>"I once met Froch at my fitness centre. I first saw him talk to the girl at the reception counter, didn't really notice it was him at first. Just saw someone talk a lot while the girl was just nodding off and looking away. Later I went on doing some dumbbell rows and the guy next to me kept grunting and huffing doing bench presses with 30 pound dumbbells. Just kept doing reps and struggling to keep a clean pace with it. After a few sets of like 8 reps he turned to me and said, "Yeah yeah, what do you want, take a picture you git". I didn't even fucking understand what he was saying as he was mumbling under the volume of background music. Then he went on about hoe Groves was a little poofter and asked me if I saw Golovkin's latest fight, after which he kept saying how much he was a faggot. I just shrugged it off and went on. Later in the mens room he kept harrassing me, asking me if I wanted to see him do press-ups. He tried to follow me into the parking lot but I got in and drived away."
>>
>>74817895
you are really dumb
in terms of skill choc is absolutely still a top 10 p4p

the guy was simply too big for him, choc outboxed the shit out him, he just didn't have the capacity to properly hurt him so he couldn't stop the hits coming back
>>
>>74819541
>the guy was simply too big for him

Didn't look bigger than him to me

Gonzalez weighs like 125 lbs in the ring
>>
>>74819754
he was fighting several weightclasses above his comfort zone and it was his first fight at this weight
>>
>>74819823
>he was fighting several weightclasses above his comfort zone

He moved up because he can't make 112 any more. In fact he is reported to have struggled to make 115 too

No one who weighs 125+ lbs in the ring can claim to be small at 115. He was the one who was bullying smaller men (or equally drained guys) down at the smaller weights
>>
>>74820008
he's still a top 10 p4p
>>
>>74820055
Yeah I agree

But I've noticed that him being too small has become the prevailing narrative and I'm not buying it. If you rehydrate 10% of your body weight after the weigh-in, you're not small for your class

There were bigger size differences in Golovkin vs Jacobs, Jack vs DeGale and even Kovalev vs Ward
>>
>>74819244
I saw Carl Froch at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly

Gonzalez is without a doubt small for his weight. He forced himself to move up because he basically ate himself up to 115. Look at his physique and interviews he does when he out of camp. The guy balloons up in weight and looks chubby. You can barely get away with stuff like this at 147, much less at the lower weight classes. If you don't believe me then look at Roman's weigh in pictures for the Cuadras and Rungvisai fights and compare with the weigh in pictures of every other champion form 122 and below, none of them are as skinny-fat as him. I am not trying to make excuses for Gonzalez and say that the loss doesn't count, Choc chooses to fight at 115 while knowing that he is undersized for the weight so when he loses it's 100% his fault. Choc refuses to diet correctly and keep his weight on track off camp so any loss at any weight he chooses to fight is credible, but make no mistake, he IS small for his division, or rather, too fat.
Knowingly putting yourself at a physical disadvantage means you accept responsibility for the outcome of the fight whatever that may be, however it does not mean that the disadvantage does not exist (see Ward-Dawson)

>TL;DR
Choc is indeed small for 115 but it's his fault for getting fat.

This could be a bad spell for British boxing.

Spence has the edge on Brook, he probably punches harder and is going to be slightly bigger on the night when Kell's trimmed down. Parker has the edge on Hughie, he's had 2 real fights against Andy Ruiz and Carlos Takam where as Hughie's only real fight against Fred Kassi ended early because of a clash of heads. Hughie doesn't have power, is a bit shorter than Tyson and doesn't move quite as well as him and Peter Fury won't be there. Linares will probably beat Crolla by decision. The only boxer in a big fight I see winning is Joshua.

Kovalev is such a bully
>>
>>74832384
"good boy" and "big drama show" became a thing because of his broken English. Hes gotten better so he doesn't say it anymore

>>

>>

he literally said big drama show after the jacobs fight
>>
>>74833189
Must have missed it. Its a fan favorite, so u guess he does it for them
>>
Gonna go sparring with a friend of mine tomorrow again, couldn't get close to him the last time. Doesn't help that he's couple inches taller and has more reach.

