Who else loves this game? It's so relaxing. I used to play single player until I got unbearably lonely. So, what happened to the r9k minecraft server?
I agree, it's very relaxing. Used to play it with my housemates all the time at uni, had castles and tunnels and everything. Makes me a little bit sad to think that there's this whole minecraft world we built saved on my friend's xbox hard drive, and it will most likely never be played again, and definitely not with everyone who used to play.
I can't play singleplayer any more, feels like there's no point in doing anything.
The 4craft games were fun for a bit, and a nice idea, but they always effectively ended after a few days, and were completely done in a week. There wasn't enough coordination to actually attack anyone, and you'd get some dick spawncamping. It did at least bring the site together for a bit though.
>tfw remember one map where I had trouble connecting with the /r9k/ group, so made myself a little base under the bank of a bend in a river, in a jungle
>tfw turned out the robot base was right up the river
I'd like to think that an /r9k/ server would work, but it would only take a few people to ruin it
Minecraft is fucking comfy as fuck, shame that normies and 12 year olds get it so much hate.
And I only like building things, would a creative mode /r9k/ server be a good idea?
id probably play 4 days out of the week. im a decent builder and good at the beginning of the game but when it starts involving the nether and strongholds i get kinda slow and confused
It's an interesting idea, but 2 things:
1. How much interest would there be?
2. How long would it realistically last?
>tfw you remember all the plans you made with other people in the /r9k/ group, about building a base and NEETing it up at the bottom of the world, and sneaking into other boards' bases and stealing their things
pretty weak desu senpai. just trade supplies with others, don't upset the holy balance of a minecraft world. the economy pretty much runs itself in minecraft, players will barter prices and value based on supply and demand.
haha you mean from 4craft? i miss the r9k group. what are your guys' usernames?
onelastorphan here. the only one i remember is "a evil hippie", he was funny
Will I be able to join from a pirated client?
I ain't giving my money to any jews
Due to the popular response, I'm going to look into a server. It would be whitelisted vanilla, with a no griefing policy. You would write a short paragraph to an email and I would whitelist you if I thought you would be a good addition to the community.
yeah i think so, wasn't that player in a position of power within the fac?
whats the email then, buddy? lets get this row on the show.
I was considering putting up a server, but knowing you faggots, I would get doxxed pretty bad. I even have 20 unused servers that I could use to homehost a TS3 and minecraft server ;_;
true robots don't doxx, its the faggot trolls that have ruined this board. you just gotta put it up in an esoteric way that the dim-witted masochists don't see it.
You can find the game at minecraft.net. You will have to create a Mojang account, and then purchase the game with that account. Then if an /r9k/ server is made, you could just join the address to the server
I'd love to join. It's been long since I played Minecraft and I remember it being comfy as fuck, especially with a friend. Too bad that the 9 year olds and the fanbase ruined the game for me but I'd try it again.
I can host a 24/7 home server one with about 4 gigs of ram, cracked (so no legit client, but with in-game authentication), and good internet (1gb up/down and about 1ms lag in Europe)
I'd do it in an instant if there wasn't any risk of ddos
Here is a link to a Discord chat I made. If you guys don't know what it is, its essentially a better version of Team Speak with free servers, feel free to join. Just click the link.
I am good at anything in general now.
Just gotta be super cautious in the nether, bring plenty of steaks (any other food is likely to kill you, maybe a bowl for emergencies if you are so inclined or make a treefarm near the portal.)
Also covering the portal so it doesn't get turned off is a must always.
Strongholds are pretty confusing still for me.
I just have been lucky in most of my worlds and find the portal right away, or easily.
Only once or twice I have found that there was no portal. It sucked.
My friends and i have been working on a server on the
xbonefor about 2+ years now.
We each have a kingdom and we've been building them up this whole time.
It's a slow process... We only play like once or twice a month.
What are you, 8. You probs dont even have minecraft. You just watch YouTubers play that cancer that you call a game
Yep, i used to play a lot on a server that had something like that and It was pretty fun. I could go mining for an hour while listening to podcasts, then I could sell all the cobble and dirt to buy some nicer building materials for my house.
Pic related, town I made with the guy who introduced me to the server. Sadly that world got wiped and a while ago the server shut down.
