Cutler - Niners, Jets, Bills
teams that want a QB that can win games but arent serious about making the playoffs

Romo - Texans, Broncos, Jags
teams that are willing to sell their souls into cap space hell for a 3 year window to get an owl

Texans cant do it with brocks contract Im pretty sure but why isnt Elway going all out to get Romo?
he loves washed up gun slingers with injury history and building teams to make up for their weaknesses

jets are so far gone I dont even know what pieces they have anymore besides the D line. but Cutler would immediately make them twice as potent on offense and give some hope.

Broncos problem isn't QB, the main one is the O-line. Putting a 37 year old with an extensive injury history behind a bottom 5 line in a division with Houston, Bosa, Ingram and Mack is asking for it.

you think anyone will really fall for jimmy the wop? I mean a 1st for him? I wouldnt even give up a 2nd.

I'm really liking Mahomes more and more the more tape I watch. Then again klifbabby. but he's a gunslinger and if he goes somewhere that can develop confidence and has the luxury of developing him behind a franchise guy (rivers, big ben, eli, carson, etc.) he could be a lethal QB. depends more on talent than actual reading defenses but that can be learned. still no clue on davis webb.

Cassel, Hoyer, and Mallet should all be lessons learned in fools gold.
>>
>>74336643

Second is possible if they send over another player.

No one is paying more than was paid for Matt Cassell for him though.

Which is weird, they should have traded him with Collins and that would have gotten a first.
>>
>>74336643
Bradford netted a 1st and a 4th.

The Patriots won't even pick up the phone without a 1st rounder on the table.
>>
>>74336643
Hoyer was actually good for the browns, he was under a good team and had a solid coach, everywhere else was a mistake
>>
>>74336643
>>74336699

Mahomes is all athletic ability, he can kinda read defenses his real problem is reacting to it.

I dont think i saw him call a good audible last year. He called a bunch out of running plays and called horrible passing plays instead.

So he can read the defense, he cant really react to it though. Which is also a problem, but not as big a problem as never reading them to begin with.

Cassel was better for the Chiefs than the Patriot, though this doesn't fit Brady haters' agenda, so they pretend it didn't happen. Cassel took them from 2-14 to the playoffs, made the pro bowl before they let him get killed with that flimsy oline.

Cassel was also a backup in college, a 7th round pick, Hoyer was undrafted. Mallett was a third rounder, but didn't show much upside.

You can't compare those three to Garoppolo.

Why do people use Hoyer and Mallet in those comparisons? They got no serious action for the Patriots and the only reason for trading for them was "they trained under Brady so they must be good".

Garoppolo played in 1,5 NFL games.

Mallet threw like 3 passes in his entire Patriots career and all Hoyer got was garbage time snaps and kneeldowns.

And Cassel was actually good for the Chiefs for the first 2 years.

because we have a horrible GM that is unable to draft offense. no RT, RG, 2 decent WR's, no RB's besides an 18 million dollar weight around our neck, and an overpaid LT that is in the bottom 20% of starters if that.

There are still people ass ravaged by the Cowboys?

Like, what do you have to hate about them with the best young runningback in a decade and the greatest rookie season by a quarter back ever, breaking Tom Brady and Big Ben's rookie wins and pass attempts without a INT record, and the highest comp% ever by a rookie?

Like you're mad they have a bright future? I mean how bitter and jealous can you be?

I'm pretty sure Jamaal Charles and stronger defenses are what made them a playoff team

>The Redskins have yet to address local radio personality Chris Cooley's recent suggestion that GM Scot McCloughan has been drinking again.

>The annual dysfunction that plagued Washington for decades before McCloughan's hiring has resurfaced, most publicly when Cooley -- who works for the Redskins and Dan Snyder's radio station -- suggested McCloughan has resumed drinking after alcoholism led to his ousters in San Francisco and Seattle. Per the Washington Post's Jerry Brewer, McCloughan's power in the organization was always less than perceived, and team president Bruce Allen has far more say. "Even during good times," Brewer wrote, "Allen hasn’t liked that McCloughan is cast as a savior changing the culture of the organization and erasing the many mistakes of the past." McCloughan was not allowed to hire his own scouting staff and has been prohibited from speaking to the media. And at some point in the near future, it wouldn't be surprising if McCloughan were pushed out the door.
>>

With this logic, there isn't a single non-bandwagon Patriots fan. They literally chose that team because it's their local team, jumping on a bandwagon is simply choosing a team, becoming an actual fan is something you've personally got involved with.

bandwagoner = someone without a damn good reason to follow a team.
fairweather = someone who only follows a team when they are most relevant. may be a bandwagoner or not.
actual fan = someone who will follow a team more or less throughout the year and for the rest of their life. bandwagoners can become an actual fan.
ideal fan = is not a bandwagoner or fairweather and is an actual fan.
>>

I honestly expect that too. Really, I'd be fine if we go like 8-8 because next years draft class is gonna be great with QBs.

