If you have debt, pay it off. Put some of it in a savings account to have access to it immediately (3-5 months of expenses). With the rest, put it into a bank CD. You could ladder them over the next 5 years, or choose a shorter term. All this is going to do is get you a few hundred dollars of interest, avoid deflation, and give you some time to think about what you really want to do with the money. The last thing you need to do is get pressured by a bunch of fucking vultures into giving them handouts, or blowing it on some asset that turns into an unpaid debt that ends up costing you more money in the long run.