I want to play but honestly the game doesn't interest me anymore
nothing has changed in the past 5 years
the game is still the exact same it was 5 years ago
even the mods are barely changing, and I played a week or two of it recently just to check
the only thing that really gets me that comfy feeling anymore is terrafirmacraft, but that's just because it's so slow paced and homey. in other news, it's probably going to be like a year before it's updated to 1.8
I'd be down for terrafirmacraft
>nothing has changed in the past 5 years
>the game is still the exact same it was 5 years ago
Do they still update it?
I'm glad youtube wasn't so big when I was young, so all my embarassing fuckups couldn't get documented so easily.
I wish I could relive the excitement I used to get from playing Vanilla minecraft. Now I find vanilla too boring and I just play hexxit or mess around in my large B-Team base that I probably spent too long making.
Hang on a monent guys. There's an r9k minecraft server already. We've had plenty of cozy nights since we first started half a year ago. It's good timing too, every friday night we gather and have a feelsnight to share feels and listen to music together through cytube. pic related.
we're using 16w04a right now.
server ip is 220.127.116.11:26361
I'll see you there, robots.
pixelmon is pretty chill
i revel in the combined autism of both filling the dex and building structures
I really wish they'd add some sort of detailed interaction with the villagers. it'd be cool to become a warrior for them, train other villagers to fight, tell them to mine and gather supplies, and build up a village. it could be like a minecraft version of the settlements from fallout 4
I used to play it a lot. I find the concept fascinating, and its presentation is amazing: the graphics are appealing and iconic, the soundtrack is this amazing ambient/chill mix. My problem is that the game, as a *game*, just gets boring pretty quickly. I really tried to get into Survival mode. At first its fun, sort of like this really neat RPG where you collect your own materials and progressively get better things, but it gets boring when you realize that the stuff you build doesn't really do anything. Also, I found the mining incredibly tedious, and that's obviously a big part of the game.
Always having to make so many torches (and placing them every few blocks), gather food, constantly needing more storage space...It gets old quick. So I find the game frustrating, I WANT to like it because its so fascinating, but it just gets too tedious for me.
I agree. The /r9k/ server always had this shop at the default spawn point where you bought shit, but I never liked that. It seems highly artificial, whatever prices you set the items at.
Buiding useless stuff is my favorite part of the game, no matter how useless it is
as long as there isn't any pixel arts or a cluttered spawn, id gladly join an r9k server.
The game would feel a lot less empty if villagers and mobs were less passive.
I'd always build these castles, and then get put off by the fact that they would never be attacked by anything other than individual enemies, and wouldn't be defended by anyone but myself. Ideally mobs would occasionally spawn in a group and attack at once, with some (slow) way of climbing walls or something.
And you could have villagers live in your base and defend it.
A mod for this probably already exists.
It looks like some sort of sleepover.
Posted this in the comfy vidya thread earlier.
Spent about 4 years making this alone. It's a kingdom with one big city, some towns and a bunch of forts.
I've got a bunch of lore for it as well. There are loads of secrets hidden around the world too.
If anyone wants to see more of it, I'll post.
Not that guy, but lots of my single player worlds are full of little secrets, puzzles and notes for people to find. At least now with LAN sharing you have some chance of others seeing it if you have actual IRL friends.
thats the very reason people are drawn to servers, they want to share their creations and put them to use. i think that's a feature minecraft really is missing, there needs to be a reason to build castles and stuff.
Not really, it's just comfy to build while listening to a podcast.
I may upload it one day when it's finished, but I don't think it ever will be.
I prefer thermal expansion chests to iron chests all the way
>good capacity, the highest one is pretty nice but expensive as it should be
>all of them are explosion resistance
Also minefactory reloaded. Tekkit in general is my passion. Too bad it hasn't yet updated to 1.7.
>there needs to be a reason to build castles and stuff.
This is why I want something like >>26278712
>Ideally mobs would occasionally spawn in a group and attack at once, with some (slow) way of climbing walls or something.
>And you could have villagers live in your base and defend it.
To be fair, the limited AI you'd need for this is probably way beyond the current reactive AI it uses, and would be a lot of work.
We've just set up a fresh vanilla map on the server. Feel free to join in if anyone has the urge. There are no rules, except normans must vacate.
>no pixel art allowed
Damn, I had gotten gud at making feelguys in minecraft.
Not OP, but I'd rather have 'comfy co-operative minecraft' than 'competitive minecraft'. I don't want to worry about being killed for no reason by some dick with diamond armour.
