You will. I just hope you don't die in the next 5 years. VR is already here. 5 years and we have photorealistic VR and probably some kickstarter projects for other senses like smell or pain. 10 years until VR MMOs are common. Maybe we will even live to be able to afford neuralinterfaces. The future is going to be great.
>>26273737 >no western developer is going to touch lewd VR games >porn is already banned from the oculus store >the writing will suck >you'll have to wait for fan translations because SJWs won't let that shit ever leave japan
>>26273906 No one cares about those first three things, but the beta orbiters will be armed with axes and will hack to pieces anyone who looks at a female in VR.
Really though, I'd say there is a good chance that they will make harsh regulations on VR makers (who own and enforce patents on the good parts) using pedophilia as an excuse. There's already been several stories trying to whip up fury about child sex dolls, lolicon, pedos in VR, etc. It will end up like Nintendo's early system where they got to certify the content, and no company is going to want to produce lewd content for it at all, much less "creepy" things. It won't last forever, but thirty or forty years isn't an unrealistic amount of time for them to maintain their stranglehold.
>>26274131 No it fucking won't. Maybe it will be regulated but who cares? Do you seriously think feminism is a big movement? You only hear about it on /v/ and shitty news sites because they can get attention there and only there. Nobody in the real world cares about them. Same goes for loli and whatever else perverted fucks are watching. Realistic modeling, texturing and animating aren't things you need an official company from. It WILL happen. And it won't be limited to Japan.
>>26274272 >go to google >search loli >get 17 million results
Sure is illegal. Like driving too fast or throwing cigarettes away. Unsignificant things like this will always be unenforced and essentially legal. Except maybe north korea. The only reason the fear is hyped is because autists have no other things to worry about.
>>26274220 Are trannies a big group? No, but they still dominate the national dialogue until they get people to give them what they want so they will shut up for a while. Same with feminism. It's not a really big movement, but it is a powerful movement. Powerful enough to pressure tech companies into giving their stupid little projects hundreds of millions of dollars every year so they don't get called misogynists on twitter. Would Intel give a hundred million dollars away to a group that no one cared about? And even if you are right that no one in the real world cares and the tech industry is a bunch of fucking dorks, it still doesn't change the fact that these tech companies that are so afraid of feminism are the ones we rely on to make VR that won't suck.
Besides that, the US (and the rest of the west is too for that matter, or will be soon) is increasingly polarized. The center is being pushed out and the far right and far left, neither of which are very friendly. One side is bound to toss the lolicon issue out as an appeal to normie voters and promise to personally execute anyone who uses it, and laws will be passed in such a vague way to block other fun things as well. The only reason why this hasn't been the case so far is because moralists haven't been in charge too much for the past twenty years.
>>26274489 I understand your position because I was once there. But trust me, no one in the real world cares about this. As I said, normies don't care about the stuff we care about. They don't care what some dumbfuck posts on twitter. They don't care about anything that requires them to buy a glorified 699$ strap-on monitor. Women weren't sexualized in games 20 years ago and they aren't now. What you read on the internet and what seems to be controversial is in fact a bunch of very lound individuals getting attetion by people who have nothing better to do. About your left-right stuff: Yeah, that's the case. But the general understanding is left-socialist and right-conservative. It's not about your fapping preferences.
Do you guys really think that proper VR (not the goggles and headphones shit) is coming any time soon? Major scientific advancement died somewhere around the late 90s when we realized as a culture that we have no future and there will never be any interstellar spaceships or colonized planets. Our civilization is nearing it's end and our grandest technological achievements will be the iPad and that Japanese robot that falls down all the time.
>>26274639 >About your left-right stuff: Yeah, that's the case. But the general understanding is left-socialist and right-conservative. It's not about your fapping preferences. I'll address this first. Political ideology comes with a lot of baggage. Given that politicians cannot be broken down further than on the personal level (since that sounded so retarded, I mean that you can't elect politician A for only policy W and not expect him to support the X, Y, and Z as well, even if you didn't vote for him because of those), it is a naturally holistic system. A person who is heavily in favor of, say, Austrian economics, is going to naturally be pulled to the right on other issues unrelated to that as well, mostly because that person is going to be reading literature by, and interacting with people who are also to the right. Same with Marxism, a Marxist is going to be drawn to the left on all issues as well. It is incredibly hard to separate planks from the platform.
Now, >But trust me, no one in the real world cares about this. As I said, normies don't care about the stuff we care about. They don't have to care. All they have to do is passively be pandered too. Ask any of them "Do you support virtual child porn?", they will answer no. Ask "Do you support banning rape simulators?", they will answer yes. They might no even care, or they might not even be asking honestly, but the mandate is creating, and a politician has a new scapegoat to be sacrificed to divert attention from something.
Betas have always been kicked around by the strong. This will be no exception.
>>26273565 >2050 >after working hard and putting my nose to the grindstone and my ear on the pulse of VR, I've attained enough money and knowledge to have a working setup. >Jack in >All the anime girls have AI to make the experience open-ended and more real >they realize I have a shit personality and wasted my life away
>mfw I waited 30 years to get called a piece of trash by a gook cyber-Stacy
>>26274982 I think you take this too serious. I'm saying that the chance it will be banned is low. If it was to be banned, nobody would enforce the law serious enough. And even if it would be enforced, you could easily bypass it. Just like it is now with nearly all digital media. Even getting CP via Tor isn't hard (allegedly). Even considering this whole topic a problem seems absurd to me.
