Don't make them furry, just 50%

Also, they would not have an Int Bonus. If anything, rabits would have penalties to Wis and Int, and Bonuses to Dex and either Con or Str.

>Having written the low-level kick-off to Hell's Vengeance, "The Hellfire Compact" I wanted to make players uncomfortable with what they were being asked to do. Many gamers seem to be evil-curious when that means killing dragons and fighting angels and summoning skeletal legions. But how about dealing with a dog trying to defend its master? Putting a noose around the neck of a priestess's son? Raising your weapons against a stubborn old couple? There's some messed up decisions in there and not a lot of glamour. I'm not trying to romanticize this, and I wasn't trying to make the most messed up things possible. These are realistic, small, real-world evils in there among the fantasy elements.
If you're playing an evil game and it makes you feel bad, well, maybe that speaks well of you.
But, if you're playing with someone who takes these in stride... maybe don't let them pet sit for you.

Wow, no punches pulled.
Would you, /pfg/?

Any recommendations for making Technology from the Technology guide more usable? I was thinking of combining all the colossal artifacts into one for the purpose of creation, and making it easier to find a power source.

Any suggestions on trimming down the prices? 72k for a +6 item is twice as much, while still taking a slot, though it isn't affected by AMF.

Lizardfolk Bladebound Magus. Weapon talks common and lizardfolk whereas the lizardfolk himself only knows lizardfolk.

Unchained Rogue is already a big upgrade without much extra complexity, consider switching to that at least.

Hidden Blade... eh, ask the player themselves.
>>
Any fun things I can do with Ascetic style and MoMS?
>>
>>44898093
I also suggested unchained rogue, but my DM gave some asspull excuse why he didn't suggest it. My running theory is that he loathes anything he isn't 100% familiar with, which makes sense because he's running a campaign in pathfinder despite it being ostensibly NOT a pathfinder campaign.

Or do you mean the raising guns to defiant, but not dangerous people? That does in fact not happen much in most European countries.

>>
>>44898241
Oh yeah THAT happens in Austria all the time. They don't shoot at people since they are socialized in a less violent culture, but you are describing exactly the main drawing pool of the police force over here.

It's not really that terrible for society all in all, they're still working a profession which they are fired from if they don't do it right.
>>
>>44898282
Adapt adventures and run a campaign in another setting?

And I mean... I feel like I'm pretty shit at worldbuilding too but my players seem to tolerate/enjoy the setting, so you never know.
>>
>>44898282

Tell us what kind of adventure you want to run and we'll probably be able to find you a proper country to set it in.
>>
>>44898260
>There weren't any solutions indicated, just problems to deal with.

The solutions were implied since all of those problems are scenarios we've seen American police handle all the time.

In this case; shoot the dog, beat the old couple while claiming they were resisting arrest, and hang the priestess's son.

What class would the offensively stereotypical American police officer be? Brawler?
>>
>>44898349
Ranger. Ranged combat style, and Favored Enemy against several humanoid races.
>>
>>44898349
Ranger, Brawler, or Savage Technologist Barbarian.
>>

IME as long as rogue players have a flanking buddy and can occasionally get a nice TWF full attack off they're happy.

If he wants some cheese at higher levels the sniper goggle and smoke/darkness vision abuse route is always open.

I'm a simple man, so even just whipping together a generic fantasy world would appeal to me. I mean, I have a few notes stashed away that basically amount to:

>players start at an adventurer's guild branch in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, take jobs from the town populace
>town is full of nutjobs and people with nowhere else to go, guild hall is full of losers that can't get anything done
>weird shit all over the place, monsters and monstrous races galore
>"monster-of-the-week" adventures, where the monster is either some dangerous murderbeast, harpy cults, gnoll raiders, or just a ttibe of a monstrous race that accidentally spooked some farmers
>some cult to a minor deity kidnaps a local herbalist's daughter, it turns out that the daughter is a homunculus
>something keeps killing the farmer's chickens, and some damn kids keep pranking the Tanner. The party finds out that a minor trickster spirit lives nearby and mistakes one member of the party for an old friend
>assorted random, generic fantasy bullshit
>have one big church to one "big-G"-esque god, and a pantheon of minor deities.

