Explain why you haven't rolled up a wizard today.
>>
Because oracles and sorcerers are easier to break.
>>
>>44666704
Because I'm DMing.
>>
>>44666704
Because I'm playing CoC and I start with mythos 0.
>>
Because I don't have a game.

Because we've been playing FFG Star Wars, and no hokey religion or ancient mumbo jumbo will ever be a match for a good blaster.

Really, there was some kind of trial nonsense where you should feel with the force to find a way out of a pit. I just blasted handholds into the wall and climbed out.
>>
Because I didn't roll a 9+ for INT
>>
I'm still not seeing a valid excuse in this thread

Because I prefer to play Rogues and not have to deal with yet another aspect of Resource Management. Also, fuck Wizards.

I'll play a Cleric if the Group REALLY needs one though.
>>
>>44666704
Because I'm playing a warlock at the moment since all the wizards in the setting are gigantic fags that spend all day fellating their paladin overlords
>>
Because Fighters are actually viable in 5e.
>>
Because I rolled a 16 for WIS so I'm going to try a Druid for once.
>>
I did. Yay 22 INT.
>>
>>44666704
Because a wizard has trouble casting when they have a foot of steel sticking out if their chest.
Signed,
The warrior
>>
>>44666704
Because a wizard can't cast for shit, with my dagger sticking out of his back.
Signed,
The rogue

Because my blast, never needs to be memorized, and I never run out.

Signed,
The warlock

I wish all these haters would stop hating...oh wait, I can do that.

Wizard casting Wish

You activated the Fighter's Mage Slayer feat. You've been Mage Slain.
>>
>>44668161
I wish these all these casters would stop casting and making more work for me.
Signed,
The Antimagic field.
>>
>>44666704
Because I don't roll up characters pointlessly.
>>
>>44668161
I never hated you. It was just business. Your wish had no effect.

Signed
The assassin
>>
>>44666704
Because I rolled up two wizards yesterday.
>>
Because spontaneous casters are more fun to play.
>>
Because my friend is do hyped up by the new SW movie that he dust off his old pic relared books

>mfw it's one of the worse D20 book after D20 modern
>mfw the other players never played with it before/think 4Ed was good
>>
Because I don't have a game.
>>
>>44666704
Our system of choice doesn't have magic. Yet.
>>
I hate that awkward second turn of combat where you're just like, "okay the enemies are all completely incapable of winning now, what would be the point of casting another spell" and then getting looks from the other players (ie the mop-up crew) because I don't feel like wasting time making pointless crossbow attacks.
>>
>>44668673
>posting SAGA and not star wars d20
>>
>>44669551
One of the reasons why they have infinite cantrips now, I suppose.
>>
>>44668673
>Worst book after d20 Modern
Try this.
I knew after one of the designers for 5e listed this fucking book as one of his past projects the new edition would disappoint me.
>>
>>44669551
Shit gm dected.

Find a new one.
>>
>>44669925
I don't think any GM can fix a game that is designed to be broken.
>>
>>44666704
Because I'm GMing for an all-robot party.
>>
>>44669992
kek

Yet MANY groups have no trouble with it.

Srsly, have you ever played?
>>
>>44670144
>popular doesn't mean good
>>
>>44670167
If group A plays for years without problems, it must be possible.

Odds are, the complainers are "that guy" douches.

If I don't like a game, I don't play it. I don't ramble on posting about how broken it is, I just ignore it.

Complainers are cunts usually.
>>
>>44670230
It's perfectly possible to play a good game of Monopoly, too.
Why do you think it got sold so much?
>>
The worst players, the worst designers and in general the worst humans are the ones that can never acknowledge that the system has flaws, it's always user error no matter what.
>>
>>44670774
>It's not a bug, it's a feature!
>>
>>44670475
No. I played once with a couple assholes, and it wasn't fun.
Thus, the game is shit, because I am a special snowflake, unique and perfect.

Assholes+Bad Game = Bad Experience
Assholes+Good Game = Bad Experience/Okay Experience
Good Friends+Good Game = Good Experience
Good Friends+Bad Game = Good Experience/Okay Experience
Can you see what I'm saying?
>>
>>44666704
Explain why people are making so many shitty one line threads with tangential relation to /tg/ that provoke little real discussion and feel more like they belong on reddit then on 4chan?

Sorry, I've seen some of the complaints from tg users.
They aren't 'good' people. I can tell a whiney bitch from a decent dude.
>>
>>44671352
Eh.
I've known assholes who want to exploit wizards to the max and assholes who bitch about their CN rogue waifu, I mean, OC donutsteel, I mean character to win everything without having the mechanical backing to do so.
Assholes are assholes on either side of the argument. I just don't think 3.5 is well designed from a gameplay perspective, even though it can produce fantastic adventures.
That's the long and short of it.
>>
>>44671427
I agree. Completely.

We've had a lot of fun out of it. ( mainly core and a couple other books)
We've not encountered the stuff people complain about here. Doesn't mean problems don't exist, just that somehow, we don't bumb into them.

Why so many others have these issues? I can only guess.
Guesses:
1. Too many supplements
2. Making magic street-level common
3. Trying to make superhero PCs
4. Thinking its about class vs class
5. Weak dm's
6. System doesn't flex well( IMO)
>>
>>44666704
>>44671074
I'm already playing one.
>>
Because I'm kanekiposting.
>>
Today is a rest day. I roll wizards Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday through Friday. I never skip familiar day
>>
>>44666704
Because my magic is IN MY BLOOD, not cribbed from Magic For Dummies!
>>
>>44666704
This one guy seems to only roll arcanists and I'm not going to be a faggot make our three-person party 2/3 squishy mages just because I want spellcasting to be my main character gimmick.
>>
But I did. A Blacksmith Musclewizard Alchemist Amazon. She's also an alcoholic. Is it a potion, or sake? Let's find out together!
>>
>>44666704
>Explain why you haven't rolled up a wizard today.
Because I only roll a new wizard when my previous wizard dies.
Heads up: I probably won't be rolling up a new wizard tomorrow, either.
>>
I identify myself with a sorcerer
>>
Because I already have a character and rolling up a 2nd one without the group gathered would cause problems.

L5R. Dragon Clan Shugenja (samurai wizard) tend to be alchemists and/or blacksmiths. I gave her the Large advantage, and improved her strength to the chargen cap of 4.

I wasn't bullied in high school

Because I have a soul.

>>44669551
>buff the party sky high before combat
>cast an save or die round one to remove half the enemies from the combat
>party still gets pissed when i sit down on the ground and pass every action from then on

life is hard for a wizard
>>
Because a cleric gets all the same shit, plus armor.
>>
>>44666704
They're not exactly made of paper ya know. Kinda hard to roll a person up.
