I just remembered something me and my brother used to do

>This was long before touchscreen phones and tablets, so parents had nothing to do
>9/10 times they would leave us after an hour and go home
We'd be at the park for hours, only leaving for bathroom breaks, sometimes we peed in the water.

What would they do if it wasn't for the moat. Would the hog the playground. Would they beat you up?
You need to flesh out your characters more. I feel no sense of victory reading your story because I don't see why the bad guys are bad.
