Did you fall for your own propaganda or was it poor reading comprehension? The FIA's wording makes it pretty clear that Sebastian "I will massacre you" Vettel was right.

>lifting/not accelerating is considered slowing/breaking in yellow flags zones
>it isn't considered slowing/breaking behind a safety car when you cause a crash
Literally no one has answered how this definition can be both breaking and not breaking.
Either last year there should have been more penalties for the yellow flags (there was one or 2 for Rosberg and 1 for Hamilton off the top of my head) or Hamilton is partially responsible for the crash (I also think Vettel should have stopped so is as at fault for the initial collision so in the end a racing incident with no fault)
>>
Last night I had three wanks to the same girl. Wasn't even Victoria either.
>>
>>76793657
the fuck are you talking about? The FIA clearly state his speed was constant as the telemetry shows, vettel simply accelerated into the back of him expecting him to do the same.

To sum up so far -

People who think it was partly Hamilton's fault:

> Bernie Ecclestone, the man who's been around in F1 since the 50s, was a driver, has run teams, and has owned the sport.
>Jackie Stewart, a 3xWDC and easily among the top 10 drivers of all time
>Jacques Villeneuve, 1xWDC and Indy500 winner from when Indycar was actually good

People who think HAM dindu nuffin -

> Sky F1, notorious niggercock gobblers
>Andrew Benson, known for heaps of British bias in his """"journalism""""
>People online who've never driven a racing car in their lives.

There's a relevant quote in one of the Senna biographies I've read, about the incident between Mansell and Senna at Adelaide in 1992.

Mansell was leading, Senna close behind, when, heading into a turn, Senna seemed to run into the back of Mansell, taking both drivers out.

It was deemed a racing incident, but lots of drivers, interviewed in that book said stuff along the lines of "Of course, in such an accident, you've got to put the blame on the guy behind, because he's the one who's following and has to look out for the car in front. But these are the kind of things non-racers can't judge from the outside. He brake-tested him, clear as day. He may not have braked, but even lifting a tad early, unexpectedly, can slow them enough to cause an incident. It's why you saw Mansell run away from the crash, because he knew what he'd done and didn't want to confront Senna. Drivers at that level, while approaching a corner complex, are often planning for two steps ahead of where they actually are."

It's not an exact quote, because I left the book in the US, but pretty close.

>the times he's based match the times he's an ass

Bernie's statements always have to be taken in the context that he's trying to achieve something that is not necessarily what he actually stated. His style of operation is a lot like the whole "4D chess vs everyone else playing checkers" meme come to life. He may say something retarded, but he does it to produce an effect.

Like back when everyone was clamoring for social media, he said social media won't help F1, and that F1 is targeted at oldfags who can afford Rolexes, not the youth. The teams (and their sponsors) disagreed, and began making social media inroads with younger fans on their own, to prove a point to Bernie.

Thing is, now Bernie had F1 active on social media, with teams engaging fans, without having to do a single thing himself. It's just his style of operation.

the television telemetry (calling it like that because it's not accurate at all of course) seems to be wrong. The speed at least. In the last part right before he gets rear ended, he seems to slow down faster than before, but the displayed is dropping fairly constant from the beginning until the collision.
That doesn't mean he braked, but my guess is he was applying a very little amount of throttle in the first part, and then released it completely causing the car to slow down quite a lot faster than before.

Anyway, as a driver running behind you don't expect the car in front to slow down even more after the 90° corner is taken. HAM knows that well enough. Everybody saying it wasn't deliberate is an idiot.

DRS would be a lot better if the leading car could defend its position.
It's better this year just because of the nature of the 2017 cars, but in years previous the leading car was a sitting duck.
A better option might be to make DRS a limited resources by putting a cap on the amount of time a driver can activate it, say 200 seconds, and they can activate it anywhere(though you'll really only want it on the straights) to either attack or defend.