I am shit at doing any big, overarching plots or making anything be high-stakes. I have a vague idea of how to scale encounters as PCs hit mid levels, but no idea how to make any scenario that fits the encounters.

Doesn't happen often at all in Canada, and for now it's still a major scandal when it does. For now, despite the examples of our big bully in the south, our cops MOSTLY understand that escalating every situation to "weapons free" doesn't make anybody safer, and that tazing and pepper spray are NOT "compliance facilitators", they're alternatives to blowing a head off.

Just because someone talks back to you (freedom of speech, anyone?) doesn't mean you can just blow their kneecaps off.

Only the armed goons of rich aristocrats extending their authority to a level guaranteed to lead to guilliotines-everywhere-and-lets-execute-their-families-while-they-watch levels of bloody revolutions go around acting like US cops.

It just usually takes a generation or two of things having been bad enough for enough angry people to finally both decide "everyone in uniforms and suits must die" AND do something about it.

Seriously dude: cops acting like the ones in the US are a classic symptom of an empire on the verge of a nastyass implosion. It never ends well.
>>
>>44898287
Cops in Austria get fired for not doing it right? Cops do not get fired in America unless it makes national news, and it's more to cover asses and save face rather than any actual concern of wrongdoing. > Extremely hostile "police" force only used to protect the rich and influential
Literally only a problem in places with urban decay, like Missouri, and usually because police forces are so horribly underfunded that only the ruthless cheats stay in, or the precinct has to suck the teat of private funding. Further, in said districts with decay, the hatred between police, many of whom where also from a low-off background, and the poorer minorities feeds into each other in a reverse feedback loop that's further stoked by psycophants in media exacerbating this divide. This is literally not a problem outside of these large urban decay centers.
>Increasingly worse working conditions, with things like OSHA violations rampant but whistleblowers punished harshly for daring to point it out?
Blatantly a falsehood, and only really happens in corners of the deep south or northern industrial districts, who are really just doing the same methods as they've always done, just with ramped up production scaling to keep up with increasing global demand. Except the meat industry, fuck those guys.
>a North Korea level of "we don't believe in climate change and you can't make us" science?

The point isn't that those things can be put back in.

The point is that, by removing them, they're effectively whitewashing their setting to be more generic and inoffensive.

Plus, and this is always the important bit, by removing it from future work they've effectively killed the practice for future players, since someone who comes into the system today won't know about the Bearded/Unbearded *or* outlawing of Sarenrae.

In about 5-10 years, once the data properly cycles through public schooling and Bill Nye and Al Gore stop trying to push it too hard, it should be accepted as fact.

Also, don't trust any candidate who talks about "fixing" global warming. They are either an idiot who doesn't understand the root global causes and the societal implications of it, or they just want to steal your money. Your best bet is to either wait for a philanthropist with enough disposable income and incentive to figure it out, or wait for everything to crash and burn and society and the human population gets knocked down. Trust me, all of civilization has been fucking itself over with this since the Industrial Revolution, and as long as society as we know it exists there is no stopping the heat up. Meanwhile people are claiming to be making golden bullets to solve the problem, but are instead using it to fund vacations to private islands off the coast of Florida to fuck underage girls.

Plus, even if America can fix its problems, good bloody lick convincing the other countries to do so, such as the poorer nations that lack the means or incentive to do so, or China who currently has the market cornered on essential industrial resources (minerals and rare-earth metals that are essential to production of most everything in the modern era from computers to refridgerators) who have been and will gladly continue to destroy the earth and thier own people and culture just to make more money off of westerners.

Meanwhile both the Libs and the Republicans are idiots/schemers who are destroying themselves and eachother , with the Republicans being a three headed goat trying to kill itself and the Democrats being an asshole rat looking to be the top of the carrion pile to freely devour and Lord over everything.

Meanwhile /pol/ and tumblr just make things worse by causing people with opinions to further putrify in thier opinions and go insane causing it impossible for anyone to seek a sensible idea or middle ground from either of them

Meanwhile every other country faces similar issue themselves, creating a massive collective action problem for everyone, causing an inflated tragedy of the commons.

Don't call it a grave, its the future we've been forced to accept.

