It's not obsolete, it's just sub-par in performance, heat output and software support.

Everything is running just fine. It's just I originally had several regular HDDs in RAID 1 when I built my current rig, some of which ended up failing over the years, and I decided to buy a SSD recently. After installing OS to it and then rebooting, it always came up with "DEVICE ERROR HURPDURP" if I didn't boot in IDE. Apparently there's some issue with various Windows versions that you can't boot anything in AHCI if you have used RAID before. A fix is available for it but I can't really be bothered to read about it since everything works well enough.

>>26455971
I don't know if there is a point. Still works faster than a regular HDD though.
