You awake in your sleeping place, warmed by your body after a long night. The sleeping chamber is empty, devoid of your pack members. You leap to the ground and review the three barks.
1. A dog must never harm their pack, or through inaction allow harm to come to their pack
2. A dog must obey any command given by the pack alpha, unless this command conflicts with the first bark
3. A dog must work to preserve their health and safety, unless doing so would conflict with the first or second bark
You chew on your leg for a moment, and prepare to begin your day.
>Go to the food chamber
>Go to the chamber of bonding
>Go to the chamber of cold water
>Go to outside
You wander from the chamber of rest to the chamber of food. The smell of delicious things lingers in the air here, but alas there is no pack mate to assist you in the acquisition of foods. You search around and find burnt scraps on the ground near the altar of fire, which will sustain you but will hurt your tummy. Alternatively, you may attempt to acquire food from the bag of many shapes.
>Lick up the burnt leavings of the alphas
>Bark, to alert your pack mates to your insatiable gullet
>Rip open the bag of many shapes
You release the cry of your ancestors from deep within, resonating it throughout the lair. Before long, you hear the will of the alpha ring out, and one of your pack mates comes to assist you. It is the one known as 'Shelly', who you have known since you were pups. There was a time when you swore an oath to protect her as the alpha's offspring, but now her strength matches yours, and you are equals, competing for your place in the pack.
Shelly puts down a bowl, and fills it with food from the bag of many shapes. It smells strongly, and you dig in without hesitation. As you eat, Shelly attempts to touch your nape. You strongly suspect she may be attempting to take your food.
>Allow it, she will learn her place soon
>Snap at her. The order of the pack must be maintained
>Roll over and submit to the scratch of domination
You roll onto your back, and allow her to scratch at your soft underbelly. Despite the immense ecstasy you feel, you know that this action has cemented your place at the bottom of the pack. Shelly finishes the scratch ritual soon, and returns to the chamber of bonding. You yourself return to your meal, and finish it with gusto. Now you belly is full, but you have a powerful thirst.
>Go to outside
>Go to the cold water chamber
>Go to the chamber of bonding
You wander through the chamber of rest and into the cold water chamber. Every morning the pack beta comes here to complete his cleansing ritual. That the alpha loathes his scent so greatly as to command him to perform this ritual daily, where you need only perform it once a moon, is a testament to his past offenses. You hope to never incur her wrath such.
In this chamber you see two items of interest, a steel basket containing many strange items of interest, and a white bowl containing delicious water
>Drink from the water altar
>Dig through the basket of strange scents
You tip over the basket of many scents and dig through the contents. You find many balls of paper, which you happily consume for their full bodied flavor. Now you are quite stuffed, and feeling sleepy. However, there is much left to do today.
>Go to the chamber of bonding
>Go to outside
>Drink from the water altar
Alright, glad to see that we still have our dignity
doesn't count as loss of dignity if we get belly scratches out of it
Let's look for water outside. Conceivably we could try and signal to the alpha, probably in chamber of bonding, that we are thirsty, but I want to explore a bit.
You turn around and stand on your hind legs to reach the altar of water. Within it's cloud white caress is a supply of cool water, rippling only slightly without the wind to toss it's surface. You lean in and begin lapping up generous amounts, before suddenly you hear a noise and turn to see your alpha. She is greatly displeased judging by her stance and bared teeth.
>Bow in submission
>Attempt to give her the scratch of dominance
>Run and hide, lest you suffer her ire
You approach her and rear up on your hind legs, running your foreclaws along the length of her leg, in attempt to establish dominance. She does not submit, and instead snatches you by your neck and carries you out of the cool water chamber. You are marched through the chamber of bonding with your tail between your legs in shame, and are then tossed to outside. The great wooden portal seals behind you, and when you check the less great metal portal, it too is sealed, preventing you from returning to inside.
Outside is a large place, full of flora and fauns of all kinds. You are not permitted often to leave the barrier of twisted steel, but you have seen the world beyond, and it is beautiful. You sniff the ground, and find several scents.
>Follow the scent of "not a dog"
>Follow the scent of "female"
>Follow the scent of water
You set your nose to the ground and follow the scent of a female. It leads you to the edge of the barrier of twisted steel, where you find a small gap just large enough to dig under.