It's real, the problem is the alarmists are also clueless idiots for listening to All Gore and going crazy. The change is currently small, a global median increase of °2C, and that's the accumulated change from since the Industrial Revolution.

Also the evidence is based mostly upon sampling of atmospheric greenhouse gas reserves that have been stored away in antartic ice cores.

Also because both sides are idiots who don't understand the difference between "weather" and "climate"

Basically the trush is, the change is small but steady, and there's no feasible way to actually stop it without methods involving massive moral and ethical ramifications.

That doesn't stop the Libs from profiting off of the panicky populous though for the past several decades, especially since those early days the data wasn't really properly put together.

Oh hey look, a good use for unnerfed Broken Blade and Primal Fury.

Steelfist Commando Warlord in Primal Warrior Stance, use the X Knuckle boosts (which one depends on level) and the Shards of X Strikes (big damage boost, ignore DR/Hardness).
>>
>>44900972

Why do you guys hate those two disciplines, again? All I've ever heard is conjecture from anons and randoms on GitP crying that it out-damages unarchetyped Fighters or poorly optimized Barbarians.
>>
>>44901042
They've said Broken Blade, Primal Fury, and Thrashing Dragon are all over-tuned, and I believe that Steel Serpent was under-tuned.
>>
>>44901042
I don't hate them, I'm actually quite fond of the two disciplines. They are a bit excessive on the damage though, even if they don't appear that way at first blush. It's a combination of multi-attack maneuvers, big bonus dice, size increases and boosts that last for a whole round. Any of those by themselves isn't an issue, it's the fact that they can be layered together that puts the damage from those two disciplines in particular out of hand.
>>
Do strikes that require you to make an attack roll at range melee count as a melee attack for the purpose of feats?

I'm asking for Cursed Razor style.
>>
>>44901113
... Yes? They're not Attack Actions, but they're totally melee attacks.
>>
>>44901090

Don't go vengeance nerfing them is all I ask. Lots of people want all damage increases, boosts, DR bypassing, etc. stripped out entirely. 'Oh, you can make 3 attacks at -2 penalty each at level 5? see that's totally powerful.' Others then proceed to Beast Totem all over faces, TWF at level 6, etc etc etc.

And that's lower tier classes.

Your balancing point should be the Magus, Alchemist, and their ilk. Not the core Fighter or Rogue.

I need advice on feats for my Raven Lord harbinger

Feats:
Weapon Finesse (Rapier)
Deadly Agility
Piranha Strike
Grasp of Darkness
Dark Authority
Reach Through Shadows
Weapon Group Adaptation
Iron Will
Advanced Study
Discipline Focus (Shattered Mirror)

Due to the game style most of the fights will be one on one, so I think I should get rid of Dark Authority. In addition I do not have many close ranged strike/etc. so grasp through darkness doesn't really help (my maneuvers are either melee or medium/long range).

I focus on Shattered Mirror, Cursed Razor, and Eternal Guardian.

I have been thinking about Cursed Razor Style (only the first one).

Thoughts?
>>
>>44901090
you forgot to preface that with "at the cost of using unarmed strikes for most of them", which hurts a surprising amount due to how stupid-expensive unarmed striking is gear- and feat-wise.

flurry strike (and especially) steel flurry strike and the loose wording on the knuckle boosts seem to be the main offenders.

the easiest fix would be to make steel flurry a fullround (like many of the other "get lots of hits for one strike" maneuvers in other styles), and add "on attacks with style weapons" for the knuckle boosts, and MAYBE knock a (one, 1, single) die off them.
>>
>>44901065

Steel Serpent is a bit. I have to wonder how overtuned Primal Fury or Broken Blade are outside of PoW classes, though, especially ones that don't have scaling attack/damage modifiers as nice as theirs.
>>
>>44901215

I wouldn't knock a die off of Steel Flurry Strike if you're removing the chance to use Boosts on it. Compare it to what other decent martial classes are doing at level 6 with less set up and investment beyond 'lawl power attack'.

