Now Drinking: Crafted/Cigar City's Criminal KLP (Key Lime Pie mead)
Sorry to the German guy from the last Drinking Thread for not responding back before the thread died.
Some good shit.
Listening to lamb of god atm im fuckin wasted
Now Drinking: Bier Brewing's Weizengoot
That and all the shots of crown ive been doin.
Just finished the last mad elf, this jovial stuffs pretty good too.
Sounds like a fun night. ha I'm guessing you probably live in Pennsylvania since you've got access to all that Troegs? I bought a 6pk of Nugget Nectar while in Baltimore a few years back and thought it was awful. Looked at the date on the bottle and it was like 10 months old or something crazy like that.
One more wouldn't hurt. Right?
heres me before
If u can try to get a few bottles from church brew works, theyre a local brewry in pittsburgh and all of their stuff is great. Drinking the far rigt one after i finish juvial. Not my pic btw too lazy
Word. I'm sure there's tons of Troegs I've never heard of that's pretty awesome. Yeah?
Do they have stuff at stores? Also, what are the best 2-3 best stores for beer?
I drive out from Indiana to Baltimore every year for a metal festival and I always stop in Columbus and another place or two on the way there & back. Been meaning to stop in Pittsburgh, but I always run out of time or I leave Baltimore too late in the morning.
I enjoyed every troegs ive had so far, favorites being either mad elf or troegenator (think thsts how u spell it) Sunshine pils is prob my fav seasonal. Only one ive never had was the once a year porter cause i can never find it and im too lazy to order online.
Not too sure about stores because Pa's alcohol laws are fucked. And desu now that i think of it idk if church brew even sells their shit online which might make it hard to get
Ah, I forgot I've had the Troegenator at the fest. An 8% Doppelbock during a 80 degree sunny day? Great idea. hahaha
So basically, if I stop in Pittsburgh, I should stop at Duffys?
Yup, Maryland Deathfest. Have you heard of many of the bands that'll be playing?
As a 1/326th Croatian, thank you.
Nah man duffs is just a local beer store. Honestly if u stop in pitt go to the southside to drink theres va bar every 5 feet.
Havent looked at the bands but will most likely be goin for the fuck of it.
Ah, ok. Would you then say it's one of the best beer stores there?
Now Drinking: Pilsner Urquell
Now Drinking: Three Floyds' Zombie Dust
Where's everyone at?
It's a 16oz. can. Over the last year or two, they've released their beer in 4pk cans that each had a different design on it. I believe it's because they've been in operation for so long.
The taste of metal isn't quite what I strife for, either.
And I know the arguments for can but properly storing glass bottles does the trick just as well.
Maybe I'm just being a traditionalist, but when you're outside and don't carry a glass around (I mean... I know people who do this, but then again I know strange people)... then yea. I'd rather drink straight from the bottle than straight from the can.
Well, if you drink it straight from the can, then yeah. You're going to get a metal taste. But, if you care about taste at all, you wouldn't be drinking straight from the bottle or can.
I mean, if you're going to age a beer, a bottle is the preferred method (cork and cage or at least a cork). Anyhow, anything in a green bottle is a bad move as those (along with clear bottles) are the worst at keeping out UV light, which is what causes skunkiness to occur.
I know what skunkiness is and how it occurs. But to be honest: drinking straight from the bottle is VERY common over here, so it should not be discarded as a reason to keep bottles over cans.
I probably drink more beer straight from the bottle than I do from a glass.
If you're drinking something to slam down (like some 'domestic'-esque beer) and straight from the vessel, then going from the bottle/can is fine and bottles would be the way to go. I understand that.
Finally. ha Been spending today alone. Not too bad, though. Yourself?
Hooked up with a grill but felt awful after cause I'm still not over my ex. I am on five days drinking in a row and feel as though I might be developing a full blown problem. Also
I got tripsquads, fuck yeah.
These drinks seriously go down like water, this could be dangerous
Perhaps go light on the drinking or at least space the drinks out so you don't get passed-out drunk. But, it's not like I'm in any place to say that as I haven't had a girlfriend in almost a decade.
