Not sure all the deals were the best but the team has a good shot now with more talent and I think they made smart moves in letting players go that weren't necessary.

This has actually been a quality transfer window for MLS. We're getting less and less of the over the hill name-brand euros and more of the younger guys who have some quality that are either in their peak or hitting their peak. People will still point to 3-4 players and call it a retirement league but the reality is we're entering the era of legit young guys choosing to play in MLS. Next season is going to be even better with the increase in TAM/spending the league is talking about.

We want pro/rel some day but its idiotic to think it would work anytime soon. MLS is enjoyable for the very reason the same 2 teams don't buy all the talent and win the trophies every season, if you take away that we just become an inferior version of the rest of the world. The MLS system is working, there is absolutely no reason to change it aside from increasing spending in the coming years.

The examples i gave were of well run clubs being punished for having a bad year (newcastle) and not so well run mediocre clubs having great years (leicester).
