So we can share cool stuff we are working on since there are a lot of areas of engineering.
>HIRO WE NEED 9000 BOARDS!!!
/sci/ is barely alive as is. If it wasn't for the academia shitposting this board would be dead.
No need to split it even further just make an "/eng/ - engineering general" thread or something.
academic shitposting and just shitposting in general is why /sci/ is not a slowly evolving collection of 149 interesting topics..
If I ran this board, I would have a hidden buffer of 50 threads, and I would delete the ever loving shit out of most of the crap that gets posted here, allowing keeper threads that got bumped to remain for people who actually belong on this board.
Things like copy-pasta, blatant trolls, fucking IQ threads, jacob barnett and other shit-tier memes, all of that, should be result in a deletion + ban (not everybody has a dynamic proxy, especially the fucking juveniles posting that shit)
>mfw PhD in an advanced materials science field, applied 3 times for janitor position, no response ever received
The Mod staff doesn't accept anyone with a technical qualifications because they don't have STEM degrees and don't want potential janitors to find that out.
You think I'm joking? Try applying by pretending to be retarded and hardworking next time.
Two conditions should be met before creating /eng/:
1) /sci/ should be active enough to justify splitting it up in smaller boards
2) there should already be a culture of /eng/-related threads here that would then start being posted in the new board instead
Neither of these conditions are met, so creating a new board makes no sense at all.
As suggested earlier, either use /diy/ for home-made projects or create an /eng/ general here (one thread is plenty enough considering the normal activity of this board).
nah /sci/ is absolutely chock full of popsci crap
splitting the crap doesn't solve the problem
I'm just glad I'm an EEE besides /g/ is a lot better and actually has people that know what they're doing
Fuck you Satan, you won't ruin my 4chan.

Top kek, yeah doctors and financiers just wanna make the world a better place and not just carve out a nice career for themselves and themselves only. Great post.
Vast majority of physics/Chem majors are pic related
