I got my first dry *confirmed HFO after a year of failed attempts! There may be some handicaps I have created though.
I think what helped was:

I used Overwhelming by Elena. I've grown to really fucking love her work. She's so real and so trustworthy. Has anybody tried using virtual reality (Google cardboard, oculus rift, etc) to view hypno?

I have cardboard with the VR cinema app that will play regular movies accurately on the lenses of cardboard. The videos are not in 3d, but it does help with some of the sensory deprivation if strapped to your head along with a pair of headphones. View it in bed while in a dark room (possibly even bound to the bed) and there really isn't much escaping it. Yea, you could always close you eyes, but stop poking holes in my fantasy, dick.

I've tried "Sissy Subversion Volume 1" by SubversionHypnosis. I've also tried a bunch of Goddess Heidi's wacky and fast moving mind fuck videos. The real cost will be producing a quality hypnosis experience worthy of VR. It's not a cost that could be easily recouped given that the paying audience would be a small subset of an already small group of fetishists.

As far as 2D VR, I can't see many of the one-woman shows (which most of us hypnodommes are) spending $3K for a camera just to test VR waters, so the initial cost for a camera would be renting.

Many hypnodommes don't do nudity, others don't want to be on camera at all, so hiring an actress might be necessary for a lot of content. Not all, but plenty. But hiring an actress isn't ideal for most hypnodommes. (If the actress is just acting out a fantasy, you're limited in scope. If she's reading the script, you're now trying to sell content to your fans that doesn't have your voice, face, vocal delivery, etc.)

I think 3D inductions/sessions could be awesome. Small tangent - I think SightLine the Chair's use of gaze-direction mechanics to alter things you aren't looking at could lend itself well to a sort of visual confusion induction. Cool shit.

However, there isn't any lay-person-level software on the market that'll allow me to easily create customized animated VR to mesh with my scripts. If I want to edit photos or videos, I can learn Photoshop or Premiere. That level of software doesn't exist for 3D VR currently. And I can't teach myself something like Unreal Engine 4 for a barely-there shot at a return on such a MASSIVE investment of time and energy.

So, at least now, I'd have to collaborate with an artist to create quality 3D. It'd cost me mid-four-figures to hire a skilled artist for long enough to create something good, thus precluding making a profit. (Unless a talented artist decides to offer his skills in service to me, that is!)

I do think we'll see 2D VR pop up more commonly from the outlets that create actress-hired-to-read-a-script hypnosis (and "hypnosis"). But probably not as soon from hypnodommes.

Altering a person's behavior is quite possible with hypnosis, but there's a lot of hypnosis out there that claims that just by listening you'll grow tits or some similar nonsense. There are of course hypnosis files that try and convince the listener to take hormones which could lead to breast growth, but again, that's a change in behavior, not a magical body alteration.

I think a big part of it is letting go of your expectations. you can't look at the hypnosis as your fetish when your listening. It's hard to do but if you want it to work you need to disconnect from your arousal at the thought of being hypnotized. Kind of paradoxical but it makes sense. You have to, first, above all else, RELAX, however you manage to do that and then you can begin to let go and be more susceptible to suggestion.

No, unless stated otherwise, you should be lying in bed or sitting in a chair, doing nothing but listening and relaxing. The problem could be you're too excited about the file's contents, you're too relaxed to the point of basically falling asleep, you're distracted by your thoughts, or, the worst possibility, hypnosis might just not work for you. It just isn't effective for some people.

The best advice I can give for how to trance is to listen to the sound of the hypnotist's voice more than the words she or he is saying. This should keep you focused enough so you're not falling asleep, but relaxed and spaced out enough that you're not overthinking or overanalyzing what's being said.

Have you guys found that triggers still implant if you fall asleep during the session? And I don't mean falling under; just straight up taking a nap

But I know your pain. It took me a long ass time before I experienced something tangible. Months. And once I had that experience, I could never recapture it. That is, until I found the right tist. Then, over time, I would struggle. I had some sporadic success. With others, I can mostly judge by their files. I never really read the blogs and stuff of anyone else.

Mistress Zaida has made some nice, simple files that worked pretty well for me. I like her accent.

Ember seems pretty good too. I've only dipped my toe with her, but I really liked what I heard. Blue Lotus worked wonders the first time.

Mistress Carol seems pretty skilled, but it's been years since I last listened to her. Same goes for Mistress Joanne. Joanne has some issues with sound quality, or at least had back when I listened to her stuff. But she certainly knows what she's doing.

Alas, instant induction usually requires physical interaction. We can't shake anyone's hand and pull them off balance in a recording. This sort of induction is more in line with the natural phenomena of tonic immobility, I always think. There are other ways, but they take significant amounts of time, repetition and patience to achieve.

Powerful post-hypnotic suggestions need an extremely deep level of trance in order to occur. We're talking genuine somnambulance here, even tripping over into the Esdaile state. In person, the hypnotist would just keep going with induction and deepening until you get there. Without that, the full burden is on you the listener, to practice until you can reach that state in the five to fifteen minutes given in a recording. That's a pretty rare skill, but it is possible with enough training. Good luck!
