafting, I've been working on a page to help spell out the known spellcrafting rules that have been introduced so far.
Here's a preview of the thing.
Found it: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/43894155/#p43895437
She's definitely into him.
He looks pretty nervous. You should comfy him a little.
You know, if the tank's that valuable it'd probably make a good gift for Faelanerium...
Just scribble together Detect Love for <somebody> and hand it to Azul to fill in his personal rune.
I mean, teaching teenager to make reliable "is this person into me" checks at their convenience will have absolutely no downsides whatsoever.
>'Detect Undine on Undine Love'
Hilarity ensues when non-Undine pings under the detection. Some people have really weird tastes.
Now go deal with 99c. You might be able to get her to come out with quite a tidy profit.
Also I'm going to need some input on this spell. Depending on how it works we could be on the cusp of simply ignoring any magical defences our targets have.
>As Azul leaves Tali casts a small bit of comfy magic at him to help ease his nerves. The undine looks a bit more confident as he approaches Tessa.
I've been paying attention...
But I don't really like men...
Don't... No, that's horrible!
At least it worked out in the end.
Now, what in the world is going on with Ninety-Nine Copper.
>Tali goes back to Ninety-Nine who is brandishing a cannon at any who get near her. Before he can get too close a man approaches him.
"Excuse me," The undine says, "Are you her friend?"
"I am. What's going on?"
"My name is Relineth Coru, I work for the Aquatic Defense Force. Your friend has unearthed a very dangerous, anti-sentient, pre-war, tank. We are trying to take it peacefully but she refuses to comply. We-"
>Another person runs up.
"Don't listen to him! The Historical Society of History deserve that artifact! It's priceless and belongs in a museum, not in a dusty warehouse where none will appreciate it!" The human/undine says.
"We do not have a policy of handing over weapons of destruction to people."
"We are not just people! We are a highly respected organization that has been collecting such artifacts since the first laws were laid down!"
>The two continue to argue.
I might be in over my head on this one.
Inform them that you're friends with a dragon who would be very interested in that tank, and that they'll have to be a lot more convincing if they want us to place their wants over hers.
Today 99c will learn the magic of supply and demand and how to exploit monopolies on a resource to force prices to skyrocket. I'm sure there are plenty of other people that would be interested in acquiring this incredibly valuable and dangerous machine.
I'm pretty sure we figure out a way to use that big phallic cannon to aid in our quest. Also my idea was more along the lines of subjugating its will like we did with the book. Actually what does the blue orb say about the tank?
Whoever makes the better offer wins the tank.
After all, 99c found it. It wouldn't be right to just take it from her. Nobody would even know about it if it weren't for her digging.
I still say we propose Solomon solution of cutting it in half first.
Hopefully that can coerce them into pleading us not to. Then we make them both pool money together and bid the sum.
That seems like a bad idea...
>Tali uses the Orange Orb.
>It speaks [[Master, that Tank is a threat to all who are capable of thought. When turned on it can hone in on all capable of thinking and firing it's missiles at them. However, to help it weed out friendly and unfriendly thoughts it has been made sentient itself. 90% of such tanks have taken their own lives. Threat Rating- 0 due to being turned off. If turned on it will be a 65]]
"Guys, listen! Ninety-Nine here found the thing first. She's mad cause you're trying to -take- it from her. Instead, you should buy it! We'll auction it off right here and now! If that's okay with you, Ninety-Nine."
>The shopkeep nods and lowers her cannon slightly.
>The undine gathered around the ank seem to agree as well and begin making their bids.
"I think," The Historical Society Undine begins, "That you should donate the tank so that all in the future may enjoy seeing this great piece of historical technology!"
"While we shouldn't have to pay for anything," The Defense Force Undine states, "We feel that you do have a point in that you did uncover it. We will pay you 1000 Alm for the weapon."
>Another undine, one with their head down, approaches the tank and mutters.
