Something I found pretty quick, matches up with what I was told in the mid 00's when I had surgery for my arm issues. Regardless, it's mostly the year round shit with club baseball never ending that causes issues. I think I went 5 years as a kid never having more than like 3 weeks off baseball.

ok, that's all that matters

but I can just picture all the players standing around awkwardly being unable to bend down like their defeated foes, out of respect for all of the fallen. They clearly really want to gather some of the beautiful black dirt, it's the only reason they wanted to get to koshien in the first place. In the end they go home dirtless, bags completely empty, forever a reminder that they stepped in the grand stage of koshien and left without anything significant to show for it, just some meaningless trophy that they can have replicated anywhere.
