Would you rather your team be shit and miss the playoffs or have to suffer a brutally painful loss in the playoffs?
What are playoffs?
Your team is shit and just happened to make there way into the playoffs, you should have seen the lose coming.
After watching that Bengals game yesterday at a sports bar, I'm glad I'm a Brownie :^)
>tfw all the losers so far won their dvision
is this sum bad juju
Virtually never making the playoffs is bad, but the alternative definitely seems worse at the time.
I envy Texans fans this season.
shit and miss playoffs because at least marv would get fired
I'd rather a heart crushing loss. I'm a Steelers fan, and it looked for all the world they were going to lose that game. I was watching it with my grandma, and we were pretty crestfallen. But look at what happened after. It might be a rollercoaster, but you have to push all your chips on the table and try. You might be rewarded, you might not, but you at least feel something.
No question bro - live like a lion for a day etc.
Make the playoffs - every fucking time.
>painful loss in SCF last year
>team barely holding a playoff spot this year
WHY NOT BOTH
the benefit is really small things are blown out of proportion, like last year when we finished with a winning record I was so excited. If they can even make it into the playoffs I might cry
A brutal playoffs loss implies that you still at least made the playoffs. I would choose that any day of the week.
Playoffs this year? Who cares. Da Burrs will be better next year and win da Superb Owl.
The latter, and I did curse my television when I saw that shit and I have been buttbothered the past few hours. To balm my buttbothered booty, it does help that it happened right away in the wild card round and not later when we really could have built some hope (we know to temper our enthusiasm).
Now, a serious question to /sp/: much as I hate the result, there is a historical stats question here. Let's get the question very focused, in fact, near-identical to THE FINKLE HEARTBREAKER: when else did it ever happen in NFL playoff history that a team lost for want /of a single point/ on a wide FG within the final 1-2 minutes?
Playoff losses i can deal with.
If my team is going to lose in the championship game: owl, eries, etc., then it sucks so bad that i wish they had never made it.
You will think about them losing in the championship everyday of your life for years to come unless they actually go back and win eventually.
I'd still glad we made the playoffs. I think our loss was the easiest of the weekend to deal with; unlike the Vikings and the Bengals there's nothing to call bullshit over, and unlike the Texans we actually managed to hold the lead twice and had some good moments. Plus that turnover in the end showed the team survived the loss with it's spirit intact, which bodes well for next year. Even if getting closer means the losses hurt more, I'll always want my team to get as far as possible.