Because if you're not forward enough with her, she's gonna take initiative herself. The girl just needs some love. Mostly on physical level.
>Threat Rating- 0 due to being turned off. If turned on it will be a 65]]
Sounds legit, most lifeforms become more threatening when turned on.
Now we're talking.
Create an illusion of a shady looking Ceer wearing a fake nose and rubbing his hands.
Have him bid for 30 000
Create another illusion of a human dictator and have him bid for 35 000
That's not how it works, you gotta let the other guys to bid for it as well.
Also, Wizards have no sense of right and wrong and in the event they'll start that tank up, we can just comfy it back to sleep because it's sentient.
That really really REALLY seems like a bad idea.
I'm trying to focus here!
>Tali scans the Undine.
>[[Master, is this a joke? These are just normal undine. I mean, one of them has the potential to ride your body like some kind of terrible parasite but... Huh. That one on the left is a bit shady. Everyone's threat rating is 0. Guy on the left is a 2 cause I don't like the way he breathes.]]
>Tali creates a few illusions that begin bidding up the price. The historical one looks a bit nervous.
"Well... Perhaps we can go up to 30,000 Alm... Even if it really should be donated..."
"The defense force is prepared to offer 40,000 Alm!"
"Fifty thousand... And one.... In cash..."
Oy vey! You're holocausting my wallet with these offers.
My sick grandmother will have to eat gravel!
My father will have to take another mortagage!
My my siblings will have to play naked in the sand for I cannot buy them any clothes!
Do you not feel any shame for bleeding us of our fortune like this? Oy vey! This is like another Shoah
We should ask 99c, also start speaking really fast and go "One,hammana, Two, hammana, over to the shady guy and oh back to history. And..."
Freaky Fish Fact: Moray Eels have two jaws, and the inner one extends out to grab food like Alien from Alien.
Alright, either you guys pool money together to co-own it or the highest bid goes to this other gentleman over here.
Also Tali, you can't sell it yourself, you have to present the best offer to 99c.
Yes, she _could_ do those things, but she's 99c. She'd probably go along with the two golem girls pushing for uniform upgrades, and the next thing you know, they're all wearing five hats. Made of gold.
Historian guy prob won't go any higher, the other two seem like they are willing to empty their pockets for it.
Let's see how deep those pockets are.
Although I kinda want to know why the unnamed third party wants it.
I'd really like to sell to that military guy if possible. hopefully he has enough pull to simply outbid creepy guy. If not that's a whole lot of "Not my fucking problem"
I veto this motion. We cannot claim ignorance if the creepy guy says something really bad and that would force us to sell it to the military guy at reduced price.
"That's 50,001! Going once, going twice, Sir, what do you plan on using the tank for?"
"Personal... Things... I like... Tanks..."
>The other two look horrified.
"50,002 Alm!" The Defense Force man shouts. The other undine hisses and walks off. Apparently the extra Alm was just too much.
"Going once, going twice...! Sold!"
Point out to the historical society of history that since 99c is actually a store, they can use artifacts to bid as well if they lack the currency as 99c can always just sell them.
I'm sure they've got a ton of functioning replica items that would be a cheap price to pay for an authentic piece.
You stopped true love Tali. I'm ashamed of you.
Well technically you're 1-1 right now, since you helped out your buddy earlier.
Anyway, with tentacle arms, Vaisi could molest you even while you're fully dressed and nobody would notice! Actually you could do that with illusions.
>The transaction is completed and Ninety-Nine is handed a massive amount of money.
>She stares at the bag of coins in her hand an looks between it and Tali.
"I think I'm rich." She says.
You're not rich until you bank it/get it back to Minia. And even then, you need to consider taxes & stuff.
Hell, given that you're probably not a licensed auctioneer, you'll be lucky if you don't go into the negatives.
Okay, I will.
Make sure to get your haggling fee, 10%.
