Three Floyd's is a small-ish brewery out in the midwest is the main reason. They mostly do midwest/east coast shipping as far as I know. Also because there's already a lot of breweries down here so the market is competitive, which is a damn shame because they make something called Zombie Dust which is pretty darn tasty.

I WISH I had the stomach for alcohol. The taste alone puts me off and I've never liked the taste of beer, despite my efforts to like it.
I can't blame my being a lightweight due to my size because plenty of small girls can handle alcohol but I turn into a sobbing mess after a few double shots of tequila (the only alcohol I can take). I much prefer the reefer as my method of intoxication.

Mostly on BA though I have a relative out East who I trade with once in a while but now that Founder's is down here I figure I could just wait until Backwoods Bastard and their stouts become available next year/time. It just seems odd that they decided to mostly ship out their IPA/APA stuff down here first when there's already a bunch of larger breweries doing god-tier stuff. Still slightly salty that NorCal got their better stuff like KBS and Backwoods distributed immediately.

I agree with a lot of similar beers out here that are just-as-good/better than Zombie Dust. I just want to try it eventually. There's a (recently bought out) brewery down here called Saint Archer that makes one of the best double IPAs I've ever tasted. It's called Mosaic IPA and it's a staple in muh fridge. Their pale ale and standard IPAs are damn good too.

Saint Arnold is Texas only at the moment but their beer game is solid. They make good IPA/Double IPAs and their sour berlinerweisse beer is mouth puckeringly refreshing. Their normal macro-ish beer is called Fancy Lawnmower and it's pretty tasty too.

Rare-ish is like some of the Noble Ale Works Citra/Mosaic Showers stuff, most of Bottle Logic's stuff. Nothing like the Bruery's or Russian River stuff since everyone and their mother goes for that now, and the aforementioned breweries make amazing beer but they only ship within their own county now. That and not a lot of people clamor for it like PtE or Black Tuesday.

Now Drinking: Stone's Xocoveza Charred (3 month version)

Compared to the first batch (released back in July that was aged for 7 months in bourbon barrels), this is noticeably weaker. The body isn't as well-rounded, the peppers & cinnamon are more upfront, there isn't nearly as much of a milk chocolate or vanilla presence, and just an overall disappointment. I really don't know why Stone thought it was a good idea to release this after being aged for only 3 months as that's pretty much a waste of a good bourbon barrel.

Califonia prices. I imagine it's because they're in the state and booze is cheaper in general. Even cheaper if you have a Costco membership, they're really stepping up with the bigger craft stuff. Ballast Point stuff is still kind of expensive here though ($14 for a sixer of any Sculpin variant), even though one of their brewpubs is about 30 minutes from me.