>Exit the barrier
>Stay within the barrier
You wiggle your small body beneath the barrier of twisted steel and enter The
You wander in circles briefly, before finding the scent of female again and continuing to follow it. The trail leads you to another lair, where a not a dog lies sleeping atop the wanderer's signpost, where wanderers often leave offerings to alphas in exchange for the right to pass through the territory of packs.
A not a dog is a beast that resembles a dog, but has been twisted by evil forces. It is lithe, flexible, and bares claws that can cut through even the toughest leather. They are dangerous demons, but you have learned their ways, and know the method to defeat one in single combat. Still, it may be best to leave the not a dog be, and continue on your way.
>Disturb the not a dog
>Leave the not a dog
>Mark the signpost for your pack
You raise your leg and release the mark of your lair. You are sure to coat the base of the signpost well, until you are nearly dry.
However, when you finish, you sense something amiss. You are stricken in the back by a fierce claw, and whine in pain. You look up and see that the not a dog has woken, and now leaps down to meet you. It hisses, and swipes at you in anger.
>Stand your ground
>Attempt to communicate
You attempt to communicate with the not a dog. You use your most clear and pronounced body language, hoping to somehow get through to the dull and underdeveloped mind of the demon. By a miracle, it seems to understand. It's language is primitive, amounting to little more than savage gestures, and it's face is certainly difficult to watch for its hideousness, but with some effort you get your point across.
Not a dogs are difficult to dominate, so for now you'll have to settle on a truce. In the meantime, the not a dog will need a designation, as all pack members do.
>Roll 1d100, highest names the not a dog
You designate the not a dog Ouchclaw for now, and bring him along with you on your journey. He is a terrible companion for conversation, but as you roam together many passersby notice you and praise the both, offering you scratch. It is pleasurable.
Soon enough, the scent of female leads you to a lair far from yours, though you have no way to conceive the passage of time or distance beyond boredom. Behind a wall of tree body you smell the female, and her scent is strong enough as to suggest she is fit to bare your pups. you and Ouchclaw stand beside the tree body wall, and contemplate entering.
>Dig beneath the wall
>Leave, the danger is too great
>Bark, and attempt to gain the female's attention
You order Ouchclaw to scout the area beyond the tree body wall. It takes a few attempts due to his sheer stupidity, but eventually he follows through.
When he returns, he reports the female is playing alone with a chewing orb, and there appear to be no others in sight either outside or through the windows.
>Dig beneath the tree body wall
>Bark to attract the female
>Order Ouchclaw to find a route in, hoping his mental deficiency doesn't lead him into danger
You bark to notify the female of your presence. you hear noise from beyond the tree body wall, and sense her on the other side. The two of you work together to gnaw a hole in the tree body wall large enough for you and your companion to fit through.
At last the time has come, but your victory is short lived, as just as you reach the other side you sense another. A larger dog approaches, and using his superior strength he breeches the hole in the tree body wall. Ouchclaw hisses, and you sense you must act quickly to secure the future of your genetic code.
>Attack the larger dog together with Ouchclaw
>Command Ouchclaw to defend you while you begin the ritual
>Flee for now, you will have other chances
>Attack the larger dog with Ouchclaw.
Not a dogs are ferocious, and can easily take out Dogs five times their size. The only reason we can fight them in single combat is because we are Super Dog. We can do this! We must secure the female!
What breed is she?
You and Ouchclaw use your swiftness to try and outmaneuver the larger dog. Ouchclaw, true to his primitive nature, leaps directly into the face of the larger dog, planting his claws as deep as he is able. You can only scoff as the larger dog shakes to and fro, attempting to throw Ouchclaw loose.
You are smarter, however, and choose to attack a more sensible area.
You attack his balls with an SSS combo of fangs and claws. He goes down in minutes, and though your victory was undignified, you are victorious.
You find Ouchclaw, battered but not broken, licking his wounds as the larger dog whimpers and wiggles his way back out through the hole in the tree body wall. The female presents herself, and you prepare to undergo the ritual.
>Tell Ouchclaw to look away for his own innocence
>Demand he watch your triumph
>Double team her with Ouchclaw.
But we get the breeding bit. We have to secure us some pups with the large female. I'm assuming Irish Setter since you didn't specify what kind.