>>44901215

Doesn't Steel Flurry Strike stop scaling well once you're closer to mid levels? better Strikes to take, and everyone with full BAB starts making 3 attacks a round, or things like Magus have Imp. Crit and blow the dick right off of enemies with a scimitar.
>>
>>44901192
Our balance point has never been fighter, rogue or monk. Just take a look at the archetypes for those classes in PoW:E if you want proof. You get a lot more than you give on those archetypes.

But you can out-damage even a novaing magus if you abuse the right maneuvers from Primal Fury and Broken Blade and that's something we don't want to see.

The plan isn't to make maneuvers worse than existing options, it never was. The plan is to fix unseen and unbalanced interactions and introduce more flavorful, interesting options that make for interesting and dynamic fights.
>>
>>44901267
the die removal was on the boosts, not the strike.

Sort of. I can't go into to much detail right now because, as we've been saying for months, we need a break.

We've got a list of what needs fixed, and for most of the errata it's going to be math fixes and cleaning up wording. Some stuff will go down, some will go up and some will finally make sense so maybe y'all will stop bugging us about it. Going into more detail at this time would be pointless as we've yet to really get started.

>>44901292

Hey Elric, I have a player making a Harbinger built around Intimidation tanking with a mix of Cursed Razor, Black Seraph and Eternal Guardian, plus associated Style feats. Dark Focus is really impeding his character build and asked if he could replace it with Sanguine Empowerment (its a lot more flexible by comparison to Dark Focus) but not the Crimson Countess archetype itself. Do you think this acceptable or should I tell him to suck it up and take the full archetype?

He's not exactly doing any damage and he's investing a lot of resources into something that could get shut down as soon as an undead enemy appears (at least until higher levels..)
>>

Anon, by and large, you need not lecture these guys about this as tho they were Paizo.
>>44901215
>"at the cost of using unarmed strikes for most of them"
You don't need to use Unarmed for Broken Blade, it's just an option, and it doesn't even apply to Thrashing Dragon and Primal Fury at all.
>>
>>44901546

Magus with Stances and Boosts is pretty strong and makes their already noteworthy damage even more insane. But then you guys aren't balancing around Magus (though Warder/Magus is suggested for Bladecaster..) so uh.

Well anyway!

>>44901539

Ehn, I like the Warder/Magus combo, although Harbinger/Magus has more damage-oriented synergy.
>>
>>44901565
Honestly, if you DID have to use unarmed strikes for broken blade's extra attacks, it'd probably be balanced (although need some tweaks with boosts and stances still)

Maybe add in a special rule that makes your extra attack unarmed strikes not take TWF penalties, not provoke, and deal lethal damage.
>>
>>44901595

Especially with how shitty the Greater Unarmed Strike feat scales. And the feat plus magic item investment that requires to be decent.

Its more problematic when people start adding heavy blades to their style and using a Greatsword imo.
>>
One of my players wants to do a trip build as a warpriest. What are some essential feats outside of Combat Expertise and Improved Trip? He's going to be level 6.
>>
>>44901565
most of the strikes that add extra attacks in BB specifically say they're made as unarmed attacks, which unarmed attacks are a style weapon for.

flurry and steel flurry do not have that wording, and it leads to some frankly silly application, even fro such low level maneuvers.

and i'm referring specifically to BB since i have less experience with the other two (i recall that TD has plenty of good multi-hit strikes... as fullrounds, and primal fury has a size stance that's weaker than EFs, and can occasionally deal stat damage.)
>>
>>44901549
Ultimately it's up to you, but personally I'd tell him to take the whole archetype or none of it. It might not unbalance things, but the abilities in an archetype are meant to synergize with each other so if you're only using part of an archetype, you're hurting yourself.

Here it seems Paizo has refused to make a CE iconic. I can see their reasoning on this. Besides that True Neutral and Neutral Good seem to be the most uses alignment, followed by CG.

Neutral along the Chaos/Law axis and Good on the Good/Evil axis are the most populous, however none lag behind really except for Evil, and there are obvious reasons for that.

I want to see your all's thoughts on this.

Its getting the bonus across multiple styles without having to wait until much higher levels when Dark Focus allows a second style. And like I said, he's using three different styles to pull this off.

Harbinger is weirdly monofocused and pushes away using a lot of stuff outside of Cursed Razor..
>>
Morale for the AP I'm running has been low lately because of the amount of times the characters have died. How do I make them actually engaged in the game again? They seem to just make characters expecting to just go into a slaughter even when I'm making encounters easier.