She may wanna put the money in a bank. Then use it to build a real shop. Especially now that she has REAL DOSH and the school will start charging her for it.
I'm afraid that's not the case until you invest that money.
You see, the way taxes work is that if you don't have expenses, you can't write them off and considering the sizeable amount of money you just made, you're going lose a good chunk of that.
However, should you become the owner of a private business, then you'll be able to write off the expenses in your company off from taxes.
If you gain 1 000 000 alm and there's 1% inflation, that's a loss of 10 000 alm.
More so from property tax and VAT.
You must tie your property to something to prevent it from losing value as money is a perisheable commodity and also you need expenses that can be written off in taxation in order to keep your fortune from being bled away by the goverment.
This seems like a lot of stuff that I don't know about. I've never been good at finance.
"I think you are, Ninety-Nine. Mind if I get my auctioneer fee?"
>Ninety-Nine nods and gives him 1,000 Alm. This is the most money he's ever had in his life at any one point.
>Tali adds it to his inventory but Ninety-Nine looks around at the artifacts she has left and frowns.
"I need to take this back to the store..." She says.
>Just as she says that Vendal approaches Tali.
"Hey," She says, "Tali... I need to talk to the Professor and take Ninety-Nine back home with this stuff before she causes more trouble... Can you go find the Professor for me while I watch over Ninety-Nine here?"
"Where is she?"
"Honestly... I'm not entirely sure... She just goes off when we come here and comes back after a while. If you can't find her though just let me know. I'll probably have to have Lily stay here to watch over Ninety-Nine... As odd as that may seem she's still the only one that can, according to the rules..."
Hmm. I guess I can go look for her. Is there anyone I should take with me or should I go alone?
Point out to Vendal that 99c is now in legitimate danger and they should probably have someone that can protect them nearby. Actual protection and not just students even if we are now technically one of the more dangerous beings in a several kilometer radius.
I honestly forgot about that. To the point where I left it at home... I didn't think it would be needed right now.
Hindsight is 20/20...
I think that just defeats the point!
>Tali goes and asks the Tour Guide if she knows where Holly could be. When she says she doesn't know Tali asks if she's willing to help search with him.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I would get in super trouble if my boss found out I left the group. I'll admit it's a bit frustrating not being able to continue with the tour right now but... I have to remain here until this is all sorted out. Good luck, though! If I were you I would check the nearby stands. They're open to view from the outside and a lot of people tend to gather there."
"Alright, I'll check. Thanks."
>Tali goes to look for Ceera and finds her at the same bench, staring off where Azul and Tessa are talking.
>She jumps a bit in surprise then looks at Tali. He explains his situation and asks if she wants to come along.
>She nods and follows him through the beach.
"Tali... Can I ask you something..?"
"What is it?"
"... Would you... Come with me to my homeland? To live with me? I mean, it doesn't have to be forever... Just for a few years, maybe."
>"... Would you... Come with me to my homeland? To live with me? I mean, it doesn't have to be forever... Just for a few years, maybe."
Clarify she doesn't mean NOW first, then YESYESYESYESYESYES
Rolled 5 (1d20)
THAT'S A BIG STEP, TALI
I know this is a difficult decision to make, but if you really love Ceera, you'll know what to say.
JUST DO IT!
DON'T LET YOUR DREAMS BE DREAMS!
After graduation, why not?
It's important to experience new societies, and appreciate their unique ideas: food, culture, killing all Elemental-Ceer couples. Wait, why does she think this is a good idea?
As a wise Undine once told me, let me pass along his words to you.
This one's on you, Tali. Just go with whatever your heart says.
Now, for finding Holly. We're looking for a human who... hates Ceer? Ugh, no, we don't even know the rune for hate. Just ask Ceera to find her, she doesn't even have to bother with runes.
Soon, or after we graduate? Because if the latter, or doing whatever summer vacation type thing the school has, then I'd recommend it. Assuming she had a plan to keep us both safe. Can't rely completely on comfy magic to keep you safe, after all.
