I've been told by the television that the English Premier League is the world's best football. Am I being lied to?
Kind of. There is a lot of individual quality in the EPL but at the same time this is also their biggest problem, because a lot of teams rely on individual quality most of the time. When you take the league as a whole, they're years behind when it comes to collective pressing (BuLi) and possesion play (LaLiga). Watching EPL matches reminds me of a bunch of headless chicken running after the ball.
the bundes is an entertaining race for 2nd place desu
but seriously we may be entering a golden age of parity in english football right now
Weird how three bunches of headless chickens running after the ball qualified from the champions league groups whereas only two great collective pressing teams qualified.
Or maybe your just spouting biased bullshit.
Some kraut who plays for Burnley (second tier) was interviewed last week. He said the PL has much greater depth than spain and germany, but the very top of those two is better.
He claimed that the top eight in the Championship could get into the Bundesliga and stay there.
Barça and Bayern would steamroll any league in the world, not just theirs. They are that good, giving the impression that other teams are bad.
>b-but muh money
manchester united spends as much as barcelona on salary, city spends as much as bayern, but their squads are vastly inferior because the clubs are owned by retards. Money doesn't mean shit.
The headless chicken metaphor was a unfortunate choice of words. As I said there are a lot of skillfull players in the EPL but the team are not as good as they should be considering all the money they have, so it's more like watching someone driving a Porsche in the 1st gear only.
Every foreigner says that about every league they play in. No matter of they're a coach or player.
>"Well yeah, I didn't expect the level of football to be this high. Most teams of this league well would give most teams of 'leagueXYZ' a real run for their money."
Heard this a thousand times already.
The top 8 of the championship is pretty much the same as the bottom 5 of the Premier League 2bh, the championship is incredibly competitive.
It's more of a matter of low PL clubs vs low Bundesliga clubs. If PL clubs have better quality at the bottom then it would be true that the top cohort of the championship could get there.
I can genuinely not understand why someone would find the Bundesliga or La Liga entertaining if they supported a team other than Bayern, Real or Barcelona.
In England you have a domestic league that's actually competitive and a domestic cup that's actually worth winning. Spain and Germany simply dont have that.
>The top 8 of the championship is pretty much the same as the bottom 5 of the Premier League 2bh, the championship is incredibly competitive.
I could say the same about the BuLi and the 2nd BuLi
They're bandwagoners m8.
When it comes to international tournaments they'll change their "heritage" or cherrypick it in order to pick the winners. You only ever see Americans supporting big clubs and usually oil shit that no one likes in their home country.
You will unironically see Americans say they only watch Lel Liga because it's the "best" league even though watching the non-top 3 play is torturous and slow.
No PL team is anywhere near the level of Barca or Bayern. Or even Real.
But their leagues are basically just playgrounds for these teams to piss all over while they wait for CL matches. It's not entertaining to watch them turnover Literally Who FC 6-0 every week while the rest just make up the numbers and fight for scraps.
The PL though is like a soap opera. The drama of the league keeps you coming back every week. Anyone can beat anyone (apart from shitters like Villa or Sunderland) and there's always something to talk about. So while the level of play is lower than that of the top end of a few other leagues, on the whole it really is the best for entertainment if you're a neutral.
No. Bundesliga has the best football.
However, EPL has the biggest money, biggest hype, highest tempo of games and stiffest competition.
So stiff that they actually become tired and indifferent and then blow in UCL and UEL season after season.
But he specifically added this: 'I'm not just saying this, so if some butthurt kraut BIDF fag starts whining on /sp/, they are wrong and should fuck themselves'.
I didn't add his further comment, out of brevity and basic politeness.
>So stiff that they actually become tired and indifferent and then blow in UCL and UEL season after season.
This is true, not to mention international tournaments as well.
We really need to winter break but it's traditional peak time for football in England. It would be like Americans having no handegg on thanksgiving.
Of course we're bandwagoners, we don't have the same kind of history with the sport that Europe has.
We don't hate on people who try to watch our sports though because ultimately if you watch something and enjoy it who cares?
No of course not the clue is in the title we're the premier league keep watching us goy