No, harbinger's monofocus is intentional. Like I said, archetypes are designed with you taking the whole thing in mind. Picking them apart can cause issues with abilities scaling properly, missing out on ability synergy, and losing focus and direction.
>>
>>44901207
Help with this? Honestly looking at it I am unsure if I even need Piranha Strike either because I never want to be the one full attacking.

The fact that at level 15 I can expend maneuvers for lower level ones means I can get another Advanced Study for some good situational counters (since my bird can use them as well), or a discipline focus into Cursed Razor.

Take a little while out for some rp, play up the group's importance a bit.
Dole out some more equipment to bolster their odds.
Are you the guy that mentioned how the party blew thru like 10+ characters in a single fight?
>>
>>44901746
I'm not even sure what you're saying, is it because of the lack of evil characters?

I think that's mostly because CE & NE characters don't function in groups if you use the actual Paizo definition of CE & NE.

>Chaotic evil represents the destruction not only of beauty and life, but also of the order on which beauty and life depend.

>Chaotic evil characters live at the mercy of their own toxic passions. Their goals and methods may change on a whim, and they often crave novelty and variety in their lives.

>Serial killers, demon cultists, arsonists, dangerous hedonists, and others lured to atrocity by passion are drawn to this alignment.

>Neutral evil characters care only for themselves, and do whatever they think they can get away with. They place no stock in the ability of laws or codes to protect them, and thus don't bother to follow them. At the same time, they're less spontaneous and prone to whimsy than chaotic evil characters. In some ways, neutral evil is the purest form of evil, unburdened by any other tropes or tendencies. Whether a neutral evil character has chosen to practice evil for its own sake or—more often—simply has no empathy for others, the result is the same: cold, unfeeling cruelty.

Again, these don't function in groups because they'll fuck each other and their other party member's over by virtue of being their alignments. At least LE is functional in a group.
>>
>>44901828
They've gone through about five or six characters attempting one dungeon. This is also a dungeon where I decided to give the enemies actual group tactics rather than lining up to get killed by players. To make it worse I probably shouldn't have had said enemies loot the players and use the equipment of the dead characters against the new party too.
>>

I don't know, because when I said I was excited to take Bestow Curse because of how creative you can try to get with it, my DM said Bestow Curse can only apply numerical effects to someone. Wait...what? So the players have WBL for character building, and then that wealth just gets dumped into the enemies who get exponentially more wealthy? How does that work?

The lack of nonhuman characters (made worse by the fact that they've admitted not wanting to make a gnome/halfling/dwarf love interest in their APs because "it would be weird"), as well as their sole trans character having "they are trans" as their defining character trait and their only genderfluid character LITERALLY being an unseen Ninja. Add that all up together and it becomes obvious that they're only scratching the surface of "progressive" without actually doing anything with it. It's wearing the mask without bothering to do more.

Separate question: I've seen it mentioned on Gitp (Can't find the exact post) that the latest version of mystic now
1) Has access to all its readied maneuvers to use outside of battle, and

The genderfluid character is also asexual, the reason being her psyche is not that of a normal person. The ninja I believe specializes disguise, both of those more represent it being out of touch with its own identity than some progressive stance.

As for the "they are trans" dwarf. Yes it's a shallow character, it seems to have been made to appease the crowd.

>gnome/halfling/dwarf
Fear of being branded pedophiles I'm guessing. Short races have that risk. Also most people aren't attracted to short races, most people are attracted to more human ones.
>>
>>44902051
That is incorrect. You choose 2 maneuvers to have readied at all times when you choose your readied maneuvers by spending 10 minutes meditating. The final version of the mystic will have the ability to change these two chosen maneuvers outside of combat by spending 1 minute in meditation.
>>
>>44901987
I hope the GM realises how this can be turned against him; build a bunch of suboptimal characters who are loaded up with WBL in pricey but not overly useful gear, then roll up an actually optimized character, win the battles, and now have a PC with multiple times WBL.

So as before you only have access to two maneuvers out of combat, but you can switch between them in just a minute?