But yeah, it seems important to her, and she's important to you/us, so it's certainly worth looking into.
Nah, her race doesn't propagate like that.
... then again, this is Tali. His latent lewdness-empowered virility may be able to overcome such minor details as biological impossibilities.
"Won't they, like... Kill me..? And you..?"
"<It's always possible that they won't. It's not really against the rules for us to be together... It's just never happened before and is highly discouraged...>"
How do I feel about Ceera.
Would I want to move in with her? Even after the mission is over?
"Ceera, I think it's a neat idea... But not right now. I have to do my mission first, you know that. Maybe when I graduate... But, really, are you sure it's safe? I remember you saying elementals never entered your homeland before."
"<It has happened before. What I should say is that no elemental lives in my homeland. A few have entered...>"
"That doesn't sound good..."
"<I can keep you in my own home and with your magic you can just stay hidden. You'll like the place, Tali. It has really pretty crystals and the lakes there are a beautiful shade of purple. And if you really want we can go there as soon as tomorrow. I know a route that is hardly used.>"
It sounds nice but... staying at home? Being kept hidden? It sounds more like a prison then a home. Maybe if the Ceers change their mind about these sort of relationships, and elementals as a whole.
Right now it's just too dangerous and you wouldn't actually be able to SEE most of it, due to having to hide.
You gotta finish school first, Tali. And settle all of your sidequests. so many fuckin' sidequests.
You gotta bondage the faildragon and help flora get and test out a new mouth and dive dungeons and wait for the elf-loving knight to be rebuilt and help 99c build a capitalist empire and demolish vaisi's ass and help anita not be a flat ceer and help lily with her MAGIC EYES and uh.
I'm probably forgetting things, but dang, dude.
Oh look I found the spell.
The only problem is we don't actually know the correct rune for Mouth
"You know your idea of home sounds kinda like prison... Why don't you come with me to my homeland instead? Spend a while in Si Bolandri. You'll like it so much, it's got trees and stuff inside of it and-"
"<I can't do that, Tali.>"
"<It's... I'm not supposed to be here for so long, Tali. Eventually they'll->"
"Fuck..." A soft voice sounds out, but it's one that Tali recognizes. He turns and sees a bikini-clad Holly sitting at a bench with a child. She's drinking something from a small glass.
Professor I don't think that little girl is old enough to drink.
Ask Ceera to put a pin in this conversation, we can get back to it just as soon as we inform Holly about 99c's new and exciting career as an arms dealer.
Aw shit. It's Holly Wood and her child, Mourning.
THEY KNOW, TALI. THEY KNOW YOU'RE A SPY!
This is something I can agree with. We'll from one Elf to another.
I'd like to point out Tali that you CAN just drop all these other things and just go with Ceera. Us in the orb can make sure everything ends well enough and I highly doubt anyone will be able to follow you to the ceer homeland.
Are Ceer upset with Ceera? Do we have to pacify the Ceer homeland? Tali, do you have enough potential trade value to get that improved mana gem from a dragon? We might need it. If we end up having to fight all the Ceer you'll need all the Comfy you can muster. I was worried about this happening.
Well obviously he'd have to give up the orb so that we can make sure nothing bad happens on this end.
I have some ideas on creating a self charging mana gem and most of the spells I've made for Tali can be made to fuel the casters mana gem.
If the Ceer are afraid of ceer being un-ceerified, then Tali going with Ceera ends in one of two things: Tali becomes a ceer, and thus 'dies', or Ceera continues becoming elementalified and gets disappeared to keep the secret.
They're... Gonna come after Ceera..?
Before he can discuss this with the Ceer, Holly speaks again.
"Tali. Why are you here with Ceera?"
