it was like if Bateman wasn't born into a rich family
"Life isn't easy for a group of high school kids growing up absurd in Japan's pervasive pop/cyber culture. As they negotiate teen badlands- school bullies, parents from another planet, lurid snapshots of sex and death- these everyday rebels without a cause seek sanctuary, even salvation, through pop star savior Lily Chou-Chou, embracing her sad, dreamy songs and sharing their fears and secrets in Lilyholic chat rooms. Immersed in the speed of everyday troubles, their lives inevitably climax in a fatal collision between real and virtual identities, a final logging-off from innocence."
Quints don't lie
You have been muted for 2 seconds
In the Mood for Love
"Set in Hong Kong, 1962, Chow Mo-Wan is a newspaper editor who moves into a new building with his wife. At the same time, Su Li-zhen, a beautiful secretary and her executive husband also move in to the crowded building. With their spouses often away, Chow and Li-zhen spend most of their time together as friends. They have everything in common from noodle shops to martial arts. Soon, they are shocked to discover that their spouses are having an affair. Hurt and angry, they find comfort in their growing friendship even as they resolve not to be like their unfaithful mates."
"A hitman who lives by the code of the samurai, works for the mafia and finds himself in their crosshairs when his recent job doesn't go according to plan. Now he must find a way to defend himself and his honor while retaining the code he lives by."
This shit is heartbreaking
Here's the short film too
Sandler's character might as well be a carbon copy of my sperglord brother. The way he just lashes out in autistic fits of rage is exactly what my brother does all the time, and they're both perfectly pleasant outside of these fits
For those robots who felt so much, that they can't feel anymore..
Days of Heaven
"Bill and Abby, a young couple who to the outside world pretend to be brother and sister are living and working in Chicago at the beginning of the century. They want to escape the poverty and hard labor of the city and travel south. Together with the girl Linda (who acts as the narrator in the movie) they find employment on a farm in the Texas panhandle. When the harvest is over the young, rich and handsome farmer invites them to stay because he has fallen in love with Abby. When Bill and Abby discover that the farmer is seriously ill and has only got a year left to live they decide that Abby will accept his wedding proposal in order to make some benefit out of the situation. When the expected death fails to come, jealousy and impatience are slowly setting in and accidents become eventually inevitable."
>guy as beta as possible post civil war
>constantly bullied by Chads
>his first born son even thinks he's a loser
>missing a leg
>ultimate Chad storms into his life
>Chad gets caught after he seduces a Stacy
>he attempts to transport this criminal to jail
>in the process Chad realizes the error of his ways and comes to respect this beta loser and so does the son
it's also a super comfy movie
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
The Art of Getting By
It's Kind of a Funny Story
Lost in Translation
Lars and the Real Girl
I have watched The Art of Getting By like 8 times now, I can lipsync a couple scenes already and when I hesitate about something I can hear Sally saying "YOU THINK TOO MUCH GEORGE" even though that's not my name.
I just saw the pic of a friend eating sushi with her bf. By the way she's talking on twitter and instagram I bet he proposed to her or something. We went out a few times during college, she was into me but I'm too autistic for human relationships of any kind and left her in the cold for 8 months by then she got mad at me and just moved on like all the other 2 girls I could have fucked in my life (yes still virgin).
>The Perks of Being a Wallflower
the fuck is wrong with you?
What's wrong with it? The main guy is fucked up in the head like two thirds of this board, he just got lucky he got friends.
I've had a bad high school so I watch all sorts of high school and early college movies.
The guy doesn't have any relationships. He can't into family either. He can't psychologically connect to any other human being.
Literally kills a girl who wanted to be a gf in order to continue being operator as fuck
I recommend this every chance i get. i'm recommending it again. its my favorite film because i want to be like the main character, even though it is completely deplorable.
>humiliated his whole life
>gets cucked and humiliated some more
>goes off the deep and does what he thinks is right
>everyone else thinks he's crazy
>doesn't get the girl in the end
I've watched it.
>500 Days of Selective-Orbiting
Don't remember me of that shit. I think it's the only movie that got me as angry as Into the Wild.
You didn't say what's wrong with perks of being a wallflower.
Crumb is a robot from a different era. I highly recommend this documentary.