I'll miss Eli, but even I see his arm is dying. I'd be shocked if he wasn't hiding an injury.

Desean is definetly going to the highest bidder.

Garcon is probably not gonna attract much interest and the 'skins will pay him enough to stay.

Kirk not being a Redskin is a complete front office meltdown scenario. He's the best they had in years and saying, "they're good" without him says that they could do better. They cannot do better right now and any attempt is a massive, massive risk. He even fucking said he will play under a $24M franchise tag if need be.

Eagles tried doing that in 2011 with Steve Smith (the other Steve Smith), Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Evan Mathis, Nnamdi Asomugha, etc.

They went 8-8 after being projected to go 15-2.

>He even fucking said he will play under a $24M franchise tag if need be.

Well, the alternative to that would be to sit out a year, miss out on the money and decrease his value.

That probably works more in the Redskins favor than his.

Because the Redskins want to keep him but they don't want to pay him the market rate for quarterbacks after Brock Osweiler broke the market and the Texans.
>>
>>74343850
Kirk is going to cost a lot more next year barring a total shitshow 2017 performance. It be much cheaper to sign him long term now. Their hesitation to sign him or even tag him means they STILL have some doubts or think they can do better.

Redskins are showing signs of an imminent dumpster fire but this could all go away the first hour of free agency.

>>
>>74344024

There are at least 5 teams that will bring the house if Kirk is deemed a free agent. He's not gonna sit on the couch for 2017
>>
>>74344098
>There are at least 5 teams that will bring the house if Kirk is deemed a free agent.

But if he gets the tag, he has to play under the tag. Unless either the Redskins negotiate a contract with him before the tag gets locked in or some team feels comfortable giving up 2 first rounders for him.

Once he's locked into the tag, his options are either to play under it or sit out the season.
>>

Fucking redskins can you be competent for once in the last 20 years and resign cousins, and not do some stupid shit like signing tony romo.
>>
>>74348703
the problem the redskins have is that they franchised cousins last year instead of signing him then, and now he's coming off another 4k season in a weak QB free agent class

they didn't want to commit to him fully last season and now it's going to cost them a fuckton of money, at a point where they are also losing two of their top WRs and still have a very bad defense. you can even make the argument that it would be better to let cousins walk and use the money that saves to start rebuilding the defense
>>
Pre-Combine/FA Chorgers 2017 Draft: White WR Edition:

Round 1 Pick 12 (CLE): Malik Hooker, FS/SS, Ohio State (A+)
Round 2 Pick 1 (CLE): Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama (A-)
Round 2 Pick 6: Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson (A-)
Round 3 Pick 7: Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Washington (A+)
Round 4 Pick 6: Ryan Glasgow, DT, Michigan (A-)
Round 5 Pick 7: Hunter Dimick, DE, Utah (A-)
Round 6 Pick 6: Marquez White, CB, Florida State (A)

20+ mil guaranteed for 1 year is life changing money. I'd do that in a heartbeat if I was him. Then become a journeyman QB or get a challenge like becoming the Browns QB
>>
>>74348783
YOU LIKE THAT
>>
>>74348783
that's what happens when you give an above average QB in a contract year an extremely good receiving corps and tell him to throw the ball 37 times a game

it may feel counter-intuitive to let go of cousins after the seasons he's had, but there is a very real chance that he's going to get about $20-22 million, and i'm not sure that the redskins can compete with a contract like that.
>>
>>74348749
Yeah it's not his fault but ideally they should have gotten a deal done last year instead of franchising him only to have him put up nearly 5,000 passing yards, if they do resign him that's going to cost them in the long run.

