I developed a stutter because my older brother would always interrupt me so I couldn't get a word in edgewise.

I learned to slow down when I spoke. For atleast 15 years I would stutter when I got excited.. By mid 30s my stutter is 100% gone.

One of my kids started to stutter a little and I taught him to slow down and let his mouth catch up to the thoughts in his head. It stopped it immediatly.. (Sadly my parents made fun of me and encouraged my stutter)

Just slow down and speak more deliberately.

I try to do this but I get really bad anxiety when my sentences drag on in social situation, so I speed up and it perpetuates the whole issue.

Also can't maintain eye contact consistently while talking slowly.

I've had a stutter since at least third grade. I've been ready to be a hermit since I was a teenager because of it.