Yeah Into the Wild was "Chad cucks up his life: The Movie"
Anyway, Perks of Being a Wallflower is ridiculous because it isn't an authentic novel and instead panders to its demographic. It takes wishy-washy teen melodrama you'd find on tumblr and ascends it to a new level so that angsty teenyboppers can look at it and say "OHMAIGAWSH THIS IS SOooo my life!"
Between the book and the movie it handles: teen suicide, gay romance, bullying, autism, having a gf you don't want to date, drugs, molestation, obsession with pretentious entry-tier things like the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and- wtf?
What adolescent goes through every single one of those problems? It's incredibly contrived. It should've focused on fewer of those topics and given them more weight.
What adds injury to this is that most normies I know love this book. I find The Catcher in the Rye to be an interesting antithesis to Perks because most normies I know find The Catcher in the Rye reprehensible, to the point where they will vehemently attack it and its main character. The Catcher in the Rye presents a robot while Perks just presents a your average tumblrite in a boy's body. One is agreeable to normies, the other isn't.
to add to what others have listed
Gloria (2013 chilean film) about a woman but I still think it fits
Amour (2012 michael haneke film)
I'm assuming we're just going for depressing films about loneliness and futility here, not specifically about robots AS our particular social class of losers...
Shitty movie, but I understand where you're coming from. It's shit because they introduce someone else who can move when he freezes time, but they never pursue that train of thought. But it's more normie because he just draws women instead of raping them. Like wtf? At least pork one of them.
My Own Private Idaho
"Mike Waters lives on the street and befriends the somewhat older and streetwise Scott Favor who shows him what is necessary to survive. Waters suffers from narcolepsy and can fall asleep at any moment and in almost any circumstance. Favor comes from a rich family and is rebelling against his own background. They travel together extensively - Waters is driven by the need to find his biological mother - and spend time in Italy. Later in life however, Favor has joined mainstream society and has little time for his old friend."
"Harry Caul is an electronic surveillance expert who owns and operates his own small surveillance business. He is renowned within the profession as being the best, one who designs and constructs his own surveillance equipment. He is an intensely private and solitary man in both his personal and professional life, which especially irks Stan, his business associate who often feels shut out of what is happening with their work. This privacy, which includes not letting anyone into his apartment and always telephoning his clients from pay phones is, in part, intended to control what happens around him. ..."
MIshima: A Life in Four Chapters
"The film sets in on November 25 1970, the last day in Mishima's life. ... In flashbacks highlighting episodes from his past life, the viewer sees Mishima's progression from a sickly young boy to one of Japan's most acclaimed writers of the post-war era (who keeps himself in perfect physical shape, owed to a narcissistic body cult). His loathing for the materialism of modern Japan has him turn towards an extremist traditionalism. He sets up his own private army and proclaims the reinstating of the emperor as head of state. ... The film culminates in Mishima and his followers taking hostage a General of the Japan Self-Defense Forces. He addresses the garrison's soldiers, asking them to join him in his struggle to reinstate the Emperor as the nation's sovereign. His speech is largely ignored and ridiculed."
"An offbeat study of the adult games that men and women play filtered through the actions of two seemingly innocent Japanese school kids, Satsuki and Takuya, two 17-year-olds who first meet practising kendo but later fall head over heels in love. They then discover the ways they can most exuberantly express their love for one another, no matter how perverse. It all starts with Takuya stealing Satsuki's belongings like socks, secretly photographing her beautiful legs, and... When Satsuki discovers this, she takes revenge by dominating him and forcing him to watch her having sex with a schoolmate..."
Don't watch this one boys
Four fascist libertines round up nine adolescent boys and girls and subject them to a hundred and twenty days of physical, mental and sexual torture
>Make this list hoping people would add to it
>no one does
"Storytelling is comprised of two separate stories set against the sadly comical terrain of college and high school, past and present. Following the paths of its young hopeful/ troubled characters, it explores issues of sex, race, celebrity and exploitation"
The second story in the film is robotcore, the first is fun but not really robotcore.
The Art of Getting By fucking sucks you moron. Some of the most stilted, cringey, and poorly delivered dialogue ever in a movie about a special snowflake misunderstood genius. Doesn't even have the decency to have him get fucked over in the end.
God damn man, get your shit together
What about something I haven't fucking seen you peice of shit loser. Thats what these threads are for not your pathetic sob peice of shit life comment literally expecting someone to care what YOU of all 4chan scumbags think! you FAGGOT!