How do I cut the distance without getting hit first, step in after the jab, ducking a bit?
>>
>>74833287

Try and use it against him. Step in to slip his jab and throw a hook to the body when he can't block it or duck under the jab to get inside. Throw the overhand right if he's leaving himself open for it
>>
>>74833444
Overhand rights are the only thing that landed cleanly on him the last time. He's just more fluent in combinations making me cover up to much, but I think that I could smother his attack more if I got closer to him.
>>
>>74833287
Angles, preemptive head movement, feints...
>>
>>74833028
I haven't seen much of BJS, how good of a chin does he have?
>>
>>74833287
punch him
>>
>>74833894
He's never been down, but he's never really fought a huge puncher either so hard to know. I'm mostly just shitposting desu, though BJS' main attribute is his movement so if GGG is slowing and he can get himself into the shape he was for Eubank you never know I suppose. Hard to seriously back him, funny as it would be for all the years of hype building for GGG vs Canelo to blow up in their face because they waited too long. Might actually convince some fighters that the MayPac model of stretching shit out endlessly isn't the one to go for,
>>
Why doesn't chocolatito just weight train if he wants to go up in weight? The amount of muscle mass he had at 105 is practically the same he has at 115, if he was stronger he'd have beat Rungvisai
>>
>>74832496
who the fuck is this???
>>
>>74833995
The only reason he's gone up in weight is that he's too lazy to stay in shape between fights.
>>
>>74832754
Oh well, our number of titlists was inflated anyway

I'm prouder of guys like Frampton and DeGale who faced the best and fell short than of guys like Saunders, Burns and Flanagan with their paper titles
>>
>>74833287

look at his face/ try to get a read on his eyes and see what he's doing. you can tell often by the facial expression what the opponent wants to do.

don't jab with him, just use ur feet and feint with yuor shoulders, w/ your head, with your feet, whatever you can to gain a split second advantage where he's off balance and you could move in. once you're within arms reach, start tapping him to the head and body and set him up for one big shot. ur only looking to take away his balance and get close so you can release ur hands. but don't swing hard w/ the first shot, only probing shots to set up one big shot. stay calm, breathe the whole time.

keep ur eyes open at all times, and always look at his face.

t. boxing master
>>
>>74834298

by don't jab w/ him I mean don't try to exchange REAL jabs w/ him. u can still jab to probe and feint, but don't commit until u know ur close enough
>>
>>74833943
Well i think that MayPac was derailed when Pac lost to Bradley then took a nap on the night of December 8, 2012
>>
>>74834206
In Saunders' defence he did almost sign for a Eubank rematch twice last year only for Sr to fuck him about.
>>
I doubt Saunders gets his shot at GGG in June now that it seems GBP are suddenly willing to negotiate in good faith (coincidentally as soon as GGG looks human)
>>
>>74834695
I thought DLH said that it would be less likely to happen
>>
>>74834845

He did.

>"Not that [Golovkin’s value] went down,” De La Hoya said. “I just feel that given today’s market, I really feel that GGG’s side has to be more than fair to make this fight.

>"I actually believe [the percentages of making the fight] decrease. It all depends on the negotiations – and we’ll continue talks – but now obviously we clearly know who the ‘A’ side is and that’s obviously Canelo. So I’m going to instruct my president, Eric Gomez, to continue talks and, hopefully, it can get done, but I strongly feel Canelo is obviously the ‘A’ side and there’s no doubt about it.”

If the rumoured 150,000 buys is true with only an extra $2 million at the gate compared to the Lemieux fight then he has a fair point. Golovkin is not a draw and should probably just accept $15 million.

There is literally no reason to buy a PPV unless you're showing a fight at a bar or for a large group of people

As the internet literate generation grows up hopefully this retarded system will die out
>>
>>74835544
>large group of people
That's why I bought it.

If Canelo/GGG ever happens I think Golovkin should immediately give him a low blow for making him wait so long. That wouldn't dq him, would it, just a point ?
>>
>>74835544

In the long term this is true and this is why Al Haymon wants tv channels to pay for it but other boxers can still draw on PPV. Canelo vs Cotto did 900k. Canelo vs Khan did 600k Mayweather vs Berto did around 500k. Pacquiao vs Bradley 3 which nobody wanted did around 450k. Those aren't great fights but still selling because of the A side involved. Golovkin doesn't deserve a percentage.
>>
>>74835718
Canelo Cotto wasn't a great fight?
>>
>>74835222

This is bullshit if he said that. The fight's just not gonna get made. GBP is a joke. Canelo's PPV's don't do much more than 200k themselves. Selling out cowboys stadium when you price seats at 20 bucks also inflates his actual value.

They're just scared. Canelo's a fag.
>>
>>74836190
Canelo is going to beat GGG and there is nothing you can do to stop it
>>
>>74836090

You can make an exception for that fight but it wasn't one I was massively excited about going into it as I thought Canelo would win comfortably, it turned out to be a good fight.