No one really cares about the race/gender/sexuality. People do note what happens though because indirectly Paizo exhibits its own forms of racism/sexism etc. Indirectly, the chart shows some things that would be capable of categorization in that sense.

For example, as stated before females (and MTF Trans) are predominantly placed in positions of divine magic. A quick look at this confirms that: the ratio of female-male-trans is 5-2-1. Characteristically divine magic is intimately connected with spirituality and Conjuration (Healing) or the various life-giving spells. That is to say, that by predominantly placing women in these roles it is following the same old trope of viewing femininity as creative or nurturing in a sense, that it is the empowering force within the setting. It is the wise and intuitive magic.

One could even go further by looking upon Alchemy, another class of magic sometimes ascribed to creative motives. Here Paizo emulates a conception of womb envy - or male jealousy of the feminine potential to create life, by not only placing alchemy in the position of a lesser magic (by which I mean having access to no 9th level casters), but also consistently penalizing the magic in their various rulings (ie. all the various Alchemy =/= magic scenarios). This leaves it in the position of a reduced proxy - a singular reminder that the masculine can never truly grasp nor replicate the procreative forces available to femininity.

To cement this ideal of femininity as the dominant influence within regards to creation or nurturing, we can look further by examining the male iconics which hold places within this category of divine magic and what we will witness is that they are assigned to both Tier 3 and 4. Once again, Paizo has given the masculine a taste but not more than a sip - for both their potentials are limited - a man may heal the wounds of his comrades but may never truly breathe life into them with the efficacy the feminine can.
>>
>>44902319
Well what do you recommend I do to improve from here on out?
>>
>>44902356
Yes.
But out of combat, this doesn't do much other than 'you run fast now'.

>>
>>44902356
Yes you can. I've done it before on a harbinger.
>>
>>44902379
This is a weird conspiracy theory.
>>
>>44902379
Now to turn our eyes onto the Iconic Shaman, for Shardra embodies this concept - the highest echelons of divine magic has been reached. The power over life and procreation readily accessible at a singular cost - Shardra's masculinity. Forsaking her maleness allowed Shardra to enter the "sisterhood" in a sense.

The alternative is to be evil as evidenced by Lazzero. If the masculine desires power over creation it must sacrifice its masculinity or sacrifice its potential "good" alignment.

Now one might argue conjuration Wizards or the Summoner as examples, or even necromancy - but here we see another problem. These options are not only available to the divine, but also regarded as either perverse (necromancy) or only a mere emulation (the Summoner/Conjuration). To elaborate, whilst the Summoner gains access to creation spells above his spell level, he lacks the creative influence of cures or resurrections. He doesn't create life or restore it, he pulls it from another plane of existence. Again, like Alchemy, the summoner attempts to glimpse the feminine quality of life-giving only to fall short. Necromancy however is dealt with in a more discriminatory fashion - its evil. The restoration of life or creation of life in regards to animation of undead is arguably deemed an act of rebellion against mother nature, and the Devs have stepped in to assert a few times, that such magic is inherently negative - that is there is no such moral flexibility in necromancy - it is undeniably an evil act. Good necromancers are simply non-canonical within the setting.

The closest arcane magic comes to mastering this nature of procreativity is in the witch - who unsurprisingly is female. Once again, the masculine will never truly understand nor command the powers of creation available to the feminine.

It is the reassertion of a tired old trope. Nothing more, nothing less. It stereotypes women indirectly, and fails to really subvert any ideals on the notion of femininity.
>>
>>44902128
His actual reasoning is that because all of the example curses from Bestow Curse are numeric in nature, the implication is that Bestow Curse can only ever apply numeric penalties. A curse like "Never speak of X event again" or "Never come here again" were the sorts of things I had in mind, although I never brought up the subject of something like "Take -X to stat whenever you are in this area". I still doubt that would have worked though, as he described those effects as not curses but potential trigger conditions for the higher level spell Mark of Justice.

I can't even begin to comment, because we lack information about just how badly you've failed. All I know right now is that somehow you allowed a party to beat themselves against the same dungeon over and over, and TPK'd them every single time. You cannot salvage that, that campaign is long since over.