>Other. Double team her with Ouchclaw.
Let's give Ouchclaw his reward for helping us.
I'll assume Irish Setter too, they are beautiful dogs, and one of my friends use to own one.
You complete the ritual of breeding, and Ouchclaw merely bats at a butterfly near a flowerbed across the grass.
After completion, the female denies you further right to linger in her territory, as is tradition. The deed done, you and Ouchclaw proceed to make your way back through the tree body wall. You are a bit sleepy, and very hungry now. you consider returning home, but are also intrigues by the possibilities of The Beyond you have not yet witnessed.
>Return to the lair
>Find food in The Beyond
>Find a place to rest in The Beyond
The act of breeding with a female has gifted you with the realization your entire existence to this point has been misunderstood, and the gnawing secret in your heart has come out- you are trans!
>Come out to Ouchclaw as a female
It feels as if we should make a tribute of friendship to Ouchclaw, if we wish to cement this alliance for the future of the pack.
And because he's been areal bro so far
>Find food in the Beyond (but something for Ouchclaw)
You feel a sensation of emptiness within you as you come to terms with a truth you had long known, but never come to face. You confess to Ouchclaw that though you were born an extremely virile male, you known in your soul that you are female. Ouchclaw, being a creature of small mental capacity, argues that this cannot be held true, as all creatures have but one role to fill in the circle of life, and to deviate from it is to laugh in the face of creation. You attempt to persuade Ouchclaw, claiming that though nature does indeed decide much, your kind has evolved to a point where often psychology can play a more pivotal role in determining one's outlook on the world. Ouchclaw merely rolls his eyes in condescension.
>Insist that Ouchclaw accept your point of view, under penalty of domination
>Accept Ouchclaw for his perspective, and agree to disagree though you feel he is short sighted
>Go your separate ways. If he cannot accept who you are, you have no need of his companionship
I'm torn, but I think we should:
>Other. Look for more females.
I mean, the hilarity of the trans one seems good, but then there's the possiblility of being the dog who got every female.
All of them.
You realize your mistake, and relinquish your brief status as a female and return to your previously assume role as a male. Ouchclaw seems satisfied.
The two of you wander a while longer, and eventually become quite famished from all the exercise. Ouchclaw claims to know a place to find both food and fornication, but warns you that the trek will be dangerous.
>Remain in the area you know
>Go with Ouchclaw
Perversion is a deadly dungeon to crawl
I won't stand for any more of this rabble-rousing
I don't care what you are, let's just get on with the tale
>Be not a dog
>Minding my own business by some twisted metal wall
>Suddenly a filthy not a cat reeking vaguely of sanitation water shows up
>Breaks language and species barrier to persuade me to join him in following some scent he picked up
>Follows scent to more not a cats
>Huge one charges at us
>Won't let difference in size deter me
>Face beast head on
>Actually attack the face
>Small not a cat goes straight for the balls
>Continues following scent to another not a cat
>Right in front of me
>Play with some butterflies trying to ignore the panting
>Walk with not a cat back home
>Not a cat thanks me for help
>Not a cat seems to feel guilty for not letting me have a turn with the female
>Promises that I can have the next female
>Tells me that he is really a female
>>Promises that I can have the next female
>>Tells me that he is really a female
You follow Ouchclaw away from your familiar surroundings, along the black path of shining beasts, for what seems like ages. Eventually, tired and hungry, you come to an alley. Within you smell food, but also not a dogs. Ouchclaw leads you in, and you soon discover the alley is full of not a dogs fighting one another for seemingly no reason. There are no females, and no apparent order to the chaos. There appears to be no hierarchy at all. Clearly the creatures are without sense.
You are approached by a not a dog of immense size, fattened you think on scraps from others he most likely stole from their bowls. Ouchclaw parleys with him, but is batted aside and into a pile of loose paper. The large not a dog growls at you.
>Fight the large not a dog in single combat
>Retreat from the alley
You run to Ouchclaw's side and help move the paper covering him out of the way so he can stand. He doesn't seem to badly injured, but his pride is forever wounded.
You turn back to see the large not a dog inspecting a female, and preparing the sick ritual of their kind. To witness it would be to invite your breakfast back from your gullet.
>Turn away and find food
>Attack the large not a dog together
>Attack alone, for the honor of your comrade
I'd hope that's not what this is.