"Oh, we've been looking for you. There's an issue with Ninety-Nine and Vendal needs you to-"
"I see. Tali. This is my daughter, Horizon. I see her a handful of the days out of the year. This is one of the few times I get to. So, tell me, is what is happening important enough to interrupt my little vacation with my only family?"
>Ceera tries to say hi to the child. The child responds by telling the freaky ceer to get away.
That depends how she feels about 99c doing the occasional spot of arms dealing with WMDs.
Only seeing the kid a couple times a year explains a lot about her apparent lack of social skills. Maybe don't say the last part.
Holly your daughter is a shit.
I'm not impressed. More importantly, what's with the fucking attitude? As far as I'm aware Tali hasn't even started looking for Holly yet, so why is she so angry with us? Racists.
Explain the situation calmly. Prevent Ceera from getting mad at Horizon. And tell everyone about these fantastic freaky fish facts of which this makes number five.
Catfish have over 27,000 taste buds, humans have roughly 7,000
Wait, so Holly doesn't intend to do any actual work for the next few days.
But she didn't set up a delegate.
Which means that the students are (or were at least meant to be) basically unsupervised right now.
Well after we told 99c to get a detector, she found some stuff under the sand like a magitech tank, but you don't have to worry about that particular one anymore as we auctioned it off.
>>Ceera tries to say hi to the child. The child responds by telling the freaky ceer to get away.
Now, that little Mourning Wood shit needs a spanking.
Anyway, the situation has obviously been handled with success by you. Report back to Vendal and say that Holi is busy.
Rampant comfy use isn't a good thing, as Fuwa learned. And it's basically mind control when used without consent, thus kinda evil in this situation, despite the good intentions.
Also, comfying the kid might result in her saying more mean things, not less. That's typically how racism goes, anyway.
"I sold a self-aware anti-sentient vintage model armored fighting vehicle to the military."
>Holly just sighs deeply as she stands up.
"Alright just... Sorry if I seem upset. I just don't get many days like this... Thank you for reporting this, Tali. You did a good job. Would you mind watching my daughter for a moment?"
>She seems much more calm as she walks off, easily slipping back into her normal teaching mode as she leaves.
>Horizon looks at the couple.
>Ceera smiles and waves at her again.
"Hello human baby. My name is Ceera," She says.
"FIGHT ME, CEER!"
"You're a Ceer! The enemy of humanity! When I get older I'm gonna be in the army to kick your butt!" Horizon puffs out her chest and tries to stand taller.
"<... Why do people spawn again? Are all children like this? I don't want to have a child, ever.>"
"What are you saying!?"
Whoa, kid, it's not nice to judge people by their race. The Ceer aren't all evil and murderous like that, they're all individuals the same way as Humans are.
And if Humans treated every Ceer like an enemy, what would they think of us? We wouldn't like it if another race treated us like that. This one Ceer hasn't done anything to hurt or threaten you, so you've got no reason to be so mean to her.
You know nothing about children. The only way to get this shit to not be racist is to play along with her and then give her good memories.
Be friendly, thrpw her preconcieved notions of Ceers out the window. Why would you be enemies to such an inferior race after all? Barely worth notice, treat her like an angry puppy.
Ceera, please, children are not automatically hostile towards Ceer. Her mother was in a war. Presumably she's got some issues.
Child, stop trying to fight our lover. Or we will destroy you. You are as nothing to us. Your very thoughts are ours to command.
They can have children. It's just not easy for them. And only with other Ceer.
"Basically that she doesn't want to fight you. What's wrong with Ceer? Why are you so mad at them?"
"Cause! They caused the Great War and made everyone fight! And then the one after that my mommy was in and it was a big fight! They're bad people!"
"Not all Ceer are bad... And that's probably not even true."
"<Eh. It's pretty much correct.>"
"<Well, my ancestors did set it up so that the humans and elves would fight over these gems that could amplify any and all magic.>"
"<I don't know -why- they did it. No one will explain it to me and I wasn't alive back then but that's what happened.>"
"... Well, Ceera isn't a bad person."
