I think going for a whole new engine was risky... this is the worst possible outcome... But it had to be done, they needed to change the engine concept. I think they will have time before Australia to iron it all out. Unlike 2015, where they had to submit the final specs, before they had a chance to really test the engine because of all the problems. I think if they get to Australia with a shit design they will come back quickly with a better one and by Spain they will be ok again...

They will win every championship until 2020 then drop out of the sport claiming it is no longer a challenge and they achieved what they want to. Mercedes has suggested several times that their F1 outing is not a permanent thing and they will stop taking part in the future once they achieve what they have set out to do (which they likely already have).

>>
>>74418900
>>74418972

What is McLaren going to do though? They aren't getting Mercedes power again. I would be astounded if they got Ferrari power just because its such a massive conflict. Their only option would be Renault and that is entirely dependant on Renault actually wanting to supply them. The Renault works team (and maybe Toro Rosso, maybe even Red Bull) clearly have a lot to gain from having an unusually weak McLaren, so you can see why they would not want to supply them.

I think Ron "The engine is a piece of jewelry" Dennis might have fucked his team up much more than anyone really anticipated.

You seem to forget that it was a MCLAREN chassis that propelled Jenson Button to first place in the legendary 2011 Canadian GP, the single most exciting and challenging race in Formula 1 history. Said performance established Button as the undeniable F1 GOAT (anyone who says otherwise is clearly biased against Brits) and will never be matched by any driver past, present, and future.

It's not unheard of to win as a customer team, but I do get his point.

V8s were dead simple compared with these V6H, and customer teams aren't allowed to use all the engine modes that the factory team can use (ask Williams)

That's because they became Mercedes after 2009.

Also you said, customer team to win. It doesn't matter who they won against, they won with a bought enigne.
>>
>>74419283

The difference being that the engines are specifically designed for the works team cars/chassis etc so it integrates perfectly. It is also developed solely with the works team's input and requests in mind. The other teams simply just have to make due with the engine.

The Engines are technically the exact same (although the works team generally gets upgrades first) but the engine was only designed for one car specifically.

THere was some article about Mercedes restricting the software or source code or some shit of their engines, essentially meaning the software side of the engine is much better with the works team than the customers

>Hamilton: I tried to drive a bit behind the others. And overtaking will certainly not be very easy. I expected it though. The tyres are way too hard, so we can drive longer, which means that we will have many 1 stop races. And as the tyres are not degrading much the drivers will also do less mistakes. So the sport wont be better.

I don't know what people were expecting, desu. It's either fast cars, durable tires that can be pushed and few overtakes OR slow cars, "remember to save your tires, pls save your tires" from lap 1 and overtaking fest

>>
>>74419534
It's not really that much the overtaking that makes the sport interesting, but the competition between two or three different teams for the championship, because then you've got different cars with different specifications, which means that some tracks give advatage to one of the teams and others are hard to drive on. So it becomes a question of reliability and how much can you squeeze out of the races which wouldn't normally go that well for you.

It had something that made your tire degradation faster for the entire race if you started it in softer tyre compounds, so people starting from 10 and after in the grid had an advantage because their deg wasn't as harsh as the first 10.
Whether this was intentional or not beats me.

what's the fia supposed to do to get rid of fins, tho? regulate the shid out of the airbox dimensions so that they can't have anything sticking off? I mean, look at this crap already:

>3.15 Upper bodywork :

>3.15.1 With the exception of the opening described in Article 3.15.3, when viewed from the side, the
car must have bodywork in the area bounded by four lines. One vertical 1330mm forward of
the rear wheel centre line, one horizontal 550mm above the reference plane, one horizontal
925mm above the reference plane and one diagonal which intersects the 925mm horizontal at
a point 1000mm forward of the rear wheel centre line and the 550mm horizontal at a point
lying 50mm forward of the rear wheel centre line.
>Bodywork within this area must be arranged symmetrically about the car centre line and,
when measured 200mm vertically below the diagonal boundary line, must have minimum
widths of 150mm and 50mm respectively at points lying 1000mm and 50mm forward of the
rear wheel centre line. This bodywork must lie on or outside the boundary defined by a linear
taper between these minimum widths.

