Ships can look like birds, clouds, and other objects. The sea can look like the sky. Both sea and sky are calming and both blend together making them ideal subjects for optical illusions.
for some reason I never liked these sorts of pictures, they always felt like a dumb gimmick more than anything that looked cool or made me feel something,
but maybe i'm just a douche

like, i'd rather just see a neat picture of that awesome cathedral hallway thing, not some dumb trick where it's also a city.

i actually got a lot better at writing thanks to this book (i read it on spanish)
its even my grandpa's favourite book, which gave him his crazy sense of humor
So for me, its a really important book, and it isn't even bad. It's just so interesting, the whole family stories thing is just such a great idea, like how the characters kinda keep evolving as the book goes on and how some of them die, its truly fascinating.
sorry if i wrote too much, or if i missunderstood your question. The point is, its a great read, it never gets boring, not even a bit. I think its my favourite book
these are not really optical illusions, but they're cool

Optical illusion

you want to know why you think they're cool?
Because they are inherently Divine.
