I don't get why people get excited over tax returns. That's money you should have gotten already, but you had to do all the work into figuring that out yourself. You might as well do it yourself; take 10 dollars a week from whatever you make, fill out a bunch of online surveys, then give yourself the $500 you've saved up. You'd even get the money a lot faster.

Actually the IRS does pay very good interest, but you have to claim it, and they have to owe you enough. (plus a few other simple conditions).

I found this out one year, when due to a stockbroker fucking up, I had to pay about $40k, and then claim it back six months later when I got the mess unfucked.