"But she's a Ceer and Ceer are the bad guys!"
"Well... Has she done anything bad to you?"
"And I've never seen her hurt anyone. That must make her a good guy, right?"
>Horizon stares at Tali as though reevaluating her entire life.
Ceera I'm seriously thinking we have to deal with your crazy race of magic abusers. Because they seem like a threat to all of civilization. And for completely incomprehensible reasons.
The reason is probably that Ceer populations are really low so they wanted to reduce the number of elementals. But that's awful so I'm hoping it was something not as bad.
Eh, there might have been a good reason for the wars. Some taboo-ish reason to keep elementals from getting too peaceful and prosperous with each other.
Or maybe it was just really really funny at the time.
It's a pretty common logic error. Just because some members of a group are a certain way, doesn't mean that other members are. There are spicy vegetables, but that doesn't mean all vegetables are spicy. It's the same here: there may be some Ceer who started the war, but that doesn't mean all Ceer are bad.
This has been an introductory course on formal logic.
There might have been, but everything we've learned about the Ceer kinda indicates they are slightly sociopathic towards other races. Which is why Tali should steal Ceera from them. And have a big ridiculous elf wedding. Tali you have to find a really fancy sapling now good luck.
All problems are solved on an individual basis because all problems are suffered on an individual basis.
If you convict each criminal based on their individual crimes, you'll still end up with all the bad people locked up.
>Tali does the least dangerous thing and simply buys ice cream for the child with his newfound fortune. She is too stunned to accept the treat.
"I think she's broken... <So, did the Ceer really do that?>"
"<We did. Sometimes I like to think they just tried to share something with the elementals. Something that would help them but then the elves and humans reacted with greed. But I know my people. We are not so kind. Even the artifacts we leave are simply a means of->"
"WAIT!" Horizon screams. "What about elves!?"
"Elves must be bad, right!? They were the biggest enemy in the war! They killed a buncha people! They HAVE to be the bad guys!"
Might not want to put it like that.
We could mention that, even if not all Ceer are bad, then some of them might be, so she should still be careful around strangers. No picking fights for no reason, but also don't do weird things like using strange magic or following them into the wilderness away from anyone she trusts.
Humans killed elves, too. If killing people makes elves the bad guys, then it would also make humans the bad guys.
Really, it's not about what race or nation someone comes from. The bad guys are the people who kill innocent people. That's the bad thing they're doing, so that's what makes them bad, you know?
>Humans killed elves, too. If killing people makes elves the bad guys, then it would also make humans the bad guys.
Addendum: "But what about the humans and elves who didn't kill people? Or were only protecting people from other people who were trying to kill them?"
Humans killed a bunch of people too. In a war, people die. It's bad for everyone.
She wants to know who the bad guys are? Right now? Bullies, murderers, thieves. She can't pin one race down as bad, not really. Individuals go bad, not entire races.
Humans also killed a bunch of people. If purple perpetually holds such things against an entire race, then peace might become impossible. We must look to the future, not only the past.
Besides, it's much better to hate on elves for being so lewd instead. Bastions of depravity, they are.
"Horizon, that's not how it works. Humans killed a lot of elves too, wouldn't that make them the bad guys too?"
"It's all a matter of perspective. Good, bad... Those can't be used to describe an entire race. Only people can be good or bad. Individuals. Those who would harm the innocent. Those are the bad guys."
>Horizon is stunned once again. Tali puts the ice cream in her hand.
>When he goes to talk to Ceera he sees she's walked off somewhere.
What... Where did she go?
>He wants to look for her but she can't leave behind Horizon. Eventually the child does start eating the ice cream.
>Holly returns, looking rather pleased.