>>74836190

>Canelo's PPV's don't do much more than 200k themselves

Not true. Canelo vs Liam Smith did 300k buys and nobody in America had ever heard of Liam Smith. That was entirely driven by Canelo. After Golovkin has beat Saunders he should take what's on offer and fight Canelo, he had his chance to go to 168 and fight Carl Froch but they left it too late. He simply isn't worth that much.
>>
>>74836228

He has to take the fight first, green tooth.
>>
>>74836275

If Pac, Floyd or even Cotto did 300k buys with anyone they'd be considered finished. Canelo's an inflated product. Even with all the Mexicans in America he couldn't break 500k.

Golovkin has practically no Khazak base here and he still does somewhat comparable numbers. Canelo and his people are just worried. Well see if he can even get past Chavez Jr. I doubt it.
>>
PPV is counterproductive to boxing success. Way over priced, boxing needs to figure out a new business model or substantially reduce PPV cost

lmao so I see why you cucks need goobs
>>
What are your thoughts on Everlast sponsored athlete Brendan P. Schaub?
>>
>>74836347

He doesn't do comparable numbers that's the problem. Canelo vs Cotto did 900k. Chavez fight will at least the same or maybe break 1 million. Nobody had a clue who Liam Smith was and he still did double the Jacobs PPV number. They offered $15 million to do the fight and the Jacobs PPV shows that's all he's worth. He won't go up to 168 because he'll get beat.
>>
>>74836463

Cotto is an established draw. He does big #'s with just about anyone at this point in his career. Same w/ Khan. Canelo needs guys w/ their own large fan bases to do those #'s. On his own, he's in the 300k range.

As for Jacobs, nobody knew him and it was a bad idea for K2 to put this on ppv in the first place. Same mistake w/ Lemieux but they seem to be greedy or just stupid. Chavez will do good #'s for the same reasons listed above and Mexican nationalism. Nobody at 68' can beat GGG, and neither can Canelo, but GBP has a sweet little scam going atm.
>>
>>74834298
Can't really feint cause I need to keep my guard up near my temples or he'll keep tapping them.

>>74833902
Notice taken.
>>
>>74836500

Khan was known to Americans but not a PPV draw going into it. Canelo was the A side. Golovkin ducked Andre Ward at 168 and asked Carl Froch for 164 when it was asked for the first time. Jacobs ballooned in weight and gave him massive problems, he scrapped through that fight. He will never go to 168 so that means he can take what Canelo offers him or he can come to London and fight Eubank for $3.5 million at the O2. Those are his options past Saunders.
>>

>>74836592

>ducked Ward
a guy who couldn't even make 168 and was never serious about fighting anyone but Paul Smith
>ducked Froch
Froch didn't want any. He already had that nose job scouted for his tv job.

Don't expect this fight to ever happen if GBP are gonna offer him a flat fee. Its just not happening.

>>
>>74836853

Not massively different. Pump, lower bodyfat and lighting in the first one.
>>
>>74836920
You know that you don't keep that much muscle naturally if you go down to the bodyfat percentage he is at in the first pic right? Especially at 198cm.
>>
>>74836970

He probably has used steroids and growth hormone before but if he weighed 240 in that pic at 6'6 it wouldn't be impossible. If they're both natty for this fight I think it'll hurt Klitschko more at 41.
>>

>>74836869
>>74836891

>>
>>74837038
Steroids increase the amount of muscle you can have permanently, and they make it easier to gain muscle back even if you stop taking steroids (of course less than if you were taking steroids), so neither of them is natty.

And can'y they just cycle on for the fight?

Too much muscle mass isn't good for boxing though, you need endurance for 12 rounds. No VADA testing is strict.

>>
>>74838273
shouldn't but I'm glad he is, if he wasn't ducked he'd be top 10.
>>
>>74839411

If he'd beat Frampton at Super Bantamweight it would have been a good win but I don't think that's enough to solidify him as a top P4P fighter. He could of moved up in weight but hasn't, if he had fought Lomachenko I would of fancied Lomachenko.

>>
>>74841244
It's obvious Team Canelo ducked him, doesnt matter if it was Oscar or Saul, but it was a duck. That being said Golovkin does decent numbers for a guy from an unknown country. not Canelo, Cotto, Pac numbers.... but better than Andre Ward, an American champ.

I dont know the exact details of the offer, but if there isnt a ppv split, its a BS offer. if Danny Jacobs and Amir Kahn can get PPV Splits and they arent major draws for ppv, Golovkin can get a fair share.....which would be 30 percent in my opinion
>>

Canelo has nowhere to go himself. People are tired of the blown up lw's and ww's and the english bum tuneups. He's out of options after this Chavez fight. So they gotta make a deal or his stock is gonna tank too.

Whichever one has the deadline first, if they can't do both by the deadline they have to drop a belt. It's usually easy enough to do when you have 2 since the bodies (aside from the IBF) will be understanding about giving you a bit of leeway. It's much harder if you have 3 and almost impossible if you have 4, which is why as soon as anyone becomes undisputed champion they move up or drop a belt.

