calorie density is practically impossible to measure with the naked eye and even with the belly, for example:
a tablespoon of peanut butter is like 100 calories. a tablespoon. you could probably eat half a jar of peanut butter and not even feel phased. same with cooking oil, cheese and to a degree, sauces and dressings.

I had no idea how to actually count calories when I decided to lose the lard, so I was adding calories + calories from fat together.
That's how much I knew about nutrition last year.
I ended up figuring out I was a retard eating 500-700 calories a day, but stuck with it afterwards because whatever. Feels weird I hardly ever get hungry despite once being in the higher 300's.
My Fitness Pal is a great calorie-counting app. It has a huge database and will also set for you calorie and macros goal for your current weight and then your target weight.
I also doubt you're only eating 500 kcal/day if you are almost 400 lbs, unless you're shedding off fat like crazy. Either way starving yourself is unhealthy. Stop

It sure does. I just straight up cut bready things from my usual diet and treat it more as something special once in a while because toast alone can take so much out of your day. Now that I know more about calories and can practically estimate or remember everything in my head, it amazes me how high certain foods are and just how much I used to eat.
I lost 130 lbs in a year and since I don't know my exact starting weight, it was probably closer to 150 or more. It might not have been 500 every day, but it was close. I've been a lot more lenient with my calories lately though and bumped it up close to 800-1000 at least. I don't want to add too many too fast, but I'll get to a better range soon enough.

I don't drink soda, just sparkling water or rivella (2 kcal per glass).

It's almost unmaintainable. A medium four cheese pizza is around 1500kcal.

I can practically guarantee that you're counting calories wrong. Obese people are notoriously bad about vastly underestimating how much they eat. You can google studies about it, or go on youtube and watch a couple episodes of a show called Secret Eaters.
You have to weigh or measure everything out and look up how many calories everything has until you get good at calculating calories. If you're obese, you probably can't trust your ability to do that right.

I eat one large popcorn chicken meal a day, i feel completely full, and i have been doing this for years.

If you're bad at it don't eat calorie filled condiments and instead have things like oatmeal with water and a drink of your choice. You only have to worry about two things to count. Making a sandwich? Bread, meat and cheese with low/no calorie condiments such as lettuce, mustard etc. Minimizing the amount of things you have to count calories from makes it easier so instead of being off by 400 you may be off by less than 50.
Even if you're really low maintenance, I doubt 1000 kcal a day covers your entire required amount.
Also for the love of god, add veggies or something to go with popcorn chicken, you're likely missing a shitload of necessary nutrients

I drink a handle of vodka every 5-7 days and I can keep myself around 162 lbs eating two meals a day. I ballooned to 174 lbs though when I was eating fast food all the time. Better to start drinking before your dinner as that kills the munchies.

I've been keeping 1500 and have lost 50 pounds in the last six months so it's not all bad.
For frying I use 10ml of liquid pan butter.
A normal sandwich is around 5g. Butter is just that calorie rich. To illustrate, 5g is literally scraping a bit of butter on it. Most people would use 10.
And for sugar I use one sugarspoon per 250ml.

For sandwiches I do use margarine, it doesn't have a lot less calories. I don't like artificial sweeteners though. I'd rather watch the total caloriecount. You could eat 1500 for breakfast, don't be a pig for the rest of the day and there's no problem.

You can't. It's easier to accept that you have low willpower and not buy the thing than it is to buy the thing and convince yourself to not eat it.
If you absolutely must buy it think of every eaten extra calorie in terms of negative miles. If you have 520 calories of candy you ran negative 3.5 miles, that helps me frame it in a way that will make me not want to eat it anyway.

Basically if you have a 2500 kcal maintenance, low energy mode will maybe reduce your intake to 2200 kcal or something

There are indeed a few cases of people like that japenese woman that have a much harder time extracting the calories from ther food. Lizzie Velasquez for example, is a walking skeleton despite ingesting 8000 kcal a day because of that.
Note that the reverse also exists, people with PCOS for example have a much harder time dropping fat since everything they eat turns into it. However they are a really low percentage and hormonal treatment is available. Most fats are fat because of bad dietary habits

The first key step in weight loss is to stop with the denial and accept the personal blame. If you want to lose weight you need to recognize there is/was a problem with your eating habits, and change them.

