And I posted:
Any requests for spells on those books? the only Ideas I could came out with that dont embarrass me are
A lifelink between mother and child so they have a shared hp pool, that way the child is less likely to die dur to a bad slip from the mom, for example.
A nausea-inducing curse so that the mother HATES alcohol, drugs and such stuff during pregnancy.
A healing spell for both mother and children, despite the children not being a "visible target" nor a "touch range" valid target, which means healers normally cant reach the child inside themother.
I have a number of other ideas I would name as embarrasing and am reticent to include. Would like your input on them. These being
1 - A 'curse' to define the gender of all children born from a target. That way Mako would only be able to give birth to males, and those males would only sire other males so there would be no contest for the throne. Of course the other use is to ensure females are born. 2 - Defining who the child will look most like. Again, even if Mako has daugthers, if they dont have black hair, there wouldnt be a issue with the throne. 3 - As a joke, I thought about making it possible for girl/girl couples to make one or both partners pregnant. You know how we made that joke about Mako thinking kisses led to pregnancy? what if there was a magic spell, curse or item that made it possible? since heroes are mant to add to the royal bloodline, I felt it would help explain why males arent considered vital in the empire. Basically, both girls swallow pill, girls kiss, one or both become pregnant. 4 - To keep the empress active, using magic, transferring the pregnancy to a willing recipient. One of her shadows, probably?
Like I said, I would like suggestions.
New use for the good old [Calm Emotions] D&D Spell. Or the [Bliss] Spell from the BoED
Or was that it's raison d etre to begin with?
>Since the world runs on JRPG logic, should we assume that most birth defects don't exist?
In the empire and in Alquia, at least. I think that the further away you move from imperial lands, the less likely a traditional witch is around to care for you during pregnancy.
And what do you mean specify characteristics? i was thinking that, since for interspecies marriages magic allows you to choose the race of the baby (elf or human, for example), it should be possible to determine to which parent the baby will resemble the closest.
So, we could for example, with Mako, be free to choose if we want the babies to have black or light brown hair, I think? though it would probably be less diplomatic problem if the baby had light brown hair rather than black.
I imagine the number of children should be easy to help along with magic too, as long as it is used within the first... uhmm at which point is it determined if a egg will split or not?
>what do you mean specify characteristics
Short or tall, color of the eyes and hair, starting Job and stats, whether their hair will be straight or curly.
>uhmm at which point is it determined if a egg will split or not?
Within the first week.
Wekkm if its within the week, im sure it can be arranged easily. Maybe a simple magic 'trap' such as a crystal that shines when a pregnant person passes her hand near it? would be popular in some temples. There's plenty of fertility gods after all, and im sure we could afford one.
>Short or tall
I guess the predisposition could be arranged, but food, environment and... I guess that level and stats would be huge factors in this world,
>color of the eyes and hair, starting Job
So far I don't see why not?
Uh... I had always gave NPCs a base 10 on all stats with +1d10 at level 1, then rearranged them so they fit to the class. I guess it could be something like 12+1d8? a small boost but not too big.
>whether their hair will be straight or curly.
Ah, I think its fine
That sounds needlessly complicated, why not just have a set have green and the other light blue or such? And we are already set on twins? since she has the responsibility of keeping the bloodline, I thought Ren would want at least ..uhmm i dont know the english terms for more than triplets. Was thinking 4.. quadruplets? just making a guess since in spanish its quadrillizos
is not like they just spawn out at the same time. Plus I think 3 boys 1 girl would be ideal.
The boys cant get the throne, but boys sure as hell can breed a lot faster than girls.
The girl gets the throne, the boys get busy making more children when they grow up.
I wanna ask why did you think they would all be girls, but I understand girls are cute.
Aaah, that does sound rather cute. Actually shouldnt that be rather possible? they are identical twins so isnt their genetic info technically the same? and with the same dad, it sounds doable, really.
