Most of these artists especially when they're young do drugs which over time trashes their systems. In later years they open doors for sneak attacks like heart or organ failures. I'm not sure if he did too much alcohol but even a small substance might have triggered it and caused a failure because the organs are damaged way too much. Instantenous death without showing obvious symptoms is usually caused by prior drug abuse that left the organs defenseless.

It's all genetics coupled with your environment.

70 is nothin' if you have a degree of luck, and take care of your body properly. I've met many people in their late 80's, 90's, and early 100's that still get around properly and have more or less intact mental faculties. Of course, the senses themselves always go.

Women on my mother's side of the family all stay young both in functionality and appearance until their 80's or so. Great grandmother died recently at 101, probably not so coincidentally after getting a flu shot. My lifespan is probably ~60-70. who knows, something tells me I'm built to fall apart sooner than later.

It's all about remaining active and taking proper care of yourself. This nonsense about being all fucked up and incontinent in your 70's is a bunch of horseshit, it's other factors being confused for aging.
