A bit disapointed with their preorder "bonus" which is simply a DLC.
I'd like to support them, because god knows proper 40k games are rare, but fuck me if I don't want to wait for the ultimate edition of the game.
Is this going to be yet another lukewarm, watered-down bastardisation of a game that's too niche to appeal to regular gamers but to shallow to appeal to fans of the tabletop?
Where are the Eldar?
They were shown in some of the trailers.
And no, the devs are fans of the tabletop game. They repeatedly said in interviews, which I'm guessing you didn't bother look up, that they wanted to stay as close as the TT as possible.
TT Mordheim's biggest draw was the exploration, customisation and development of your warband. The video game locks you out of an astronomical amount of freedom that the original game offered.
No,they saud the campaign will be Imperials only.
You start with a big ass territory, fleet, loads of ressources, and as time passes, the attacks are more frequent and grow in strength, so you lose more and more.
Basically, desperate battles that become harder as time goes. I like the idea.
>In a GW game
Different devs have repeatedly said GX was against mods for their games and how they screen content, even the fucking sounds.
Which is ironic, considering they use DoW's musics like there's no tomorrow for their own vids on warhammer TV.
Is no one annoyed at apparent complete lack of mass of their ships?
Did you see that Eldar one get rammed and just move out of the way like a plastic ship on the table?
I was really expecting something with more... I dunno, "cinematic weight", you know? Something that looks like actual behemoths in space colliding...
It all looks so fast and light, it's kinda nagging me
It's litteraly the only point that bothers me.
When the ship is destroyes it's all right, but god, when it's not it just bounces off the prow of the ramming one like it's some sort of plastic toy.
Well, given that the Ultra's aren't anywhere near the Gothic sector in the first place I'd hope so.
What Space Marine chapters WERE involved in the Gothic campaign anyway? I'd guess the Dark Angels and Iron Hands would be close enough to get involved, maybe also White Consuls.
>will it be ultramarines only or i will be able to customize
>What Space Marine chapters WERE involved in the Gothic campaign anyway?
it looks like it's a Fist Exemplar, a member of the Chapter that replaced the Imperial Fists after they were destroyed by Orks.
>it looks like it's a Fist Exemplar, a member of the Chapter that replaced the Imperial Fists after they were destroyed by Orks.
>Video game with Space Marines that aren't the Blood Ravens or the ULTRAMARINES
About fucking time.
Probably for a expansion or different campaign. There are quite a few nval conflicts in 40K. No doubt they'll add in Necron, Tau and Tyranid fleets in sooner or later, would make sense to release them with an actual setting within 40k
Helly, I'd kill for a world engine mission that's unwinnable just to narrate it.
Pretty low, I'd say. They don't have any models to work off, and there's not much artwork either, so there's a lot of work to be done simply to hammer out the concept of them before you start modelling them or assigning stats.
The techpriest in that picture gives me a tiny amount of hope.
I really want to see an Ark Mechanicus in the game.
As far as other ships the admech use in fleet's, as far as previous fluff goes, it's just modified versions of other imperial ships, so the devs could just use the same models with more red paint and cogs with some edited stats.
>They don't have any models to work off
Yes they do. Cruisers, Battleships, Escorts, the works. Hell, they have a ground army for 40k now, too, with all the background fluff that entails. They'd still essentially be a re-skin of the Imperium with some added goodies (Fleet dfense turrets for everyone!)
Nothing with enough detail to get more than a general idea of what they're working with.
Kind of...but I don't think they'd approve of Imperial warships coming back ad little girls, and the Inquisition would have a field day deciphering this warp fuckery.
Drawfags, you know what must be done.
>Well then, no need to say Fists Exemplars.
I feel that they should be recognised though.
>Don't twist the knife in the wound and say IF. ;_;
I miss them too ;_;
>I didn't know the Fists Exemplar was at the 12th Black Crusade.
They are now at least.
I will keep calling them the Fists Exemplar in the vain and futile hope that ADB or someone from GW will read this and realize current BL is shit and hopefully take step to rectify it.
A boy has the right to dream
Nice little trailer, but I've seen nothing in it that can be easily identified as gameplay, or something done by the player. Everything either looks like a cover, or as piece of cutscene.
Is it PC at least, or Android like that Knight Titan game?
It'd take too much from other areas to add them until post launch.
>Different devs have repeatedly said GX was against mods for their games and how they screen content, even the fucking sounds.
I can load DoW right now and show you almost 20 races instead of 9.
I meant this. Fluff wise it has unknown origin.
It is pretty fun, though it still needs LOADS of work.
Right now, it is basically Spesh Muhreen multiplayer with some tweaks to movement and gunplay (that imo, make both better than in Spesh Muhreen), bigger maps, more classes, and vehicles. It also has a rudimentary squad system that sorta encourages team play more.
I dunno if it has anything to do with what the other guy said, but it's a pretty good interview with the head of licensing over at GW.
>"We absolutely want to see massive space ship battles based on Battlefleet Gothic, or a gang warfare game based on Necromunda, maybe a crazy violent racing game based on Gorkamorka."
MAKE IT HAPPEN FOCUS!
But that's heresy you fucking mon-keigh.