If anything, you need to start from scratch and maybe realize that, if a fight would TPK a party, and likely send you into the downward spiral you're in now, THROW THE FIGHT. Have the monster beat on them for a while, then have it go down when it tries to use some sub-optimal attack or tactic, and allow the players to win. There's nothing else you can do. A TPK removes people from the game, they no longer care about what they're playing.

I'd have to see the whole session from start to finish to critique everything you do wrong.

People don't actually think there is some conspiracy to push men as having "womb envy". It's just obvious that they think divine casting is feminine. The rest of it is a lot of drivel.

It mentions the iconic wizard then just ignores him, then supposedly says:
> the masculine will never truly understand nor command the powers of creation available to the feminine.
Again, both the iconic wizard and cleric.

>The alternative is to be evil as evidenced by Lazzero. If the masculine desires power over creation it must sacrifice its masculinity or sacrifice its potential "good" alignment.
Again, drivel.

As much as I hate to say it, it was their choice. One player even made a character with no characterization beyond "I HAVE TO BEAT THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY KILLED MY ENTIRE FAMILY" I even suggested to them to go elsewhere, but they chose to try and brute force their way in the exact same way they came in, and I advised them that it wasn't a good idea.

>No one really cares about the race/gender/sexuality. People do note what happens though because indirectly Paizo exhibits its own forms of racism/sexism etc. Indirectly, the chart shows some things that would be capable of categorization in that sense.
My thing has always been, if it doesn't bear mentioning why bother. An addendum to this is I dislike when something goes out of its way to attempt to be "equal"...like if say a work uses one of those alternative pronouns or if it bounces in sections between he and she (the smaller the section, the more noticeable/jarring this is up to around like the chapter level where it's not really noticeable).
>>
>>44902501
Look to the golarion pantheon, too. Who resides in direct oposition to necromancy: Pharasma. It's by her decree that necromancy is evil. And if you want to dabble in necromancy, whose power must you emulate? Urgathoa, a woman who was so opposed to this feminine nature of creation that her entire set of sexual organs have been removed.
>>
>>44902566
Yes, but he interprets that as "you can come up with some numeric shit". Like I mentioned before, I wonder if something like "Take -X to stat whenever you are in this area" would work (I never thought to ask him about that before and I'm not going to bring the subject back up), but I'm pretty sure he would say no because that's the kind of thing he feels Mark of Justice exists for. The only sort of thing he thinks Bestow Curse can do is give a numeric penalty to a character.

I also pointed out that the rules for madness say you can use Bestow Curse to inflict someone with a madness like paranoia or amnesia, but he countered by saying that all of those madnesses have numeric penalties so that doesn't create an exception to how he thinks Bestow Curse works.

>>44902853
He wouldn't accept that, because our group has a pretty strict "Paizo-published material only" policy (when he's running, at least). Actually, he doesn't even allow all Paizo material, as all non-core races, gunslingers, hybrid classes, and occult classes are banned too. Anything he feels is too powerful is also banned, although that's a relatively short list that we generally agree on, like Sacred Geometry. He did decide that magi shouldn't get an extra weapon attack from using Spell Combat with Spellstrike in the first session I joined the group, though.

This whole post kind of paints him in a worse light than I'd like it to, but given what I know of /pfg/'s generally attitude I'm sure most people in this thread would probably quit a game he was running if they were playing in it. I'm still playing with people I'm friends with outside the game though, which means I'm having fun all the same.

No, those aren't banned for being too powerful. They're banned for a combination of him disliking the flavor and also not wanting to have to learn a whole new set of classes and mechanics. The hybrid classes are banned for the second reason (and the first reason, in the case of some like the bloodrager), the gunslinger is banned for the first reason. Non-core races are banned because he feels that PCs should become special by virtue of their actions, not because of their unusual race. He has allowed a couple exceptions to his core-races only rule though.

What do you do when you need to come up with a character concept and realize you don't have any fresh, original ideas?

For example, I'm trying to come up with a character for a high-powered (as in the stats are incredible) campaign where all the magic items are divine artifacts and rare as such, and all I know about the general plot is it's fairly typical "stem the tide of evil" but I don't know exactly what that evil is.