I thought you meant both Mako and Ren would have twins each, but your idea is pretty cute too, and I like it. If noone oposses it, how about we go with it?
I still think Ren would have at least 1 boy besides a girl to inherit the throne.
thats the idea, yes. They can have perfectly good political or military careers
This might be a bit off topic but when you asked if the person who made the turbine engine was a reincarnated person or a succubus why not both it would be funny.
"So your Eleic?"
"Don't you feel some shame 'inventing' chess I could have invented baseball you know"
"Oh my gosh what a cute dress where 'slaps her cheeks' FOCUS YOU DITTS FOCUS DAMMIT"
Picture just a vague reference
Father? you assume Ren is gonna tell them who that person is?
dont worry im just kidding, im sure Ren wont just thank us and ditch us.
Well, I guess we should get started already.
Aritsu, Lyann and Yin are quite good at office work, actually.
While we give a quick once over to their work, they prepare more tea and tidy up the office a little, then talk to eachother while drinking tea in the small wooden platform/balcony before the garden.
Ah, that looks pretty nice. Three pretty girls sitting together for tea, it looks pretty nice... well, we should do some work, so can't go over...
We didn't found any flaws on the documents, of course.
"Uhm, those baths sound nice." -they've been talking about the orc city public baths- "But does a bath needs to be so large? our public baths are much smaller."
Yi sips her tea while holding the cup with both hands.
"The children love it." -comments Lyann
Ah, they seem like they're having a nice talk over tea and cakes.
When we look again, they're gone. I guess they went somewhere together... I wanna go too... uhhh I wanna go with the girls...
Well, they come back after a while.
"President, are you done?"
"Yes! we can go now."
"Actually, we finally convinced Yi to move unto the manor, so let's stay and help her move."
Lyann speaks while rolling up her long ponytails into buns, and securing them into place with small wooden sticks.
Ah, that's nice. Alright.
>Let's help and then throw a small party at the manor
>Let's have our servants help, and take all the girls out to dinner.
>>Let's help and then throw a small party at the manor
"Alright." -Miss Yin actually had a small apartment.
Well, it was more of a large room, but the building had large shared baths and other facilities. It feels surprisingly modern, but back on Earth, the roman empire already had condos.
It wasn't so much a chore as it would have been back on earth, either, thanks to Lyann's [Inventory] easily storing away nearly everything.
Less of a chore, and more of a nice walk through the capital.
>Let's give her the large room across the manor
>Let's give her a smaller room (still very comfy though) ...much closer to our room.
>Let's give her the large room across the manor
I'm not against casual fluffiness harassment, or of taking Yin to bed. Just that she'd probably want a safe place that doesn't reek of sex and she can get a night's sleep.
>>>Let's give her the large room across the manor
>I'm not against casual fluffiness harassment, or of taking Yin to bed. Just that she'd probably want a safe place that doesn't reek of sex and she can get a night's sleep.
Well, is not as if we spend a lot of time in that house. We haven't ever even had sex there, IIRC.
We move Yin into the large room across the manor, but when we wanted to help her unpack. Aritsu and Lyann hoswed us out to the door.
Well, I guess they have girl stuff to unpack?
Still, the hallway feels rather lonely... oh well its a chance to go to the kitchen and spend some time with our house staff.
That is how, as the master of the house, we where showing our people how we 'invent the sandwich' when Lyann and Aritsu come pick us up.
"Eldric, what are you doing? you're going to ruin your apetite for dinner time."
"It's fine, join me and let's have a sandwich for dinner our in the garden."
That leads to us, Yin, Lyann and Aritsu having sandwiches in the garden together with the honey bees as we enjoy watching the flowers and the pond.
"You know, you could grow fish in that pond." -suggests Yin before nibbling on her sandwich
"Do you know some colorful fish?"
"I thought you wanted to rise carps for their looks and elegance?"
With her fluffy tails and natural grace, plus her polite mannerisms at the office, Yin seems quite elegant, after all.
