I don't only care about what "white people" may or may not think of me, but anyone I'll ever meet regardless of their skin tone.
I try my very best to avoid being seen as yet another stereotypical Nigger as I don't want to just reinforce the maymay nor automatically give people a reason to have a negative initial disposition towards me; and even though most people actually assuming stereotypes to be true were I to act anything but like the passive Betamax I am happen to be white, not only white people work with prejudices - far from it.

No longer caring about what others may think of me or how they'll assume my other traits will be based on skin tone were I to stop being as passive as I am, would probably allow me to be a bit less selfless and thus allow me to sometimes take instead of next to never doing so and only give. It would benefit my personal gains by quite a bit.
However, all in all I'm content enough knowing that at least in this current situation my mere existence is not deemed a negative one.
Friends actually are concerned at times about my disregard of own life and being too eager to please, claiming I'm too kind and should be more selfish for my own sake, and I might not be able to ever get a gf because with all that comes a total lack of initiating things without the other party being clear in wanting the same thing (and we all know women showing clear interest let alone take initiative is nigh non-existent unless you're the top 1%), but knowing most people seem to like me helps me not caring about opinions of people with crappy personalities - white or otherwise.

Then again, I'm not blaming "whites" for my problems, nor even remotely expect "whites" I meet to somehow compensate for what their ancestors may or may not have potentially done to my ancestors - let alone ancestors of others sharing my race.
All I expect is to be treated for my actions and personality rather than race - much like I do to others - and so far that seems to happen.

I've met them.
I went to a college party my cousins friend hosted when I was there.
The dudes I met were laid back, chill, and intelligent. All hard working dudes making cheddar.
None were involved in gangs/violence.
