How do you make and maintain online friendships? I've been completely alone for ~3 years now. The only non-family communication I have is through 4chan and Omegle.

i've only ever had two really, really close online friends and with both of them i knew the names of their parents and their home address, i'd have been able to find out if something happened. the second one actually told me he was going to commit suicide once, then went offline, and i told his father and sent the police to his door

Definitely not. I'v been friend with this guy for 4 years now and we talk every other day. Internet friends can be fun, they usualy don't feel uncomfortable talking about weird shit.

I had to quit talking to my last real online friend last year. I still think about him every day.

I shared just the right amount of "too much" and "not enough" to feel I had irredeemably doomed the friendship.

I don't know, I have been dealing with the same thing.I have been in a skype group for awhile and talked too much about myself and flaunting my autism really hard.They say we are close friends, but I really don't feel it. I want to just cut it but also I don't since I would be utterly alone and probably try to off myself without them.