This, eating less has made me go from fat-skinny two or three times. I'm on the fatter side now because I had to take steroids for a few months since I'm sick but now that I'm off them I'm shedding pounds just sitting here drinking soda. Try not having so much food around. That is the surefire way for me. If I have 200 bags of candy laying around, I'll end up eating it. If I have like 2 convenience store sized packs of starburst, and don't even eat candy most days, then it's no big deal. If the food isn't around it isn't even that big of a sacrifice. You'll be hungry I guess? I wasn't personally, I ate enough to survive and couldn't afford more, no need to torture myself over it. A regular fried egg has roughlt 92 calories, so 184 calories from both eggs.
It's hard to quantify the buttered toast since it depends on the amount of butter and what kind of bread you use, but with the standard bread one buttered toast has 89 calories. Since it's two pieces, the two eggs + two buttered toast combo has 392 calories
Christ this guy is either putting 600+ calories of sugar (that's 150g) or is making mountain tops of butter on the toasts

I drink lots of coffee and tea but use sugar purely for the taste in one or two cups in the morning. I've also switched to using herbs for tea as the satchels still contain sugars, masked as "aromas".
You need to eat 2500 calories in a day to maintain your weight, 3000 to gain and 2000 to lose weight. Cut out stupid shit on the burger such as condiments like ketchup, mayo and mustard because those suck ass and are empty calories. You could probably take the shit condiments off and the burger would be say 400 calories. You now can eat 5-6 burgers in a day and lose weight. You pretty much need to create meals for yourself that you enjoy that you know the nutritional value of. For example I eat mostly the same thing every day with a few variations.

I change serving size if I want to gain or lose weight. It isn't difficult, figure out what you need and then eat food you like and get it to fit what you need. You really need to drop soda though.

If you really need that sugary rush then have a cheat day where you can eat an extra slice of pizza and drink your coke but eventually you should get to the point where you dont drink it. If you absolutely can't go without it then a coke zero once in a while won't kill you but you'll be better off without it.

Coke zero is full of artificial sweeteners and those aren't fantastic for your body either, although not as bad as people make them out to be. There's lots of other trash in it though. Soda's are bad news in general.
I rarely drink soda, it was just for when I drink. Beers and cider is empty calories, so I tend to stick to vodka/rum and coke zero mixers instead when I do drink.

I can barely manage to get 2000 calories in a day, and my weight has stabilized at 67kg (was 54kg a few years ago)
Everyday I consume:
Oat mix w/ milk
A whole pot of chicken vegetable soup (200g chicken breast, ~1L total)
100g Smoked Salmon w/ 4 slices bread
Several glasses of milk and orange juice
Occasionally I'll snack on walnuts, crisps, or a fruit between meals if I'm hungry
Some days I have steak or salmon fillet in place of soup, but no matter what one does, it takes about an hour each day just to prepare dinner
These fatwits must have momma do all the cooking for them, 3 or more times a day - if it weren't for my dad's help, I wouldn't even be eating as much as I do now, because it's too much work
When I used to eat a whole block of chocolate, a 200g packet of crisps, brie cheese, pizza, etc. and drink only coca-cola I actually lost weight (60kg > 54kg) because that shit fills you up fast - people who are fat much be consuming huge amounts of this stuff

I've lost around 125 pounds and I just don't really eat. I exercise almost every day but I lose the same amount of weight when I don't exercise.

Dinner: 'Subway leftovers love in' which is supposed to be a weightloss strategy where I eat half the sub for lunch then half for dinner dipped in soup, but I bought another footlong and dipped it in 3 tins of soup
Snacks: Scot-Skittles, which is a family size bag of skittles with crumbled up scottish shortbread, 1 peach
Breakfast: bowl of cornflakes with strawberry milk
Lunch: 3 McDonalds Hamburgers
Dinner: Large plate of Spaghetti and meatballs
Snacks: On Monday night I take all the dirty dishes in my room and scrape the crust onto some vanilla ice cream and eat it so the food isn't wasted

Get a second-hand bike, any bike. It doesn't really matter what kind.
Bikes are way more fun than walking, you go a lot faster, you can see more stuff, it burns a FUCKTON more calories than walking, and they're actually pretty good for replacing short car journeys.
Learning to repair and maintain your bike will also make you feel fulfilled and productive.