From Joe's Award's notebook

>At the other end of the grid was Briatore, a man who keeps turning up in F1, despite the fact that he was thrown out of the sport some years back for a disgraceful piece of cheating which cost him his job. One does wonder why a NASDAQ-listed media company would want the association with such a person, but then one must also remember that Briatore was the man who brokered the Azerbaijan race contract, for which he receives a substantial commission each year. (Note to self: find country that needs Grand Prix and get $5 million annual commission on deal.)
>Briatore was swanning around with President Ilham Aliyev and Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva. The latter has a unique combination of roles that might tickle Donald Trump’s fancy. She is not only the Vice President, but also the First Lady, being married to the President. Still, such things seem to be the norm in Baku, where the race promoter is the also son of the Minister of Sport.

Nico could pick any line he wanted as long as there was space for lewlew car on the track, and there were plenty of space for Lewis when collision happened. Fun thing is people keep forgetting both cars were on parallel course and that it was Lewis hitting Nico there, not the other way around. The way he hit him afterwards upon returning the track is even more disgusting piece of shit, yet we have "don't forget to turn" instead of "don't hit your teammates car twice like a fucking retard".
Lewis actively ruined 2 races for Nico that season and still managed to somehow lose title running around crying about sabotage, muh engines and dude luck lmao.

Hey Losers,
My name is Lewis Hamilton, and I hate every single one of you. All of you are fat, retarded, no-lifes who spend every second of their day wishing I wasn't so fast so your favorite driver could win. You are everything bad in the world. Honestly, have any of you ever went for a gap? Do you know what being a real racing driver is? I mean, I guess it’s fun making fun of people because of your own insecurities, but you all take to a whole new level. This is even worse than talking shit to someone because his skin color.
Don’t be a stranger. Just hit me with your best shot. I’m pretty much perfect. I am a world champion, and the greatest F1 driver of all time. What car do you drive, other than a drawn Japanese anime car in your dreams? I also have a driving IQ of 160, and have a hot model girlfriend (She just blew me; Shit was SO cash). You are all faggots who should just kill yourselves. Thanks for listening.

I loved the fact that the team's response was not only to say that Bottas was in fact making a run for 2nd, but also to point out that Hamilton's proposed strategy was too risky anyway, because Vettel might get into DRS range on Bottas. Apart from being selfish on Lewis' part, it was a half-baked idea.

>>
Come to think of it. Could mercs order williams to tell Stroll to slowdown and let Bottas through? That overtake was a really strange one.
>>
>>76806936
What Hamilton proposed had too likely outcomes:

1: He gets past Vettel for P4, and Bottas finishes 3rd. Hamilton gains one spot (and Vettel loses one) at the expense of Bottas giving up his chance at gaining one.
Or 2: Vettel gets past Bottas, and onto the podium, leaving Mercedes P4 and P5. Hamilton gains nothing, and Bottas not only loses his chance at 2nd, but falls off the podium entirely, while Vettel picks up a podium that he had no chance of otherwise.

The potential reward wasn't worth the risk, except in LH's egocentric head.

There's been a lot of discussion about the Vettel-Hamilton incident, with a lot of people thinking Hamilton brake tested Vettel, even after the FIA said the telemetry showed otherwise. I was just curious to see what they saw so I thought I'd have a look myself to see exactly how the whole incident panned out.

The evidence is abundantly clear that Hamilton didn't brake test Vettel. Hamilton slows at a fairly constant rate over about 3 seconds - not brake testing at all. Imo, the most likely explanation is that once Hamilton became the defacto safety car, Vettel tried to preempt what Hamilton was doing to stay as close as possible to his gearbox. After getting caught out on the previous restart, it's perfectly reasonable to attempt this, but it's a risky tactic and Vettel simply misjudged it.

The FIA also said that Hamilton behaved in a similar manner to his previous restarts in the race. These are in the bottom chart, and it's clear that Hamilton's approaches to turn 15 were not individually erratic. Each restart was also consistent with the others.

Data was obtained from the official F1 app. (SC1 = Safety Car 1, SC3 = Safety Car 3)

You're skipping the fact that he decelerated when everyone else expect you to accelerate. It's "normally" called brake testing, but it's 55km/h, it's laughable to call this brake testing.
You can't really put the blame on only one of them because one is slowing down in acceleration zone, other is having a tantrum and hitting him.
I'm not defending Vettee, I'm simply saying Hamilton isn't clean either. Brake test would be jamming your brakes before the braking point and making the guy behind you crash like Verstappen did in Monaco 2015, but he missed his braking point. Punishing someone for banging wheels at 50km/h is as laughable as claiming to be brake tested at 70km/h. Like, just fucking steer away.