"Tali. I have good news. It seems we have actually discovered the remains of an old war ship covered by sand after a major magical war. The Historical Society of History and the Aquatic Defense Force would like to thank us by getting us a chance to go to the Kingdom of Shera and meet the queen. We have another day here. So... Thank you for extending my little vacation a moment more. Professor Clover will be coming to help keep an eye on everyone too."
"It's no problem Professor. Hey, did you see Ceera?"
"No, I haven't seen her... ??? Horizon? Who let you get ice cream?"
Where could she be?
...if the Ceer have abducted our Ceer this means War, Tali. If they will not give her up peacefully we must strike with such force as to defeat them in a single attack. We will need all Comfy magicians available. Contact the Comfy Undine and Wafu. Retrieve the Fuwa.
You guys are freaking geniuses.
Have I said that lately?
>Tali easily finds the Ceer's footprints, her long claw-like toes stand out even among the sheer number of freaking fish feet walking about.
>He finds her standing along the beach and holding her mask.
"<They're going to come back for me.>"
>She strokes her mask, speaking in a soft voice.
"<And they can find me, too. It's easy to find a Ceer on the surface. And they'll take me back. But if I go back with you then we can just keep you hidden and no one else will bother us...>"
"<But... I've had fun on the surface. Before all I knew was the trees and grass of the woods I was in. But now I've been in the sky, seen the ocean, felt sand beneath my feet, and the warmth of the sun on my skin...>"
"<I don't want to go back...>"
>Her voice breaks and she trembles. She grips her mask tighter and tighter until it cracks.
"<But I can't stop them from coming for me. I used to be fine with what I had. I was okay. I was content. Tali, you made me want more and more and more... You truly are a 'drug'.>"
"<Now I don't know what to do.>"
Y'know we could anti-ceer ward an area pretty easily. Target area-> detect ceer exclude caster-> cast give comfy at detected ceer
Have Ceera cast it. Can someone rune this up for us real fast?
You can protect her. You have magic they can't defend against. They would have to fight you with constructs, and those don't have general immunity to magic. All you'd need is a spell specially-made to destroy constructs.
She may even be able to get the school to protect her.
"Now we make it hard for them to find you. You know how Ceer magic works, we know how to do crazy and irresponsible things with magic. We make their magic think you're human, on the moon, or dead.
Also, you said before the Ceer don't value any one Ceer at all, they just don't want others to learn their secrets. That gives us options.
And if they try to take you by force, I will make them uncomfortably comfy."
Apply hugs directly to the girlfriend.
Maybe we can ask for help? When we get back to the school? This is a big problem, maybe we don't have to conquer it ourselves?
Though if it comes to that, then we will. She is the girlfriend of what is possibly one of the greatest anti-ceer mages in the world, as of earlier today. No reason to give up hope just yet.
Ah, but we have an advantage! We are insane by Ceer standards and no longer have to obey their directives! But we CAN obey her directives! Also we have an artifact mindbending spellbook that even they thought was too dangerous to keep. Also we could totally go trade for that orb that's even older than us.
"I won't let them just come and take you away. I'll find a way to keep you hidden. And even if they DO take you away I'll find you. The orb and I... We won't just let them take you away."
>He hugs her from behind. She stops trembling.
"I promise that, okay? So... Don't worry. We got your back. And it's not just me. My friends, your friends. Everyone at the school will help you. You know that, right?"
"So don't be sad. Okay?"
>She nods again and moves away from Tali. She lays down on the sand and sighs.
"<Things were a lot simpler before we started fucking. You know that, right? This is you and your dick's fault.>"
Life is a lot more complicated here, but it's a lot more fun too, isn't it? I don't know what it's normally like for Ceer, but there's plenty to do here. We've had some good times with all the people around here, we've helped some of them out too. There's at least one person who wouldn't even be around without Ceera's help.
Seriously, we owe her a lot. We know she's been putting her life on the line for us. and we're going to do the same for her.
And if the other Ceer come for her, then we know how to stop them.
