Meeting is less of an issue, and I'm no chat sniper. The realest issue is going from making plans for another time to 'Hey, how're you? Wanna play today?' I have no problem hearing no, but I'm always worried about the amount of time before it becomes something said partner no longer cares about.

Not sure I can answer that fully, but my best partner and I have a bunch of side characters in our story plays and those sometimes get in on the sexual side of things too. On occasion, I also play technically multiple characters via splitting my slime girl into two.

For one-shot encounters, I'd say it's difficult to find because I wouldn't waste that much effort on someone I probably won't see again. Personally I feel it's like DM play in that it can be exhausting for the person putting themselves out, so it's only worth it with a partner you've known for a while and who won't poof or flake on you at the worst moments.

In a general sense I've been using FList for a couple years. It's best not to be shy, and most people don't update their away/looking status. Search the kink you're looking for, look at profiles and message people. Don't just say 'hi,' be honest and explain why you contacted them. People are there to fap after all.

I feel like you're kinda lacking hooks -- ways to approach the character and a scene with him, and just what sort of things to do with him. You've got your tragic backstory to set up a single dad, and then what? What's he doing on a Saturday night, such that someone might run into him (and fuck him)? I'm not getting that moment of "aha, here's an obvious angle of attack" -- "obvious" being the relevant part here, because without a clear direction (or multiple, just so long as they're clear), what you've got is a character who's good for anything, and being good for anything is good for nothing here. Unless you're always doing the spearfishing, and even then, there's fairly little to work with that would make a person say "yes, this character appeals to me because ____", unless all they're after is a general "young single dad" archetype, which is seriously vague.

Also you should probably explain Fave: Ageplay. It's a bit odd to see in the context of everything else -- and good explanations are always good hooks. No sexualizing the daughter (not that one should ever expect someone else to play their character's family, because that's fucking hard), so who are we sexualizing when it comes to Ageplay? Does this (or any of the other sexual stuff) tie into the photographer gig? If it doesn't, maybe it should, because that's a pretty solid hook right there -- if porn's taught me anything, it's that taking pictures of someone always leads to sex with them.

is there a general etiquette for posting ads in non-LFRP channels? i've joined a few pertaining to my character with my Looking status on in hopes i'd catch some interest. i see other people post ads, but a majority of it just folks chatting. it feels weird. if a channel allows ads i know it's fine by the rules, but it almost seems spammy.

To add to that, I'm fairly certain that the 'last online' thing on the front page only checks when the actual website is accessed, nothing chat related. So if you idle in f-chat for long enough without ever actually navigating back to the site, it won't know you're still active- at least I'm pretty sure that's how it works.
In f-chat it functions the same as a bookmark on that specific character, though marked as a friend.

Yeah, it's kinda dumb to make a profile specifically for someone but since you're already in that hole, you may as well get explicit approval. Plus if they know who you are (outside of "that weird blue that came sniffing around") they can examine your established tastes, behavior, and previous partners themselves to get familiar with you.

For me it's always established practice, regardless of character, to ask a lot of questions about my potential partners.

A huge amount of the stranger things that happen in ERP would be pretty darn unpleasant in reality, for any of a number of reasons, but when it's fantasy and you can just ignore the niggling little details, crazy shit can be hot.