If he's going full Int, maybe point him at the Host of Heroes, which upgrades the energy blast to have soft debuffs based on Int and lets it be used with initiator's soul. Lets you get more bang for your buck from having a high mental stat on a martial (and ranged rouch attacks helps if you max it at the expense of physicals).

Does lose reconfigure, but that's what initiator's soul is for!

that particular bouncing pattern reminds me of one of Belle, from Skies of Arcadia...

she'd display that sort of vector pattern while standing still as well.

Hey now enough about the iconics!

So, my character is going up against the Lumber Consortium, looking for evidence of their bullshit.

What are some entertaining crimes I could pin on those bitches once I get the proceedings underway properly to make sure they all fucking hang?

>What are some entertaining crimes I could pin on those bitches once I get the proceedings underway properly to make sure they all fucking hang?

Theft, extortion, murder, racketeering, deicide (some of those trees must have forest spirits.)
>>
So in the harbinger playtest it says that its no longer up to date. What all has been changed?
>>
>>44904729
Some abilities and some stance levels, iirc.

Hey DSP guys, can we get an ETA on when Expanded's coming out?
>>
>>44904794
Did we ever hear which abilities are changing? I'm looking into playing one and would like to know if it drastically changes things
>>
>>44904794
Not really but we're adding pictures to the docs at this time, so it's close. And I get my iconics for the bushi, hussar and privateer!
>>
>>44904855
What are the iconics for each of them?
>>
>>44904874
Bushi- Male Half-Orc Zweihander Sentinel Bushi Warder

Hussar- Male Halfing Warlord Hussar, he rides a goat.

Privateer- Female Tiefling Desperado Privateer Warlord.

Elric, why do you hate us so?

anyone have Pathfinder Player Companion: Agents of Evil?
>>
>>44904948
...Did you guys really make the Orc Blademaster the iconic bushi?
>>
Do you prefer charms or compulsions? I'm building an enchanter sorcerer and I don't know which I want to focus on.
>>
>>44904948
>half orc
Why not just go full orc
no half measures ya know?
>>
>>44905024
The archetypes stack really well and work well together. Trust me, I'm not going to write unoptimized Iconics. I want to show people what you can do with PoW.

>>44905056
Orc blademaster? No, I've had custom characters on the back burner for a bit waiting on confirmation for custom art to go with them.

>>44905088
Better stat spread and half-orcs are my favorite race in PF.
>>
Is there an ETA for a full Akashic book, or even plans to make one?
>>
>>44905163
It's coming. Our poor layout guy is working on Akasha, PoW:E and smaller releases all at the same time.
>>
>>44899589
uh, having worked in a relatively hazardous trade, I can say some OSHA requirements are just ridiculous and following them to the letter basically meant we couldn't do our job. I'm cool with eye protection and hard hats and whatnot but damn.
>>
>>44905047
What do you want from it?

First-world countries have universal healthcare, if an American who isn't rich has a healthcare emergency he or she is fucked for life.
>>
>>44905269
Actually, First World countries are ruled by the Eldest and populated with Fey.

we need more grizzled vets in iconics.

>Reactor Knight Call-Weaponry's mech-scale Rocket Launchers

>Warsoul freely swaps between his GBE and Zero/Arc/Laser rifle forms at will

>Axiomite Daevic is basically that chick in goldfinger, piloting a squad leader cohort's Hyaku-Shiki

>Circuitbreaker is FFVII's Cid

>Eclipse is actually a set of networked Psicrystals "each" piloting small fighter drones
>>
>>44905423
Well, I can't exactly post full back stories from my phone, but grizzled vet is not a back story we've neglected.

It was nothing but the party drinking tea on a lovely cruise ship during midsummer both in and out of the game (except IRL that drinks were spiked with copious amounts of vodka).
>>
>>44905653
Close, not exactly right but the same idea.
>>
>>44905269
Yeah, and after taxes, pricing penalties, and cost adjustments, your still paying the same amount, if not more, than you would normally have to pay for healthcare. Plus the the percentage of people without it who desperately need it is less than 1%, most other people are younger people who feel they don't need it, people who are already wealthy enough to not need it, and illegals.

Or you might just be lying through your teeth using rather common republican campaign talking points on the subect.
