But we got to play WoW and RS2 in their prime. We also got to play Halo 3.
>mfw oldfags call us cancer because they think their shitty memes from 2004 are better than shitty memes from today
>You'll never get to be back in 2009 and 17 learning about the hacker known as 4chan via ED and lurking /b/
I only ended up here because of some idiot on WoW's official forums telling people to keep their idiot trolling in /b/. Eventually I thought "What the fuck is bee" and from that point on I was fucked.
Nah, that means in your early childhood, the world was already becoming a meme.
I was born in '92 and can remember a time without internet, but it would have been nice to have been born a few years earlier I guess. Video games were good up until around 2005/6, so I got to experience a lot of the good ones.

They went to shit when multiplayer became more popular than singleplayer and "early access" or "pre-alpa/alpha/basically selling a game that isnt even finished yet" became a thing.
Fuck, I miss Runescape so much. I tried out the new oldskool RS or something, but it just wasn't the same. They added all kinds of gay shit to it.
Why couldn't they just release a 2007 version as it was back in the day and just leave it like that?
>tfw you will never feel the joy of purchasing membership ever again and you will never spend hours talking to people in lumbridge/varrock
>Why couldn't they just release a 2007 version as it was back in the day and just leave it like that?
Because 2007 was 9 years ago, at this point people already know how to play the game as efficiently as possible, which removes the fun. New content keeps things interesting for people.
I also couldn't get back into RS07 though. Grinding isn't fun when you aren't 11.
I don't give a damn about the other people, I just want to play on my own, explore again, etc. Back when I played, I was always a sub-cb100 noob, but I still enjoyed it.
Last time I logged into 07 it looked just like one of thise moparscape servers.
Exploring was pretty fun. I liked to go to obscure corners of the map where there wasn't much of anything, just for the sake of being somewhere nobody else ever goes. But mostly I was grinding wc in seer's village, so other people mattered.

96' master year, reporting in. 20 in a few days..
I remember reaching that big ass crystal wall in the north west corner of the map, it was a big achievement because I died lots of times in that wood while trying to get there.
I also remember the long alching hours on the castle wars or al kharid duel arena walls.
Castle Wars was some real fun.
>grab the barricades and cover the entire flag area in them
>stand up there ready to kill anyone who appears
>decide to go for the flag yourself
>immediately get fucked by some guy with Ice Barrage
>stand in the cave next to the wall you could use explosive potions on
>inventory full of explosive potions
>enemy guy charges at me
>use explosive potion on wall
>rocks crush him and he dies
>mine rocks away and wait for next prey
>range/mage faggot comes and fucks me up
Every fucking time.