With Survival though, maybe on a high setting to keep it interesting.
>tfw an anon gets trapped in a mine by mobs overnight and we go and get him
Having it entirely depend on the people involved is more interesting, though. Anti-grief space makes comfy residence possible while still allowing fighting and rivalries etc
Imagine going to rescue anon from the cave, enchanted diamond armor autist shows up and you form together to kick his ass
These threads are the worst people say they're gonna do something and nothing happens
All we want I think is a small Co operative server where we all help each other out and create a comfy server, I think that would be great
this server i was on made "War zones", there were isolated grief-free areas for each faction (the faction leader could dictate these borders), and the areas between factions were for combat.
This thread is now a Dragon Quest Builders discussion thread.
>get onto nether highway
>decide to walk 100,000 blocks away and then go back to the real world and make a farm
>find hundreds of watermelon slices from a slain person who traveled the highway before me
>i make it about 30,000 blocks down the highway before i get cornered in killed
I really need to play Minecraft again some time.
I fill my life with so much needless busywork, that I normally slide right past vidya, let alone vidya without a defined goal.
It'd be nice to just take a damn chill pill and build a digital treehouse for a change.
remember to join
We play 4craft like once a year, it lasts for a week but it's allot of fucking fun, we've had upto 40 robots in the past all making a comfy base together and sometimes raiding other boards bases, too. Join the steamgroup, I'll post announcments when it's happening.
I think it closed down, I was in the biggest fac on the server, ArmenianReich. We raped every single faction and griefed it to hell, so many people quit it got closed down. Some dude in our fac was a legit child molestor who was 28 and married to a 16 year old
>11 year old
>Changing it to 11 years old all of a sudden
I repeat, off yourself or go back to redd*t
Classic, not anymore.
I am playing tekkit latest.
>play singleplayer tekkit to get the hang of the new things
>get bored because no aim
>join server and overwhelmed
>everything around spawn is built up
>quit because I don't want to walk miles to find resources and some space to build on
I love it.
You can travel to the moon and mars, you can make minerals and ores with minefactory reloaded, it also can make nearly everything automatic, you have almost unlimited space with the iron chests and the thermal expansions chests are secure if you do mp and the crafting system of applied energistics is pretty cool. If you make a big enough reactor you can build anything you want and make factories.
Although it is not as overpowered as EE was in classic.
I remember playing on a Tekkit(classic) back in 2012 that banned EE. A lot of grinding to make a HV solar array lol thats why i made assembler
I will have to look into the newer versions have been on hiatus for over a year.
>be at uni
>just discovered minecraft alpha
>walking to food court with some dorm mates trying to be social
>one starts talking
>Ugh, so there are these really nerdy guys in my club and all they do is play video games.
>I mean, I play games too, but this one is really weird.
>Its all blocky and low res with bright colors and I can't tell what it's supposed to be.
>I can't relate to them at all.
>tfw you beat a hardcore tekkit world completely
We need a skyblock server.
If we run a vanilla survival server it will be ruined by the shitstorm.
>tfw ran a r9k server in 2014 for the better part of a full year
>already know people are talking about it in this thread
>lost all of the world saves and screenshots of robot friendos so it is only a fleeting memory now
>remember the names of anons who stuck by even though it was hard to get permanent players
>was a huge neet but tending to the server and providing a haven for anons kept me sane
>have become a normie since then and barely go on r9k at all except for once or twice a month at best
This website affects me way too strongly
The life of a hermit NEET who walks the shaky bridge of depressive thoughts and self loathing every day can not expect longevity in their lifestyle.
My higher calling couldn't be ignored any longer, I had to answer to it and validate my true potential
This is hobo. I'm taking a shit right now and I'm tired as fuck, but I'll get on sometime within the next few days. I've been feeling like playing minecraft. I still have all my fingers too.
Why don't you take a stop down in Broville OP! It's the city by /v/ for /v/! There's a /r9k/ neighborhood too.. I think?
Does anyone have a way I can play with them?
Tfw conputer (case maybe? I don't know power button won't work) is kill until I figure what is wrong
Yes, case buttons can die.
If you know some guy that knows a bit of basic soldering and you can find a new button that fits, you can fix it temporarily.
But unless you find a brand new button, you are fucked.
underrated bost my brend :DD