Angels of Redemption and Imperial Fists are the only Chapters explicitly said to have taken part according to lexicanum.
But you can assume the rest of the Astartes Praeses were part of it.
I love their artstyle for everything but the ships.
The ships are acceptable, but still a hair too shiny for my tastes.
Assuming the mechanics are acceptable, I'll love the game.
What would make it GGOATAY would be proper dynamic (or "dynamic") visual representation of damage to the ships. Less HP bars, more streaming air, flames, and bodies into the void.
Making an up-close shot of a crippled cruiser ramming as its final recourse all the better.
Don't you go questioning my devotion you little faggot.
That's the one where they claim it. Admittedly it's alpha footage, but I'm not so sure I see lasting damage; commentary on the forums suggest it isn't.
>dat sickening ram
C'mon, I'll still play it if that's what it looks like, but they can do a hell of a lot better than THAT.
>Yes, and stayed dead.
Nope. BA got near annihilated in Space Hulk. You make a phone call to Terra, they release some of that reserved gene seed and you repopulate.
>The Imperial Fists are gone now.
I'll believe it when a codex says it, not BL fanfic that can easily be explained away.
>I'll believe it when a codex says it, not BL fanfic that can easily be explained away.
Sounds like another check for "The latest except Black Library, fuck Black Library" on that fluff poll.
Part of me wants to say no, because I really like some of the books, but the I remember the 3rd Salamander book end with one of the main characters turning into a Super Saiyan to fight a Deamon.
Well yeah, because the Fist Exemplar took their name and their remaining assets. The Fists that exist in M41 are doppelgangers. The originals are dead, gone and swept under the rug.
Here's what Lexicanum says:
>In the opening shots of the War of the Beast, the Ork Battle Moon annihilated the imperial forces and "recharged" by consuming Ardamantua with tractor beams. The planet was shattered[1a], though the badly injured Imperial Fist Koorland was nonetheless recovered from its remains.
> badly injured Imperial Fist Koorland was nonetheless recovered from its remains.
There you go. Not all dead. They'll make a recovery.
They are fully codex complaint and so their shoulder trim varies depending on their company.
Tactical being required to capture points was amusing to find our and forces some team diversity.
They really need to nerf Stalker boaters though and make the lascannon charge faster.
Would you say it's worth getting in on it for the current price and that it'd keep going?
Probably not right now desu.
It still has loads of work to be done.
Maybe in a few months, after they have hopefully added Eldar in it, so we can actually see how combat works for non muhreens.
Most likely, we saw the black fortress and the planet killer
>mgw Abaddon had to go trough many hardships to built the planet killer while orks have storages of death stars and and bored mekaniks can make planet destroyer weapons whenever they want.
Look at it like this: We've seen that they have a grasp of how the tabletop version works. They mess it up too bad from there.
At best it is Dark Crusade/DoWII tier, at absolute worst it is Soulstorm tier.
So there's a pretty decent chance that they won't royally fuck it.
It's a PC game, not a tabletop game. It's as simple as fucking that. The 40kids cancer is bad enough as it is without you fucks trying to subvert long-held rules "because muh shitty tabletop is on pc naow".
In short, get this shit taken down and go talk on /v/ like you're supposed to. Or make this thread about that shitty extinct tabletopgame. Whichever. Just stop shitting up /tg/ with this trite.
Oh, cry me a fucking river. As far as first problems go, "Waah waah they don't know this shitty board game's awful history" is about as infantile as it gets.
>The 40kids cancer is bad enough as it is without you fucks trying to subvert long-held rules "because muh shitty tabletop is on pc naow".
Why don't you start crying first? It's /tg/ related, and unless you hold a gun to a mod's head it's not going away.
You nigger do realize that /tg/ has had discussions about vidya games, especially ones related to the tabletop, since the inception of this board, right?
Besides, you ain't the board police, you shitcunt.
> Just stop shitting up /tg/ with this trite.
We were having serious discussions about both the game and it's beloved /tg/ counter-part right up until you started shitting up the thread with your autist rage.
Besides, you're the only one complaining on a board which has already had plenty of BFG: A threads in the past, so kindly go shit yourself in rage elsewhere.
I just realised something, two of those characters are known in the fluff. Read below and you will see:
-Inquisitor Horst-Fought in the Armageddon War as well
-Admiral Cornelius von Ravensburg
Who is the Imperial Fist and Adeptus Mechanicus Techpriest? Also who is the leader of the Eldar in the Gothic Sector?
The Eldar leader was the price of pirates or something along those lines, there wasn't any exodite or craft word Eldar active during the war as far as we know, just the Eldar Corsairs.
No idea on the Marine, could be the Chapter Master considering the present company.
It's kind of impressive to see someone this ass blasted about something they have no control over and can just ignore :,)
There was an Eldar Corsair group known as the 'Executioners' so it could be them No named individuals though.
I can find no records on the Imperial Fists but it is mentioned that multiple Space Marine Chapters arrived once the Warp Storms started to dissipate.
Deathwatch is a fairly decent time waster if you have an iPad, spess mahreen bantz between themselves keep it fresh but it's pretty easy.
Space Hulk makes me want to tear my eyes out from frustration. Also makes a decent iPad game.
>tl;dr get them on a tablet.