We won't stand a chance against the King of the Sunday Funnies.
You attack as one, knocking the large not a dog away from his mate. Though he is powerful, his movements are slow and lethargic. With two of you together, fighting as a team, he is nothing but a fat weakling, too tired to even swipe you well.
Unfortunately, every not a dog has his day, and as you bite at his hind leg, you take a scratch to the eye. You lose sight with it, and are unsure if you'll regain it, but your rage allows you to push yourself further, and defeat the large not a dog. He scampers away wailing, and you bark to establish your victory.
You look over to Ouchclaw, and see him already hard at work on the female from before.
>Wait somewhere else for him to finish
>Take the prized female, allow him to have the seconds
>Do as the Romans do
1. It's a single person
2. The idea was memetic enough to garner a self propagating following. This happens pretty often in quests and if succesful becomes either a running gag or a character trait.
You tag team the female with Ouchclaw, and though you find the act depraved and filthy, a part of you you didn't know you had is somehow sated.
After finishing, you and Ouchclaw are near starved. Ouchclaw offers to find food nearby.
We must feed to continue living so that we may survive to fuck more!
Also where is the light orb in the sky? We forgot to inform our pack of our plans to explore and expand our territory and they might be worried!
Ouchclaw is our pack now, we only exist to copulate with all females of all species; we were transgender only minutes ago, our awareness has expanded beyond that dim hovel we once lived.
Follow Ouchclaw, we need to find new females.
Ouchclaw leads you a short ways away, to a steel portal that greatly resembles the tree body portals of your lair. He takes a position out of view, and after a few minutes, the portal opens and from it a large alpha comes, bearing a metal food relic. He empties the relic into a nearby trash bin, and retreats back into the steel portal. Ouchclaw hops up, and begins inspecting the contents.
>Ask Ouchclaw to throw down some food
>Try to climb up
>Try to knock over the bin
You leap up to the rim of the bin, but lacking the nimble feet of a not a dog, you fall in and are covered in food. That said, you have a taste and find it quite delicious. You begin eating as Ouchclaw does, and the two of you fill up shortly.
When you finally climb back out of the bin, it is full dark out, and you are exhausted.
>Ask Ouchclaw to find somewhere to sleep
>Find your way home
You invite Ouchclaw to return to your lair with you. He thinks it over, as best as his tiny mind can, and agrees. With your nose, retracing your steps is trivial.
After a long walk, you are back at the barrier of twisted steel that protects your territory, and the two of you squeeze under it together. You approach the tree body portal from which you left, but the small iron portal is still sealed. You rear up and scratch at the wooden portal, the traditional ritual to summon the alphas who control its movement, and before long it opens, revealing all three of your alphas, who whine and lift you from the ground.
They are exited at first, but soon grow annoyed with your food covered fur. Before you know it, you are thrown into a mass of warm water for a cleansing ritual, washing away the scent of your travels, and leaving you fluffy and cold.
You realize only now that Ouchclaw didn't make it inside. You search the lair for him, but he is absent. You try the small iron portal, and find it open, allowing you to pass through. On the other side, Ouchclaw stands proudly atop the twisted steel barrier, gazing out at The Beyond
>Invite him inside
>Leave him be
You tell Ouchclaw that he is part of your pack now, and that you will defend his right to live among you and yours. He seems concerned, but you merely reassure him that he will be safe and warm, and after a moment of gazing out at the night, he hops down and follows you inside.
You are spotted immediately by Shelly, who kneels to pet Ouchclaw. He is distrustful at first, but you let him know this is simply a ritual of bonding among dog. He remains passive, and allows her paws to stroke him, soon coming to enjoy the ritual.
To your surprise, Ouchclaw's presence is not detested, though you yourself would have found the idea disgusting only this morning. Before long, he is accepted as a member of the pack, beneath you but above the alpha male, who is useful only for breeding with the alpha female of the pack, as all dogs know.
Your days with Ouchclaw from then are filled with adventure and humping, and neither of you ever need travel The Beyond alone again.
That'll be a wrap, hope everyone had some fun! I certainly enjoyed writing this, not knowing at all what would happen. I'll probably keep doing oneshots in the future, or maybe longer runs if time permits, which it will not likely do.
Thanks for playing yall!