>3.15.2 Bodywork lying vertically above the upper boundary as defined in 3.15.1 may be no wider
than 125mm and must be arranged symmetrically about the car centre line.

>3.15.3 In order that a car may be lifted quickly in the event of it stopping on the circuit, the principal
rollover structure must incorporate a clearly visible unobstructed opening designed to permit
a strap, whose section measures 60mm x 30mm, to pass through it.

looking at the tech regs it's sorta tricky to visualize without the boxes they describe but I think that's the pertinent section

It went to 720p towards the end of the Hungary GP replay, just before the rebroadcasts of the Paddock Uncut segments and Ted's Notebook, and switched back at the end of them. Had no clue Acestream was capable of that but I guess it'll go like that for stuff that isn't century old replays (race/quali/practice sessions, pre-/post-sessions, etc etc).

Daryl would always sperg out in his sekret subplebbit about people capping his stream, then uploading it to torrent sites with his logo on it, saying it "risked the stream being taken down".
>ie him getting caught

Even his fanbois would suggest to just use a black box, or generic logo to cover his Sky ID.
But Daryl's ego and e-fame were more important to him than not getting caught.

What do you mean Netherlands?

If you are referring to the ability to bare children, well her older sister had a child at her age so maybe not.
Modelling is a serious job and Jessica takes herself very seriously. She probably just doesn't want to be tied down with kids.

If she does end up with kids I imagine she will follow her older sister and have two kids to unknown fathers.
She can easily support their lives when she is ready.

Her nephews are pretty qt although I can't shake the feeling Hugo older one) has had dear auntie Jess take care of his 'personal' needs.

I recon it takes more for a Russian to deem something cringeworthy.
>>
>>74428453
He drove back unless he has crashed again since his spin
>>
>>74428439
the teams were having cringeworthy ""bants"" on twitter yesterday morning. It was about coffee breaks, and who would make the coffee..
>>
>>74428465
Close enough?
I think not.
>>
>>74428468
maybe not cringeworthy enough. It was incredibly lame though

Where is that other live feed site, it had times set but also showed who was in the pit.

> It's interesting that Hamilton has produced the fastest time of the day so far at the start of a long run on soft tyres, and it gives us a potential insight into what the Mercedes could be capable with on low fuel. If he did that 1m21.7s with around 80kg of fuel on board that would be worth around 2.4 seconds - so a 21.7s becomes a 19.3s. If he had a race-starting fuel load of closer to 100kg then the potential lap time could be even faster. It's unlikely Mercedes would do a long run like this on a much lower fuel load, as teams need to learn about the tyres when they are under the most stress, and that comes early in a race when the cars are heavy.

Reminds me of the Toto bit too, about Rosberg.

> perhaps he.. didn't belong in the F1 world? He was not really a racer.
Toto wanted to strangle that stupid fuck.
>>
>>74428547
Its times like that that make you understand why he is banned from every teams hospitality unit and pit.
They just can't be fucked dealing with his shit.

Yes, it's just a hole through and through, nothing more. With some stalks in it to comply with the cross section rules.

>The wind is really picking up on the start/finish straight. The cover over Red Bull's pit wall is working overtime to stay attached, while pit board pieces are falling over if left unattended. The 11 (yes, 11!) #GoMax banners attached to the main grandstand are hanging on for dear life, too.

It was ISI Dev's whom claimed its impossible to fully implement a tire model in any sim/game, one would need a super computer to get that going.
its always a mix between live physics, placeholder coding, educated guesswork and the goal a developer has.
so with RF2 the goal would be a much more technical way then say AC is (to an extend) worried about how people would perceive handling.

but there's no 100% accurate physics by anyone.