"I was thinking of having fresh sweet water fish from time to time. All we can get here are salt water fish. It's not the same taste."
Ah, right. She's actually from a farming family in the interior of the continent. She¿s polite and self edicated, but still quite practical and with a farmer's pragmatism, really.
"Well, isn't it hard to move live fish from inland to the shore?" -the elf princess says after swallowing her snack
"We could use a tank and the honey faeries could [treestride] us over right next to the pond."
Ah, is this why they say that familiarity breeds contempt? no, no, we still like Yin a lot, now we just see her in a more natural light, rather than just as the beautiful and efficient scholar at work, thats all.
She's a beautiful and efficient scholar who also eats, needs a place to sleep, likes to chew down the right side of her mouth, and sways her tails when having fun. She also likes fresh food.
Nothing wrong with any of that.
"Let's have a welcoming party." -we suggest while chewing, and Lyann looks at us dissaprovingly for talking with our mouth full.
"Ah, should we invite someone else?" -asks Aritsu
>Yes, let's invite... (suggest names)
>No, just us who (sometimes) live here
>Though maybe make it in a few days so that our cooks can get ready?
you want to deny them the experience of the sandwich!?
>Mako an Ren
anyone in mind?
also brb gonna go get a sandwich myself
back, will go check if theres fresh bread again in 10 minutes. Advantages of living across the street from a bakery.
For now, we give Yin a small, homely welcome home, but we'll begin to plan for a larger party in two weeks.
Ah, lets see... we have a 5 hours difference with Eopolis... 6 to Albion... it should already be morning time in Blacklake now...
We already spent the night up, then... well, it's fine, we're young, strong, and high level. One sleepless night is just an extra life lived at this point.
>Let's go back and see about finding the mana stone's family
>Let's advance our relationship with Yin a little by inviting her to the bath
>Let's just go to the bedroom and baptize the bed with Aritsu and Lyann
I guess it's fine
>>>Let's go back and see about finding the mana stone's family
>>>Let's just go to the bedroom and baptize the bed with Aritsu and Lyann
While we wait for a tie breaker, ill go check the bakery across the street again
We escort Yin to her room and leave to go back to Blacklake.
Indeed, it is just the early morning over there, and the sun is just about to rise over the horizon.
Following the address on the documents, we take a boat and go to a small island, mostly covered by a single family's laboratory.
The Laste family is a group of about 50 members, including 7 elderly and 20 children, which means almost 2 dozen active adults, all of which do research in one thing or another.
The black sheep of the family is a priest of the Light religion,
As we approach the island lab, a flying drone flies by... nope.
Its actually a very quiet, sane and normal research lab where people is working seriously. Except for the children playing in the docks when we arrive.
We explain the situation to the oldest of the kids, and she asks us to wait while she goes to call one of the adults.
>Explains our plans for the future and try to buy the patent
>Explains our plans for the future and offer them a partnership
>Just try to buy the patent
>>>Just try to buy the patent
>>>Explains our plans for the future and try to buy the patent
>>>Explains our plans for the future and offer them a partnership
We speak with the surviving spouse of the inventor. He is a man in his middle age, who is very proud of his late wife's many inventions.
"Ah, yes, the mana stone really helped make our cities cleaner. If you want to use it elswhere, I am fine with selling you a regional license so you can take good sanitation back to your homes."
He seems to be in a good mood. The license is more symbolic than anything, and its thus quite cheap. He just wants the patent itself to stay in the family.
We spend the morning talking with him, and he finally agrees with one condition. He wants it to be public domain within the Blacklake region,
>But we're buying the patent for everywhere
>>>But we're buying the patent for everywhere
>>Explains our plans for the future and offer them a partnership
So, we ended up paying 1100 gold coins, but bought the patent for every single region except blacklake, which means we can manufacture and sell anywhere but on blacklake.
Well, if anyone else wants to compete with us, s/he will have to manufacture and sell excliusively on Blacklake. It also means that the gnomes are free to come up with new uses for it within their country, but we get to profit off it anywhere else.
