Is it really? I suppose IRC would work just as well. Only issue I have with IRC is than pasting multiple lines is the most horrifying experience known to man. And since I imagine we'll be pasting lots of code snippets, I'd prefer to not have to deal with that.

We're a mixbag of skills. One guy's into pixel art, another is into Java. I'm into javascript, and a bit of java. all skills are welcome. And as far as learning goes, the best way to learn is by experience. If you want to learn to code, just code!