Now Drinking: Tallgrass' 8-Bit
I'm glad to hear I put a smile on at least one person's face. I'm doing ok, just sitting here by myself and all. How about yourself?
Just for future reference, my name is Spencer.
Now Drinking: Hangar 24's Pugachev's Cobra (Imperial Stout with maple syrup aged in bourbon barrels)
This stuff is gooooood.
Malt liquor and old documentaries I watched as a child.
Haha, when you gotta ball on a budget, malt liquor is the way to go. This bar in the town where I went to school had neon sign that had the sign in pictured I really wanted.
Billy Dee was king haha. Was honestly kind of disappointed about Snoop Dogg replacing him as spokesperson; I don't think he did anything beyond a website promo and some posters.
Colt 45's decent but I wish I could find Schlitz Malt Liquor around here.
Was watching old docs on the Hindenburg and Titanic disasters, earlier.
Fuck yeah, that's motha fuckin' Lando.
Snoop should go do legal weed commercials with Willie Nelson, that's way more his style.
My go to cheap stuff is either MGD, or PBR (hipsters inflated the price).
If I go cheap, Hamms and High Life are the way to go. I do PBR only if I'm at a show and it's the only cheap/decent thing available.
Good to meet ya. So, what exactly is dabbing?
Now Drinking: New Glarus' Wisconsin Big Red
More than likely the last of the night. Hopefully this thread will last till tomorrow night. But, by the way things look, I doubt that'll happen.
>If you're drinking something to slam down (like some 'domestic'-esque beer) and straight from the vessel, then going from the bottle/can is fine and bottles would be the way to go. I understand that.
I drink domestic beers almost exclusively, haha.
But they're nothing to "slam down". They're just... pretty good beers.
I'm not. Remember how we talked about weizen the other day? You had a Weihenstephaner?
For a crate of Weihenstephaner (20x0.5l) or something of equal quality, I pay roughly 14€ at the supermarket, so... $16 probably? So 80 cents for half a liter?
And that's average priced beer, so cheap stuff just gets progressively worse and cheaper.
Holyyyyyy........ I mean... I get it, it's an import, but still. What the actual fuck.
The worst part about the US: Even the shit tier beer at the supermarket costs a ridiculous amount. When I went to highschool in the states and ended up at the inevitable "my parents are gone for the weekend" parties, the "chip in" amount was always ludicrous to me - and all I got for that boatload of money was fucking Bud Light. I hated it, but as a 16 year old there really was no other choice but to roll with it...
Gyms closed because of presidents day. Drinking a local Rhineland-Pfalz wine, playing the shit out of MGS V with Nevermind playing softly in the background
>Gyms closed because of presidents day. Drinking a local Rhineland-Pfalz wine
> presidents day
> local Rhineland-Pfalz wine
Also: either Rheinland-Pfalz or Rhineland-Palatinate, ffs.
Yeah, I suppose no one can truly complain about what beer there is when you're underage. But even still, if I was 16 and going into a party I know only has Bud Light, I'd give a hard pass on paying. Hopefully you were able to drink some better beer while you were still in the states.
Speaking of, not sure how it is for all the other better beer that is available there, but compared to Weihenstephaner price wise, a lot of craft beer here is a tad on the pricey side. For example, the average cost of a good 6pk and 22 oz. bottle is around $10-13 (9-11.65€).
I guess at least there's a huge amount of variety here in the States to choose from.
Now Drinking: Evil Twin's Bozo Beer (17.2% Imperial Stout w/ coffee)
This was too much. The acidity from the coffee (I believe that's it) made this off putting. However as each sip goes down, I do get a pretty nice coffee/chocolate taste for a short moment. If anyone somehow has a bottle of this in their fridge, sit on it for like a year.
got some Unruly Dark
Half-assed old fashioned, made with Dickel rye.
Currently on my third one.
Also, selfies are hard to take with a DSLR.
You could lay on your back, put the camera between your legs, and take multiple shots till it gets the focus right.
Pic related, but excuse my terrible drawing skills.