The thing is, an acceleration zone isn't really an acceleration zone when you're in a Safety Car-period. Hamilton controls the pace. So at most, you can expect him to accelerate coming out of a corner, but you should not be caught off-guard when he slows down again. He controls the pace, it's not out of the ordinary for a post-SC pace keeper to slow down like Hamilton did. As with everything Hamilton does, there is an element of risk and an element of being on the limit of what's allowed. But the responsibility for contact #1 is with Vettel the most. He should've paid better attention.

As for the second contact, out of principle, I am of the opinion that turning in on a driver to deliberately hit him is worthy of a black flag/DQ/race ban. No matter what the speed is. Hamilton should not be told to steer away, Vettel should be told not to steer into a driver to deliberately hit him. It's not a racing situation where you try to defend your line or anything.

If anything, doing it in a neutralized situation makes it worse.

Hamilton isn't clean, but Vettel's excessive reaction to that definitely deserved an exponentially harder punishment than Hamilton if one would feel Hamilton deserves to be punished, they were not equal in how naughty they were.

Vettel moved alongside Hamilton and then the Ferrari turned into the Mercedes sharply.

Either the accident lies in Vettel being a moron who isn't in control of his own car without a sense of spatial awareness or he drove into him on purpose, thinking Hamilton would move or something. Both scenario's are unaccepatble.

Judging by Vettel's status as a 4x WDC and him having at least one hand on the steering wheel at all times, I'd say he turned in on purpose.

Why are a bunch of 4chan autists smarter than most of F1 commentators and """journalists"""?
We called this days ago and only now are the APOLOGIES coming in.
Why would you ever doubt a 4 time world champion?
>>
>>76810507
>Why are a bunch of 4chan autists smarter than most of F1 commentators and """journalists"""?
probably because most of media "pundits" or "experts" are paid to shill this or that driver, based on what their passports say, and pander to specific markets/sectors of audience?
paying attention to newspapers, TVs and online medias is pointless nowadays

When is the last time the intellectuals of our time have held power? Well, the only thing that springs to mind is of course Hitler's Reich! Before and after, time and time again, it's not the intellectuals that would rule the earth - it was the international Jew and it's many subversive institutes. Only a few (great) exceptions to this rule have existed, all of them in your history books. These rat-humans have infiltrated in every major institution existing in the West and have been preventing every great mind (ours, and in particular: mine) from developing. We must overthrow this alien creature and destroy them, forever damned to Hell!!!!!!!!

ARD (one of the three biggest tv stations in Germany) considers dropping DTM for Formula e.
This basically would kill DTM (but also help FE).

Well they are unable to see it bcause there simply was none. Also Ferrari didn't really burn oil. Those are just rumors because they swapped Seb's engine and on top of that the engine they swapped to is slower simply because it is close to death and needs to be nrused. Hamilton only closed the gap in sector 3.

what's the current state of DTM like? I know they went from 8 cars per manufacturer to 6 this year and the proposal to adopt the superGT engines was put off.

I was watching the hungaroring round on tv last week and those cars, while fast, look fucking boring as to race. Nowhere near as good racing as touring cars.

not up to date with anything DTM anymore but he's 30 and has some races last year so not really that much of a rookie anymore

Speeding 40 to 60 kmph over the limit is an immediate suspension of the license for 6 months, 60+ is one year upwards.

Also, getting caught for the same infraction thrice in a year or twice for some (like talking at the phone or no seatbelt).

Too bad the limit is fucking 50 everywhere here and tourists go 20 below that.

Getting pulled over for 35 in a 25 I can understand, it happens here in some uptight towns even though that's normal cruising speed. 35 in a 30 is ridiculous. In many states you get around a 5-6 mph buffer to account for speedometers/not giving everyone a ticket.

Hamilton seems to be ~0.2s faster in quali on average (maybe Bottas is shit at getting the tyres up to temperature enough?) but in the race they seem evenly matched. It's Bottas's shit starts that are letting him down, he brakes far too early for the first couple of corners and this lets Hamilton get a comfy gap to him.