They keep their pride )and a nice sum of money) and we get to advance our industries and society everywhere else.
With that finally out of the way, the Laste family shows us around their home and laboratory. Well, most of their inventions are turnip peelers of some kind, but we do see some useful stuff, albeit they seem intent on using it for odd things.
Well, the juice extractor's purpose is to get clean hollowed out fruit shells for decorations and children's toys.
Who knew a melon could be hollowed so perfectly and to such a degree that it would make a good balloon once properly plugged, right?
Well, it looks like Aritsu and Lyann are nodding along as the gnomes show us around, but we cringe when we see them throw away the juice and guts of the fruits and keep the peel.
Obviously, we do buy a juice extractor, or a peeler, as they call it.
Whatever, we are gonna introduce our family to freshly and easily extracted fruit juice for breakfast.
Once we are back in the hotel room, the girls look at us funny as we start "peeling" several oranges.
"Eldric, why do you need so many balloons?"
"I didn't know the president still played with those, but I think its cute."
"What? no, its for the juice, come here!"
It seems we only have a couple of days left in Blacklake now.
>Lets just relax and enjoy them with the girls
>Lets go back home to Albion
>Lets go to the island and enjoy our last vacation days at the beach
>>>Lets go to the island and enjoy our last vacation days at the beach
We finish off vacations by relaxing on a beach chair with Aritsu, cuddling up to the elf princess while Lyann chases Stella, holding her swimsuit in her hands...
Really Lyann? you still haven't figured out that's the reason she doesn't wears it, that its just to make you chase (play with) her?
The family is all enjoying the beach together. Our dad and moms took the entire family to the beach, and are either resting or spending time with the babies in a shallow pool by the sea side, while the harpies and the rest of our pets play in the ocean.
Its a very nice way to end our vacations.
Mako and Ren arrive a little before sunset, wearing the swimsuits we got for them. Mako's is white and pink while Ren's is a black bikini.
Honestly, the night is quite warm and nice as we grill the meat on a bbq and enjoy a really nice time together.
>Make it special for Lyann
>Make it special for Aritsu
>Make it special for Mako (still 'saving' her for our wedding night, but we can still have a perfectly innocent night on the beach)
>Make it special for Ren (probably just get her used to kissing and touching)
>Make it special for Tanis (is about time, I think?)
>Make it special for Yin (how far do you want to go?
>Someone surprising comes to visit!
>>Make it special for Tanis (is about time, I think?)
>>Make it special for Lyann
>>>Make it special for Ren (probably just get her used to kissing and touching)

We have a tie, but my eyes are starting to itch, so after someone changes a vote or we get another vote, lets stop for this week, and we'll start with it next week, alright? I promise
back from using eyedrops. Feel a bit better now. You sure guys? i just had this great idea for Tanis.
Anyway, I actually remembered I need to go out, so I guess I need to stop here either way. How far do you wanna go with Ren, and do you want to go with Ren and Mako at the same time? I just thought it may be nice if Mako shows Ren how nice it is to kiss Eldric
Man, I was really hoping for some Tanis action this time around.
As for Ren, handholding and kissing, with Mako trying to be the older sister to show Ren how it's done.
Ren will probably have a Shadow do everything before she does it herself.
So, Ren, Mako, and a Shadow makeout session with Eldric.
anyway i have to go out. Will try and see you guys next week. Take care ok?
Oh you guys didnt suggest any spells and/or magical care for pregnancy. I have to go downtown and will be back much later, can you guys come up with some stuff meanwhile?
I liked the idea of allowing girls to have babies with other girls. That way we can have redheaded elfgirls thanks to Lyann x Aritsu or so.
Are we ever planning on playing after Eldric's time, like with other generations?
bacl from downtown. A doctor friend says that's just your body telling you need weird shit for some reason.
Honestly I disagree, theres no reason to crave anchovies
