Instead of money, your purchasing power is measured to how useful have you been for the space governments
Since each planet has different needs, the amount fo Achievements you receive for the same job varies notably depending on where you're performing it.

That's part of it, but there are still differences between anglo currencies.
100 Euros connotes a different value than 100 dollars.
Each system will likely use their own currency, just like today with countries.
But there will be a dominate currency, that is accepted generally everywhere because of the military might backing it.
Either that, or an energy based currency.
Those are my two guesses.

Hell, as in "Hell to pay"
Greenbacks, Galactirubles, Aurics, DUCs (Denominated Unit of Currency).
In space setting with many varied cultures and governing bodies money as we know it would make little sense. Instead I prefer the concept of some universal very sought after substance that is valuable to almost every sentient race. For example take dust from Endless games. It's collection of nanomachines with various aplications. It's impossible to produce but instead could be harvested from almost every planet in the galaxy.

Mine are called phials (or more accurately, the standard unit is a microphial), but that has to do with the setting's specific lore on how currency is given a value rather than something general.
In practice, electronic currency is still the default and may as well just be credits, though.

Would there even be interstellar currencies?
Like, viable ones?
It seems to be something that hinges on stable, large-scale interstellar trade. If you just have traders that wander in with goods, sell them for goods that would be more valuable else where, and wander out-an interstellar art trader, basically-you don't really need a single overarching currency, just local ones and some sense for business.
Continuing above post,