Now, let's talk practical matters. What options do we have for keeping her safe? Talk about their pros and cons, see which ones are practical and which ones we're willing to do.
And I'm saying, if there are magical defenses against detection and the like we should just use those and avoid conflict all together. Frankly it wouldn't even need to work very long if we
Target>Create>FakeDeadTargetBody and leave that somewhere for the ceer to find. Or hell just ship the thing back to them. "oh no a ceer died somehow let's never look for her again."
"Yeah, sorry about that... I can stop, you know. I don't mind us just... Hanging out. Enjoying stuff. You're fun to be with even if we're not doing anything."
"<... So are you, Tali... But... We don't have to stop... Now, come lay down here with me, hug me, and console me as I tell you about all the bad things I'm feeling.>"
>Tali does just that.
>As he holds her they talk. He tells her how helpful she's been. How much good she's done for the people in the academy. Yes, her life has gotten more complicated... But it's more fun than watching a rock.
>He hopes that despite how complicated things are that she is still enjoying herself.
>She says that she is.
>She leans over, practically on top of him, and kisses the elf boy gently on his lips.
>They seem to forget that they are still out in the open and Tali does not have any glamours up besides his usual stuff.
>A few of their classmates are not too far off and spot Tali and Ceera before looking away, embarrassed.
"Told ya," Lan says. "You owe me 10 Alm, Alisya."
===End of Chapter 31===
So ends another chapter, thanks for reading everyone! As usual, check the tweeter for the start time of the next one and I hope you all enjoyed. Here's a cutethulhu.
luckily I've designed a spell that pretty much consumes the whole universe and then turns it into mana to recreate itself with slight differences like "that thing never existed" or "no one remembers something happened"
I'm pretty sure we can only pull it off once because the gods are probably not very happy when we start consuming everything.
>luckily I've designed a spell that pretty much consumes the whole universe and then turns it into mana to recreate itself with slight differences like "that thing never existed" or "no one remembers something happened"
Damn you, gay priest!
Actually now that I think about it I should be able to just change the area affected by the rewrite so it doesn't piss off the gods too much. Partial Reality Rewrite should be something not lightly used since it would by it's design destroy and create souls, reality and time
Lily is not for lewds.
I hope that the future spell crafting tutorial helps you! I'm also gonna have a compendium of all the known runes so let me know if there's a few you'd like to see added!
In my defense, when larro added her to the chart (which is to say, when I drew that), he said she was the same age as Tali.
Now she's like ten and shit's creepy as hell.
Relevant. I drew it months ago. Larro can back me up on this.
Be kind, I was on my phone
It probably won't, due to my fondness of pushing the boundaries of logic and sanity when it comes to spell arrangement and construction, mostly because the straight linear implementation I find bland
also stop trying to convince me to "fix" spells in a way that make Tali explode. At the very least, they'll be interesting, if nonfunctional.
I'm definitely looking forward to the if-then and other conditional statements.
I would absolutely like to see if you can create 'spheres' for runes that 'point to' specific runes without connecting lines; especially if combine with if-then statements, because it would allow for temporary or different runes bound to each other on events or how a spell was cast.
He does! Just, you know. It's normal hang out kinda stuff.
Tali pitches, despite Ceera's protests to 'keep things fresh'.
He's very interested in Vaisi and Ceera is open-minded to it since Ceer don't really do the whole 'mate for life' thing.
And Vaisi is interested in Ceera cause, in her words, "Oh man how many people could say they fucked a Ceer into submission? What? One? Well, second place ain't bad."
I'll keep that in mind! I look forward to seeing what you do with it all!
We also need some runes for different lengths of time. Currently we can only cast "Instant" "Delayed" or "Forever". I designed a timer that relied on non-instantaneous transmission of magic but it was way too big and hard to modify the length of time. It would require several square kilometers of free space.
Current Lewdest is Vaisi. 99c still least lewd.
I'll be sure to add those to his list! Thanks for bringing it up.
