Would anyone be interested in a minecraft server?
I'm thinking of renting one
Suggestions if I do go for it?
A year or so ago my friends and I managed to find like an early alpha server client and jar files.
My god were the servers back than so shitty when it came to resources. It was so laggy. And this was a decent computer running the server with a decent internet speed.
I used to host a bukkit server for about a year, made some decent cash from donations but the fucking kids become intolerable. It's not too expensive to host if you know what your doing and take donations if it gets too big.
I forgot to mention that you can get 50$ worth of free hosting from the github student pack. So if any other tech students want in we could host one free for a while by trading off hosts.
The mods will delete any threads you make here and the server will slowly die after a few months. This always happens with minecraft servers. We've had atleast a dozen come and go here already.
Wait for 1.9 and use that version. I have been playing since forever and I'm tired with alpha and betas because there's only so much you can do.
Or better yet. Use a model version or at least implement some mods.
