Is it a retarded idea to develop personal assistant AI's a la IBM's Watson to work in industrial/academic labs to aid researchers?
At the very least they could do some titrations or give on-the-spot info via voice recognition.

Back in the day when I was a researcher we subscribed to publication alerts (Inspec, I think it was). An assistant to keep searching for new and useful publications would be handy.
