Degenesis is a setting. Like any setting you can play published adventures, or make your own. With the game just out, there are few available. There is The Tumbler tutorial and a book is being made. Also this isn't Hasbro where you are made to buy splat after splat just so you can play more than a hand full of builds.

The whole game is linked. Take the time and look at it.

I'm working on a scrapper town on the Franka coast. A dirty little hamlet covered in oil, rusted metal, and a few hovels. One of the scrappers is trying to fidangle a minisub so he can go off into the coast to recover debries from the ocean floor. Maybe have a chronicler there studying the strange markings on the ships off the coast. But that's all I got so far.

Though Marko said that the atlantic primer operates in a parasitic way, so it's probably the latter. So anyone made anything interesting with the system itself? I'm currently working on a homebrew for the setting that's focused more on the survival aspect of things and is replacing things like spore infestation for hunger/thirst.

Given the chakra's affinity to reproduction and creativity, I could see the whole thing as a rather rapidly mutating deal, not entirely unlike the biokinetics. Jump on a host, mutate the shit out of it, then fly apart into several new parasites to seek out new hosts.

Though the combination of tentacles and the sex-chakra could also go way into magical realm really quickly.

Underwater fungi do exist, so it might just be the regular cusps except you have to dry them first. Though yeah, scraping of some coral and snorting that might work as well, though corals don't seem to be particularly common in that corner of the world.

-It doesn't appear to be strictly (or even at all) hereditary, but still clusters around Cairo

One of the more common theories is that Psychovores are the end result of the Primer interacting with a certain brand of nanomachines that were developed in Cairo. If you go by that theory, it is quite possibly that the Anubians are people that are somehow receptive to those nanomachines, and are slowly being modified to interface with the Psychovores.

The Anubis Syndicate was a thing since the ancient pharaos. If I'm not mistaken their goal is to achieve immortality, and it's speculated that they already had contact with the primer thousands of years ago, hence the sicle swords and their effectiveness against the primerborn. Could explain how the syndicate was able to manipulate the psychovores: because they were already studying the primer for countless generations.
