Hi /sci/
I need some examples of use of math in STEM that is fun and interesting (to high school kids).
I'm really struggling here as I can ream off shit loads of areas where math is vital and show them all sorts of shit that's interesting to me, but from a high schooler's point of view would probably bore them to death.
Any ideas /sci/.. must be a few teachers on here?

Limits
But show them the examples in pasta differences

If you're going to go this route, how about you show them "maths in action", so take some idea and then show how it's used in STEM. That's really the only thing I can think of.

Thanks for the suggestions so far!!
Just generally gathering ideas at the minute.
I'm in EE so something electrical orientated would be great.
At the minute I'm thinking of demonstrating electrical faults etc. since it includes shit blowing up but also some fairly tasty math in terms of calculating fault currents, voltages etc.
rip off numberphile videos T B H

What are high schoolers interested in? Probably fucking.
You should give them a statistics example that would increase there probability to fuck.

pretty standard calculations for sniping people always gets attention. get to bring in some interesting stuff like humidity, gravity, Coriolis effect, etc.