Yes. The real question is if Spence can handle being hit by someone at Brook's level. who's the hardest puncher at 147?

What's with this pussy De La Hoya not wanting Golovkin to fight in June if he won't make the the fight in September. It's obvious that they're trying to keep Golovkin inactive and stop him from becoming undisputed champ
>>
>>74855437
Well, Spence's chin is something of an unknown quantity but he's certainly very hittable, that much is clear from his more recent fights.Brook has good power and he's extremely accurate, if Spence's chin isn't iron and Brook keeps landing like he did with GGG, it won't last long.
>>
>>74815179
It's actually on Spike, not Channel 5.
>>
>>74855710
I can see his point somehow - because you only have 3 months of promotion if he is to fight Canelo and that's excluding potential cuts/injuries he could get in that fight.
>>
>>74855572
It's hard to tell between Brook, Spence and Thurman.I think the latter has proven that he's not quite the puncher many had anticipated when he was coming up through the ranks, at least not at the highest level.Pacquiao is obviously dangerous too but these days maybe lacks the killer instinct he once had to finish off opponents.
>>
>>74855735

Not a good sign for boxing on Channel 5 that they've relegated it to Spike

http://www.latimes.com/sports/boxing/la-sp-de-la-hoya-canelo-golovkin-20170324-story.html

So basically De La Hoya paid Jacobs to miss weight so no title on the line so PPV numbers were low so he could lower the amount GGG would get so he would have no choice but to decline and Alvarez wouldn't have to duck him

Right?
>>

>>

The WBC and WBA title were on the line, the PPV bombing has nothing to do with the IBF title not being defended. Oscar is now saying he'll tie Golovkin's pay offer to the PPV buys i.e. if it comes in low that's all he deserves.

Don't think it'll happen this year. They're going to do the Saunders fight and Oscar said he can't fight in June if they're going to do it in September because they want to start promotion after Chavez. Froch is a one dimensional fighter who wins through attrition. A lot of boxers learned to fight, a great fighter knew how to box before he ever walked into a gym.

There's a difference between an athlete learning to fight, and a fighter learning to be an athlete.

Think of Miley Cyrus, she's not an artist, but she's learned to act like one, but she'll never be a true musician and artist.

There's literally nobody that can beat AJ now desu
>>
Crolla ring walk time?
>>
Hughes definitely has at least six rounds in the bank here
>>
>>74878350
Wilder can (good puncher's chance), Klitschko too. But yeah, Heavyweight is in absolute shambles. If anyone thought the Klitschko era was bad prepare for the one we're about to witness. Unless Fury comes back and makes this entertaining.

I might actually cry when Michael Buffer dies. He's such an enduring icon. Fuck Jimmy Lennon Jr. He didn't even create "It's Showtime", Michael Buffer did.
>>
>>74878350
T Fury would. Think he would beat Wilder, Parker would give him a hard night. He's a hype job with power. Whyte nearly exposed him, and if Klitchsko can produce anywhere near his old self, he'll be exposed again.
>>
>>74878519

no chance, he's fat as fuck. In half a year or a year for sure.
>>

He's dead, whatever Ty comes back will never be the same person, that guy is dead.
>>
>>74878612

Bruno has more charisma and personality in his little finger than AJ has.

>"Yeah the Lonsdale belt is very prestigious... I've got one at home".

Fucking Froch can't help himself can he? Probably won it in front of 80,000 Cobramaniacs at Wembley Stadium, the absolute cunt.
>>
Got a feeling Crolla is going to try and get the early KO but it might be his undoing
>>
>>74878350

Ortiz, Pulev, Povetkin just off the top of my head.

buffers a self important gimmicky cuck faggot. its not even an original line. fag probably stole and trademarked like the shyster he is.

Lupe Contreras is the most macho
>>

Wilder is a windmill-throwing bum

>>74878848
He has to try something different cos he won't win if it goes the distance.

I like him cos he fucks up so many predictions and then I know who to bet on.

>>74878887
>he won't win if it goes the distance.

He won't win the fight but he might well get the decision anyway. Been some pretty bad ones in UK boxing lately.

Anyone rinsing Froch is based mate.

I can overlook his bumbling hosting skills and awful predicitions after that.

Neutral judges this time, Crolla needs an early stoppage.

I don't dislike him, he's just an easy target for bants. Lighten up mate.

Maybe not an outright robbery, but if Linares doesn't clearly win by 3 or more rounds expect Crolla to get the decision Tbh. If you don't belueve that
