BadoinkVR only has a couple of decent vids, but that doesn't justify the monthly fee. I'm also a member of VRP and their vids are really made well, in the right proportions. They know what they are doing.

I think VR Player is pretty decent.
It's laid but worth it. The 3D is pretty good and the in video settings are good too (fast forward,pause, etc)
I tried AAA VR Cinema too, but found that I couldn't get the 3D effect I wanted. Plus fast forwarding is a pain. So difficult to reach the good parts unless you watch the whole video(or if you do use skip,it'll skip a major part)

milk vr and oculus video both let us watch 180degree videos but they don't let you reset the vertical position, personally i have found this really annoying as i like to lie down on my bed when i watch 180 degree videos.
the best solution i have found so far is to install "package disabler" and stop the gear vr service and then using "VR player" with the following settings applied:
full dome, distortion correction enabled, 96degrees fov, splices 64, slices 64
this is the best solution i have been able to come up with. my question for those that have Gear VRs is; do you have a better solution?

i emailed milkvr with a feature request for reorienting vertically here is the answer

"We have implemented this feature and our test team is testing it out. A long long press on the touch pad will reorient in any direction ( so we won't need the Oculus reorient anymore ). It should release in MilkVRv1.43. It was supposed to released in MilkVRv1.42, but we've had to shorten the number of features in 1.42 to get a release out for the Sundance film festival and CES this week.

MilkVR has fixed every Naughty America video. If you have the oculus versions of those videos, append the filename with _180x180_squished_3DH and you will see the videos no longer have any kind of distortion.

Yeah, whenever Milk VR gets updated I go to the FAQ of their website to see if any new projection styles are supported. I tested the "squished" style and it makes a big difference. I wish they would give us controls in the app to change the settings though. Cardboard has several VR video players that give you much greater control of how the video looks.

I noticed that the MilkVR FAQ says that _binaural_ can be used for binaural audio. Has anyone tried that? I'm not sure if it makes a difference since the producers don't use it, but then again, NaughtyAmerica hasn't updated their stuff with the _squished_ string yet.

It's much much harder to do 360 3D correctly than 180 3d. Plus current bandwith limitations on video for the top mobile headset (GearVR), means 360 video looks worse than 180.

The problem is this stuff is new and not everyone is making an effort for it not to suck ass.

Sometimes I am having trouble playing 60fps videos on my samsung. What I did was reencode them with pavtube converter to 50fps. I did not change resolution or audio properties but only fps.

Yeah Im using a shitty GS3 and I have the same issue.
I have a shit PC, so instead of waiting forever for it to convert, I just upload the videos to google drive and let google process them.
The next day, using my PC, I click on the videos within google drive and play the videos just like a youtube vid.
I use the "Video DownloadHelper" extension on chrome/firefox and download the 1080p stream since its a lower bit/datarate and framerate.

I hope this helps anyone who have similar issues.