I don't know if Sleeper is robotcore exactly, but most woody allen films should be enjoyable to robots
Cashback: how to deal with boredom at work
OfficeSpace: how to deal with boredom at office
lonely desperate fuck becomes obsessed with a regular customer woman, proceeds to do robot shit
I'm surprised I never see anyone mention There Will Be Blood in these threads. Sure the main character is successful and has a "son" but the way he relates to people and his opinions on them are about as robot as it gets.
Gonna watch it tonight or tomorrow
and cry a bit
>no Spanking The Monkey
Seriously, do yourselves a favor and watch this. Dude literally fucks his mom and he's awkward as fuck.
This is the ultimate robot film. It shows what happens if you want to be with someone to hard.
S T O P
What the fuck are you retards posting?
A robot film can't have a protagonist who has friends, a gf/relationship, and is a smooth talker in social situations. Certainly not one who easily talks to girls, or anyone really.
None of these films qualify, except for literally only >>26471473
Love Object is a pretty terrible movie, but it's pretty robotcore. It's about an autistic virgin that purchases a sex doll and dresses it up similar to a girl at his work.
Roastie gets BTFO.
This is literally r9k: the movie, one the best films I've ever seen
I have some bad news for you anon
I can always hold it together until the ending song
The Place Beyond the Pines
I literally can't believe this hasn't been posted yet.
This movie is the definition of robot media.
O MY FUCKING GOD

sherlock is smart as fuck too and also real
>theory of everything
the guys is in a fucking weelchair and get mad pussy while you're sitting there masturbating
how can someone be so skinny?
that's how i imagine you guys
Almost none of the movies posted in these threads are robot movies.
>not having watched the first movie
Main character manipulates that one girl into sex, and is pretty successful throughout the film, so not robot.
Nothing in this movie suggests that Travis couldn't get laid.
The girl in that movie was quite clearly into the driver, so really, he's the one cucking the mexican.
This is pretty /r9k/
This is about a pedophile, so it's more /tv/ than /r9k/
Her is a movie about a guy getting over his ex wife. Not robot in the slightest.
This movie made me feel sick to stomach and extremely aroused at the same time.
I think Dark Horse is a really underrated movie that should be robotcore.
It's basically about a fat, balding manchild with arrested development (mental age of like a 12 year old) who works in a non-position in his dad's company. He's implied to be schizophrenic and it's about his changing life and him trying to get a gf.
I have no idea how this film got labelled a "comedy-drama", there is literally nothing funny about it at all. It's just depressing and spirals into creepy non-sensicalness towards the end.
"I Stand Alone"
>old ugly cyborg butcher gets mad about his fucked up life
Are all you faggots in this thread just listing movies you like and say it's robot for no reason at all?
Shawshank redemption is pretty good but there's nothing robot about it.
Pic related is a real robot movie.
Watched it a couple days ago. It had so much potential.
> everyone single is put into a hotel resort
> 45 days to find a pair or become an animal
> can extend by hunting free singles
How did they manage to fuck it up with a scenario like that?
> mc is skilled
> mc manages to woo women he doesn't even like
> mc has a 8/10 into him, mutual attraction
The ending saved it slightly, but still, no robot would ever have 2.
Was this movie robotcore? Should I watch it? I see it posted all the time
>ctrl+f A Clockwerk Orange
>meanwhile all these roastie-tier movies get posted
You're better than this.
not necessarily robot but definitely a good movie that pulls you in and you're disappointed when it's over
Holy shit you guys like bad films.
This is robotcore
>while writing her thesis, she came to believe that all women are inherently evil
>meth addict who's still in love with his ex in the city, constantly leaves messages on her answering machine, she doesn't want anything to do with him
Cast Away. Normie wageslave transforms into robot NEET.
recommended to me on a thread many moons ago. crappy ending. The rest I identified with 100%
i hate to ask this but can someone, a true robot, compile true robot movies? none of this normie ass shit where the protagonist is happy and fucks his gf regularly, fucking reddit posers. i want the real shit
Sorry, there's a difference between a robot and a coward loser. Hes a robot because he can't fit in with the world. You're the cancer killing this board, please contemplate killing yourself instead.
Le Feu Follet: It's more of the depression rather than robot end of the spectrum.
The man who sleeps: A 25-year-old male student in Paris becomes indifferent to the world around him, and subsequently feels a strong sense of alienation and hopelessness.