I'd argue that our defense is middle of the road even though they really underpreformed, hiring Joe" 0-16" Barry was an mind boggling stupid move and I'm hoping the new defensive coordinator will do a better job. I heard about Jackson leaving, is Garcon gone as well?
>>
>>74348814
>for 1 year because of the franchise tag?
No, for years because of some teams' desperation. Luck's contract is #1 and it averages at about $24,5m a year. I could see someone offering close to that.
>>
>>74348783
I think Carr will become the new # 1 since he's younger and the raiders still have the cap to pay him now rather than later
>>
>>74348847
I'd say he's worth $20-$21m. That's a pretty standard contract for an above average QB
>>
>>74336305
>1 (one) owl win
>>
>>74336305
there are only 7 active starting qbs to have won an owl and 4 of them will probably retire within the next 3 years

Wilson is the only one of the 7 to be under 30, so he's doing pretty well for himself.
>>
>>74348855
redskins defense just has so many holes desu, there are good players in the unit but their impact is lessening when there are weak spots that an offense can exploit.

hypothetically you should be able to resign one of garçon and djax, but if you're committing upwards of 20 million to cousins and resigning garcon and a couple other guys you have pretty much no room to improve the other parts of your team and have to bet on the draft. it's a really awful scenario for the team
>>
>>74348954
i agree with this, but like rapelisberger, he rode a fantastic defense. if rivers or romo had been on that team, they would have also won. definitely not calling wilson a dilfer, but I don't think he can carry a shit team. hes definitely in my top 10, but closer to 10

He had an incredible MVP season and sitting there 28-3 I think everybody watching and probably at the game was thinking ‘Atlanta is gonna get their ring sized up here pretty soon.’ So that was disappointing. “From a fan’s perspective, what a great game to watch and to see Tom in his greatness on display one more time. I mean, he didn’t need to win that to prove that he’s the G.O.A.T., but just another part of his legacy there.”

Brady, Rodgers, Ryan, Brees, Luck, Wilson, Carr, Stafford, Cousins

All easily better than Roethlisberger this season, especially considering that Ben has the luxury of playing with a top 3 O-line, a top 2 WR and the best RB in the league.
>>
>>74354096
Rivers/Lynch + that 13 Defense would have 18-0'd
>>
>>74354003
Bradford's stock had gone down a lot before he was traded though, Glass knees is a big concern.

in such a garbage qb class grop can definitely fetch a 1. He always had a high upside skill set.

It only takes one team to bite.
>>
>>74354121
>Cousins
threw 4 less touchdowns than Ben despite attempting 100 more passes

leaving him aside, you only named 9 players lol. so you're conceding that ben is top 10?

I said borderline. I'm still on the fence about how legit is Dak.

Cousins vs Ben
>67% vs 64,4% completion
>25 vs 29 TDs
>1,98% vs 2,55% INT%
>307 vs 273 yards per game
>8,11 vs 7,50 yards per attempt
>97 vs 95 passer rating
Cousins was better in every single statistical category other than TDs thrown and did it with a worse supporting cast.

my sides, you talk about "muh supporting cast" and then throw dak in there? just stop.

anyway, cousins had jordan reed, pierre garcon, jamison crowder, desean jackson, and a solid as fuck o-line with a top 2 OT in the league in trent williams. ben's running game was obviously better, but let's not pretend cousins is strapped for help on offense.

ben didn't have a great year, but 29 TDs and 13 INTs is nothing to sniff at in reduced playing time, and you're delusional if you think there are 10 better QBs in the league.

Redskins have a better tackle, more depth at WR and a better TE. Pittsburgh is much better everywhere else.

>ben didn't have a great year, but 29 TDs and 13 INTs is nothing to sniff at in reduced playing time, and you're delusional if you think there are 10 better QBs in the league.
There are 9 that were clearly better and some that are close. I'd probably put him at 10.
>>
>>74354003
Bradford went for a first because Minnesota was desperate.

San Francisco
Denver
Cleveland
Houston
Buffalo; Tyrod is probably going to leave
New York Jets have an excess of nothing at the QB position
Chicago is done with Cutler
the QB class for the draft is uninspiring

lot of teams dissatisfied with current QB play or getting new coaches/GMs/both.

Factor in New England is willing to keep Jimmy if they don't get a deal they like.

If Jimmy leaves, its going to be a for a first.

plus Cleveland is fucking dumb. I can see New England getting the overall 12th pick. Probably use it on Jabril Peppers. Bill loves him versatility.

>>
>>74354506

I'd say Big Ben is a better pocket passer than he used to be, he's just more injury prone now and can't scramble as well. His Game has changed.

Hes also had to carry the steelers a lot more than he did in the past. I think he's aged much better than Eli and Rivers. Mainly because those two don't have the same natural arm strength than Ben does.

6-10 will be a successful season for the 49ers.

And if they do everything right, they'll be 8-8 the year after that.

And if things are still looking up we can finally think about going 10-6 and maybe the playoffs.

That's why they shouldn't be in any rush to get a quarterback if they aren't absolutely in love with him.
